Chapter 919 - 919 907 The New Emperor
Chapter 919: Chapter 907: The New Emperor Chapter 919: Chapter 907: The New Emperor “Seems like I need to find another one!”
Glancing at the ashes beneath his feet, Aeolus curled his lips. This Legendary Level Demon Lord had barely withstood his two moves! After all, to turn it into this pile of ash, he first swept it with a gun, and then used the Blazing God Flame to burn it to this state.
Aeolus looked over his shoulder. Before making his legendary breakthrough, he could still faintly sense the presence of some legendary devils, but after his breakthrough, these traces of presence became difficult to discern. He figured that if he wanted to find legendary devils to spar with, it would take quite some effort to play hide and seek with them.
“So I can only look for demons!” Aeolus let out a somewhat helpless sigh. Devils were too slippery—once they saw which way the wind was blowing, they all ran off. He then looked straight ahead.
In the Blood War he was partaking in, at this very moment, in this time period, the demons had achieved victory. They had captured more than twenty fortresses, including the steel fortress Aeolus was at now. Of course, such victories were temporary, and it was only a matter of time before the fortresses would be retaken by the devils.
It had always been so since time immemorial; the blood battles between demons and devils were generally deadlocked. Perhaps one side would gain a temporary upper hand, but it would quickly be snatched back.
Of course, none of this mattered to him. What Aeolus was thinking about now was to find some legends to spar with and quickly grasp the vast, ocean-like power within his own body.
Thinking this, Aeolus glanced at the “colleagues” who had practiced here and battled alongside him during this time—only, these guys had all been stupefied by his transformation.
Aeolus smiled at these fellows, then left the steel fortress and walked towards the demon army that seemingly had no end in sight.
The number of demons is known to all; it’s a question even the gods cannot answer, and probably even the oldest demons do not know. That’s because there are simply too many demons. Inside the Bottomless Abyss, every moment sees the endless birth and demise of demons.
So the several hundred thousand demons that Aeolus had mightily killed just now were insignificant compared to the total number of demons in the Bottomless Abyss, not even a drop in the ocean.
…
“Are all demon lords so smart these days?” Inside a space rift on the Bloody Battlefield, an emperor who had brought all his weapons sighed softly, “They’re too wise to their own good. Can’t one that’s blind to what’s happening just pop out?”
Long before Aeolus began his breakthrough, Muria had arrived at this battlefield with his weapons in tow. However, instead of showing himself outright, he hid within a space rift, silently protecting his son.
Now, Muria was somewhat bored as he watched Aeolus charge into the demon Legion, killing left and right. If Aeolus had charged into a human army of similar scale, all Muria would have to do now is curse him out and rescue him.
But the army Aeolus was attacking was the demon army—a mob as cohesive as sand. No, to associate demons with an army would be an insult to both terms. The inherently chaotic demons were no more than a mob.
Just like Aeolus at this moment—he plunged into the demon tide, but only those around him who saw or felt his presence attacked him. The rest did nothing.
In other words, Aeolus’s seemingly dangerous action was actually quite safe because he was always facing a limited number of demons at any moment.
“No one knows exactly how many layers the Abyss has, to this day; such a tremendous entity is only in a deadlock with the nine layers of Barto Hell, making it a laughing stock in the World Community.” Muria couldn’t help but sigh softly as he watched his son’s valiant figure. “Indeed, no matter what you do, you must have a commanding presence that can issue orders and oversee everything. Otherwise, it’s all just a joke.”
And so, Muria followed behind his son, watching him slaughter his way through the demon crowd, taking down one Legendary Level Demon after another. To be honest, watching this made even him itch to step out and show off his presence.
Regrettably, as of yet, the Bloody Battlefield had not presented an opponent worthy of his personal intervention. After all, Muria’s identity was not ordinary, and it would be too embarrassing to strike against an ordinary Legendary Level Demon.
BOOM!
An endless surge of Golden Thunder exploded from within the sky over the Bloody Battlefield, which had been shrouded in blood mist. In an instant, it dispelled all filth, and golden thunder illuminated the battlefield around Aeolus.
Powerful and terrifying divine pressure swept across the sky, and countless demons below the Gold Rank were directly blown apart. Likewise, those above Gold Rank scrambled to flee, terrified by this force.
