Chapter 910 - 910 898 Titan Trial Token
Chapter 910: Chapter 898: Titan Trial Token Chapter 910: Chapter 898: Titan Trial Token “My sister definitely exists!” Having spent a day in the city where he grew up, Aeolus boarded the floating ship, ready to return to the academy for classes.
Due to the sudden disappearance of his relatives, Aeolus felt a sense of bewilderment at this time. Fortunately, while he was dining at Uncle Emon’s house, many neighbors came over to give him their regards and inquire about his situation, offering various pieces of advice.
“What I need to do now is to study hard at the academy, and then strengthen my power. The stronger I am, the more I can encounter, and the more likely I am to find my parents and sister!”
Aeolus, who had already boarded the floating ship, silently pondered his next steps. Everything was centered around increasing his own strength.
He had not yet the power to unravel the truth behind his life’s events, which, from a young age, seemed coincidental. His strength was far too meager compared to the force that was able to manipulate his life.
…
“Aeolus is only at the Gold Rank now. Isn’t it a bit premature for him to sense something amiss?” asked Michaela, glancing at Muria, who sat beside her, taking an interested look at his son’s every move.
“There’s nothing improper about it. He’s grown up already. Even if I deliberately concealed it, he would notice something awry. So, I might as well leave some clues for him openly. When he makes some deductions based on these clues, he’ll be more mentally prepared by the time the ultimate mystery is unveiled, so as not to frighten him,” Muria explained with a smile. He had subtly left hints for Aeolus during his growth, such as showing the invincible grace of Titans through the Sword’s Mark when Aeolus first obtained it.
Such dignity would leave a profound impression in Aeolus’s memory. As he encountered more people and his vision broadened, he would start to realize the unfathomable depth of his father.
“Alright, you make the decisions. What’s next on your agenda?” inquired Michaela.
“Things will proceed as they should. Whatever he should receive, I will arrange for him,” said Muria, squinting his eyes.
Aeolus was now nearing the Golden Peak. After some time, he would be able to break through to the Soul Intent Level. That’s when he would discover more clues.
For example, when Aeolus’s Soul Intent reached the First Tier’s completion, he would realize that he was not human at all. As the inheritor of Muria and Michaela’s bloodlines, Aeolus’s Bloodline would surely surpass that of ordinary Titans and Blazing Sky Divine Descendants. The Soul Intent Circles he formed would each exceed twelve.
At such a time, much would be impossible to conceal. Hence, Muria simply stopped meeting with Aeolus, letting him guess blindly, and in seeking the truth, Aeolus would study desperately, practice relentlessly, and work hard to enhance his own strength.
…
Gold Rank Lord Monster—The Lava Giant!
Aeolus drew out a long spear, taking measured steps toward the Lava Pool, his gaze calmly fixed on the immense Monster beginning to stir awake.
This venture into the Maze was of his own volition, and using his rich experience, he had located the Lava Pool’s slumbering Lord Monster in the deepest part of the Maze.
“Roar!” The Lava Giant, standing up in the Lava Pool and spotting the tiny creature walking towards it, let out a thunderous roar. With that roar, the Lava Pool raged with hot air as a torrent of fiery Magma surged, aiming to envelop Aeolus.
“To possess such a massive body and an innate Talent to completely dominate humans in controlling flames—is that all you’re capable of?” Aeolus, eyeing the incoming Magma wave, felt a twinge of disappointment.
With the Sword’s Mark—and recently the Gun mark—pulling him into the mental Space on a daily basis for training, his mastery over power was something most creatures could only dream of achieving.
In the art of the Sword and Spear, he could be considered a master. Especially in the Sword technique, which he’d been practicing since childhood, he was fast approaching the level of a grandmaster.
Clang—
Aeolus unsheathed the Sword at his waist. The clear and pure Sword light, like a bolt of Thunder, pierced through the Giant’s wave of flames, and then penetrated the Lava Giant’s chest, leaving a large through-and-through hole.
“You…” But now, the Lava Giant glared at Aeolus with its eyes ablaze, and its breath began to sharply decline. Its large body, huge compared to that of Aeolus, slowly toppled into the Lava Pool.
