King of Titans and Dragons
Chapter 885 - 885 873 Escape from Death

Chapter 885: Chapter 873 “Escape from Death Chapter 885: Chapter 873 “Escape from Death Tiny golden arcs flickered in Aeolus’s eyes as his emotions surged, but they were quickly suppressed as layers upon layers of densely packed Runes Formations emerged, subduing the burgeoning power of his bloodline that had risen with the extreme fluctuations of his emotions.

At that moment, Aeolus was enveloped by a sense of powerlessness, a faint self-reproach washing over him; had he not asked this adventurer group to escort him out of the underground maze, they might not have encountered this group of ferocious monsters.

“I…” Aeolus tightened his grip on the short sword in his hand, attempting to do something.

“Run!” The struggle and unwillingness in Aeolus’s eyes were all seen by the Elf Sister, who was on the brink of death, and with the last of her strength, she roared out a single word.

Listening to the screams and roars around him, Aeolus clenched the short sword in his hand; there was not a trace of fear in his heart. He wanted to do something, but the short sword in his hand quickly underwent a new change.

The pure white short sword was swiftly covered by a black color, which then began to spread over Aeolus’s body, completely concealing him until all traces of his presence vanished, as if he did not exist at all.

“Shadow Realm!” Observing the rapidly graying world before him, Aeolus quickly deduced his situation, and a look of joy flashed across his face; he saw hope for changing the dire circumstances before him.

But he barely lifted his arm when he felt a significant drain on his strength and was overwhelmed by a wave of weakness.

“I…” The emotions in Aeolus’s heart were indescribable. His short sword had taken him into the Shadow Realm, but he was too weak to navigate within the shadows, “Too weak!”

“If only I had the power of the Gold Rank!” Aeolus thought, as the tragedy unfolded before him; the blood that splattered in the shadow was black, which visually didn’t seem as tragic.

Yet, Aeolus knew that the fate of the team that had been slaughtered by the monsters while escorting him out of the maze was sealed.

Although he also understood that he couldn’t fully blame himself because these were labyrinth monsters; so long as the team continued to explore the maze, there was always the chance of encountering these terrifyingly powerful creatures.

Since the first maze was discovered on the Senapus Subcontinent, countless adventurers entering the mazes had risen to great heights from their adventures within, but many more met their demise at the claws and teeth of Labyrinth Monsters.

The corpses of those adventurers did not deter those who longed to break free from their social bounds. The continuous emergence of adventurers who encountered wonders and changed their destinies inspired others, creating one thrilling, blood-pumping story after another across the Senapus Subcontinent.

“Thud!” A quarter of an hour later, completely drained of power, Aeolus was ejected from the Shadow Realm, reappearing where he had disappeared, while the monsters that had devoured the members of the adventurer group had already left, leaving behind just a few strikingly red patches of blood on the ground.

Once again, the short sword in Aeolus’s hand turned from black to white, casting a radiant white glow that hastened the recovery of the Fighting Qi within Aeolus’s body.

“What exactly is this?” With the glow of the short sword shining upon him, Aeolus felt some strength returning, enabling him to stand. His eyes filled with confusion as he looked at the short sword; everything he had experienced that day was due to this blade.

He didn’t understand how he had triggered such a massive change in what seemed to be an ordinary illumination amulet, but he knew that the adventure he had dreamed of as a child had befallen him that night—except the experience of this adventure was far from wonderful.

Without a doubt, this short sword was an item of extraordinary rank. Its sudden transformation to transport him into the Shadow Realm was proof enough, considering that was a skill reserved for high-ranking assassins.

“If he hadn’t been sealed, I wouldn’t mind if you threw him into the maze to toughen up, but in his current state, what’s the use of giving him a sword that can transform into several forms?”

In a small villa in Holy Flame City, a husband and wife sat on a bed, watching scenes playing out on a Crystal Screen in front of them. It showed a child enduring the dark and perilous maze, fighting for survival.

Under normal circumstances, anyone who saw this scene would be worried sick for the child within, as the kid occasionally encountered one terrifying Labyrinth Monster after another.

“This Rune sword has seven capabilities! As long as he puts them to good use, surviving in the maze should be no problem at all!” Muria explained somewhat helplessly to his wife; parents of the Blazing Sky God Race generally doted on their children.