“Hmm!” At this moment, Aeolus had just killed a rather peculiar demon that had ascended to legend in the form of a demonic worm. Standing next to the worm carcass, which was large as a small hill, he looked up into the transforming sky.
He saw those Golden Thunder interweave to form a Thunder Gate, directly piercing and rending the space above the Bloody Battlefield, with the resonant sound of Dragon Chants emanating from the portal of this Thunder Gate.
Subsequently, a towering figure appeared within this portal, looking down upon him from a great height, full of majesty—this was Muria, who had waited half the day without the obtuse Demon Lord popping out. Since he couldn’t wait any longer, he grew tired of watching his son trouncing the weak here.
“Aeolus, my son, first of all, I congratulate you on your breakthrough to Legend!” Muria stood in the middle of the portal, looking down at his son, his voice authoritative and magnificent. Amidst the enhancement of the thunder, his voice spread throughout the entire Bloody Battlefield.
“Secondly, I congratulate you on becoming the second Emperor of a rapidly strengthening empire!”
“Indeed…” Seeing Muria’s emergence, Aeolus wasn’t too surprised, as this was something he had speculated not long after his breakthrough in Soul Intent, “So be it.”
Similarly, when he heard Muria’s decree for him to inherit the throne and become Emperor, he wasn’t too thrilled either, because he had also anticipated this arrangement in advance. Otherwise, it would be hard to explain why his father had sealed him and cast him down to the mortal plain.
He recalled his childhood memories and it seemed he hadn’t done anything to provoke his father, nor had he made any mistakes. It must have been due to some matter that had influenced his father’s decision, thus treating him this way.
…
“This is my eldest son, and the heir to the Senapus Empire!” After Muria brought Aeolus back to the Imperial Palace of Xena Pus, he immediately convened all of the empire’s subjects and introduced Aeolus to them.
“Greetings to His Majesty the Crown Prince!”
A chorus of organized greetings echoed within the Imperial Palace, and those who stood in this Underground Palace had at least broken through to Legendary level, each with a wealth of life experiences.
Despite the surprise most felt towards this suddenly introduced Crown Prince, their greetings were just as prompt as those ministers who were in the know.
“Is there anything you would like to say to me?” Muria, after summoning his subjects and then motioning them to withdraw, turned to his son. He had gathered his subjects merely to introduce them to his son.
“Why did you seal away the power of my bloodline?” Aeolus asked directly about the answer he had already surmised but was yet to confirm.
“Because I need you to be my successor, my son! This land needs a wise Emperor to continue its rule! However, the position you’re in now is far too elevated, so high that many things are out of sight. An Emperor raised here, high above, would definitely not be a wise ruler to the lower creatures!”
“Can’t you continue to rule? You are not bound by a lifespan.”
“Indeed, life does not constrain me, but there are other matters that would distract me. I will soon leave the world of Erathia and venture into the Void, I don’t have much time left!”
“I understand,” Aeolus nodded, then asked the question he truly cared for, “Where are my mother and my sister now?”
“Your mother is with Gladys in the Heavenly Realm, Tiffany is within Xena Pus, and Ketiya is in the Titan Clan Lands. If you miss them, you can go visit them now!” Muria replied with a smile. “Oh, and I’m allowing you to spend a bit more time in the Titan Clan Lands. However, I do hope that upon your return, you will bring back your future Empress!”
“This… Father, what are you implying?” Aeolus was suddenly embarrassed by Muria’s words.
“Prepare yourself swiftly. In ten years, I will be six hundred years old. On that day, I will abdicate, and you will ascend as the second Emperor. But I also hope that day will be not only your coronation but also your wedding day!”
Muria sensed the power within his body; he could feel that his body’s potential was nearly fully exploited, and when he reached the limit, it would be the time for him to achieve the Legendary Peak.
And at that point, no matter how hard he strived, he would not be able to advance any further. If he wished to become stronger, he would have to make a choice. He could spread faith, establish a church, exalt the Divine Throne, become a Deity, turn into a higher life form, and govern the laws of the world.
Or he could venture into the Void, obtain the source power, wield the force to evolve all things, break through his own limits, remake his body, control the rules, surpass the Deities, and become truly immortal!