“Too weak, absolutely no challenge at all!” Aeolus, looking at the Lava Giant he had just slain with a single swing of his sword, showed no joy on his face. He stepped lightly across the magma, making his way towards the stone platform erected in the center of the Lava Pool.
“What’s this?” Upon reaching the stone platform, Aeolus saw a golden token, the front of which was carved with the image of a giant holding a battle axe, roaring up at the sky.
Aeolus reached out and grabbed the token, and then information emerged from it, bringing a look of surprise to the young warrior’s face.
Titan trial token! The holder of the token is allowed to engage in a skill-based battle with an Underage Titan of the same level! No risk to life!
“How can such a thing appear in a maze that has already been explored?” Aeolus fiddled with the token in his hand, then pursed his lips, identifying something unusual.
When a maze is first opened, that is when it is easiest to obtain rewards. But even after the lord Monster that guards the maze is killed and its treasures taken, the maze is not abandoned.
After some time, a new lord Monster will emerge within the maze, and with it, new treasures guarded by the monster. The worth of these treasures won’t be too different from those guarded by the previous lord.
Now, the treasure Aeolus had obtained was so valuable it could no longer be simply measured in money. The chance to battle a Titan, and to do so purely in terms of skill, was enough to drive most beings in this world insane.
“Caught in the arrangement again!” Aeolus let out a long sigh, then placed the token that could challenge a Titan into his Space Ring, and turned to head back to the ground.
Shortly after Aeolus left, above the Lava Pool, a Teleportation Array rapidly formed out of nothing, and five individuals dressed in white robes stepped out, looking down upon the Lava Giant lying in the magma pool, its core already shattered.
“Nearly three years of research went into creating this Alchemic Giant! Yet, it was so easily vanquished in its first trial, the funds the Empire allocated for experimentation at the Academy are not to be squandered like this!”
“There must be some special reason, like the strength of the being who killed it was quite formidable!”
“There’s no residue of Soul Intent Level power in the air, in other words, it was killed in one move by an entity at most at the Golden Peak. Such rubbish is not needed by the Empire.”
“That’s something the higher-ups should worry about, not us small figures. Just check the remains of the giant, submit a report, and then it’s not our concern anymore.”
“It might not be our concern now, but that doesn’t mean it won’t be in the future. Those old folks who are clinging to their positions will all one day suffer from Soul exhaustion. Then, we can take their place.”
“Watch your words, these aren’t matters we should concern ourselves with right now. Let’s just do our jobs well first!”
After a few more complaints, the beings in white robes began to retrieve the remains of the Lava Giant lying in the magma, its body gradually starting to dissipate…
In a shadow not far from the Lava Pool, Aeolus slowly emerged, his gaze fixed on the magma pool that had once again become serene, a thoughtful expression in his eyes.
“As expected, the mazes scattered across the entire Empire are being maintained by the official Empire. That’s why, even though the lord Monsters of the mazes are continuously being slain, new lord Monsters keep appearing!”
“The reward I should have received for slaying the lord Monster of the maze has been switched! Originally it should have been a token to summon the Fire Element, but it turned out to be a token that grants a qualification to battle with a Titan!”
Continuing to analyze based on what he knew, Aeolus thought, “So, to make this possible, it must be an incredibly powerful figure within the Empire! Maybe he even lives in Xena Pus!”
“Father, I will keep getting stronger until you can no longer hide from me!” Aeolus turned and walked away, this time truly preparing to return to the ground.
…
“How should I use this token?” Aeolus fiddled with the token in his hand, a troubled look appearing in his eyes.
But soon, Aeolus found he did not have to worry too much, as the token began to glow with his thoughts, Golden Thunder spilling from it. Then, the entire token transformed into a ball of light, enveloping him within, tearing through space towards the location of the Titan Islands.
Boom!
The massive golden ball of light, with Aeolus inside, crashed fiercely onto a pure white platform. Aeolus, somewhat disoriented, stood up and surveyed his surroundings. Apart from the glowing platform below him, everything around was shrouded in darkness and void.