If Michaela was a normal Blazing Sky God Descendant, she would probably be fighting with him by now. No ordinary Divine Descendant of the Blazing Sky Gods would tolerate their child undergoing such an ordeal.

“And then what? By surviving in the maze with this sword, what does he gain?”

“He will obtain the gift I’ve meticulously prepared for him, guided by this sword,”

“What is it?”

“A charm that has collected the battle marks of 372 swordsmen experts! I call it the Sword’s Holy Badge!”

“What kind of monster is this?” Aeolus, clutching the now blue-green short sword, frantically dodged and weaved through the shattered city ruins, evading the pursuit of a Gold Rank Ferocious Beast. Behind him, broken bricks and stones flew in all directions, with any obstacle in the path of the monster effortlessly overturned.

This was a Ferocious Beast with special hunting abilities, and it could also enter the Shadow Realm. Now, it had set its sights on Aeolus, looking to devour this seemingly tasty morsel of life.

“It seems His Majesty the Child has no other means left to dodge. How did this monster with so many hunting abilities pop up? It can become invisible, enter shadows, burrow through the earth, and it’s fast too, completely negating His Majesty’s sword!”

“So, it’s time for it to die!” Mels, hidden in a crevice of space, watched the Predator Beast that chased Aeolus all over the place.

“How do we take it down?”

“Make it look natural. Don’t let His Majesty notice anything off. You guys draw straws; whoever picks the short one, just transform into any kind of Labyrinth Monster!”

“What do I do! What do I do!” Aeolus, who was desperately trying to escape the pursuing Ferocious Beast with no way out, thought anxiously. The sword in his hand had just led him into the Shadow Realm, but it was useless – the beast had followed him. Then the Runes Sword had taken him underground, still to no avail as the beast’s digging speed was wickedly fast. Now the Runes Sword had changed its power, and the invisible force of the wind element swirled around him, carrying him swiftly through the ruins of the city in flight.

“It’s a Divine Artifact, yet I’m using it to flee for my life – and I still can’t get away!” Aeolus held the short sword that pulled at the surrounding wind elements, and in this moment, even had the leeway to silently mock himself.

At this time, Aeolus had begun to notice some of his own peculiar traits, such as the fact that he didn’t know what fear was. Even in his current predicament, he still maintained a steady state of mind, without any panic.

“I’m going to die; I haven’t even started junior high, and I’m going to perish in such a dark place. I’m so unwilling!” Aeolus thought with some despair, sensing the increasingly heavy stench lingering at his nose,

“After I die, my father probably won’t even find my remains! Maybe he’ll think I’ve gone missing! Indeed, my Teacher was right – never touch things brought out from a maze carelessly.”

Boom! Just as Aeolus was contemplating how to leave a final message, the ground in front of him burst open explosively, and a spiny Giant Beast tunneled out from the ruins in front of him, its eyes glowing a bright yellow in the darkness, watching him. But soon, the Giant Beast averted its gaze from Aeolus to the black Predator Beast behind him.

“Roar!” The massive Armored Earth Dragon issued a deep roar at the Predator Beast chasing Aeolus. Then, with agility contrary to its great size, it leapt over Aeolus and collided with the Predator Beast.

Aeolus turned back to look, only to see the Predator Beast that had been chasing him now in a sorry state, torn to pieces without a fight by the Armored Earth Dragon, which decapitated it after just a few strikes. Then, the Dragon Beast that seemed to have been awakened by its territory being invaded turned its gaze to Aeolus.

Aeolus, stared down by the Dragon Beast, tensed slightly, but soon his short sword emitted a faint green glow, and the visible whirl of Qi lifted his body off the ground.

Aeolus didn’t plan to wait for the Dragon Beast to decide whether to attack him. Entrusting his fate to a carnivorous beast was a foolish act.

But fortunately, after escaping some distance, Aeolus realized the Armored Earth Dragon had not followed him and seemed uninterested in such a small creature as him.

Thus, Aeolus, having escaped from danger, breathed a sigh of relief. At that moment, he heard familiar sounds of battle and roaring coming to his ears, and his eyes lit up.

Hiding his figure with the Runes Sword, he stealthily moved towards where the battle was taking place, thinking that in such a peril-ridden maze, it would be better to rely on a Powerful Adventurer Group.
