Chapter 875 - 875 863 The Eldest Son and the Daughter
Chapter 875: Chapter 863: The Eldest Son and the Daughter Chapter 875: Chapter 863: The Eldest Son and the Daughter “Death God, Thanatos! Sleep God, Hypnos!”
Sitting in the rapidly moving Undead Chariot, Muria reminisced about the scene she had just witnessed of the birth of the two new deities, and couldn’t help but show a look of yearning in her eyes.
The Hades had captured a demon lord from an Exotic Realm and, guided by the world’s Rules, refined it. After the refinement, he split its essence into two and used it as the foundation to create two Subordinate Gods for himself, the Death God and the Sleep God.
These were two Divine Beings, freshly born yet already possessing Intermediate Divine Strength. Moreover, both of them commanded duties associated with death. Needless to say, their combat prowess was formidable.
From the moment of the birth of these two Death Gods, a powerful, and inevitably dominant, Death God System had come into existence. The most distinctive feature of this Divine System was that all three Deities didn’t require the Power of Faith to sustain their divine power.
“There’s no need to say more about the Hades. As for the newly born Death God and Sleep God, should they establish their own church and spread their Faith, they should be able to advance further and become more Powerful Divine Forces, and then…”
As Muria imagined this scenario, a smile unwittingly spread across her face. Considering the attitude of the Hades towards them, the Titans, and the notification she had just received, the relationship between Hades and the Titan Tribe was self-evident.
If the Hades was one of their own, then naturally, the stronger He was, the better. However, the only problem was, “Too much power would attract the joint opposition from other Deities!”
This was something that would inevitably happen, even without thinking. The weak would band together to resist the strong, a tactic not just of beings lacking in intelligence but of Divine Beings as well.
“Let them oppose! I will just support them when the time comes!” Muria said with a smile at the corner of her mouth, confident that the Faith of the Creatures from a Subcontinent would be more than enough to support two Powerful Divine Forces.
It was only natural for mortal things to worship Divine Beings. Until now, Muria had never heard of any country daring to prohibit the worship of all deities.
To ban the worship of all Deities would not only invite hostility from the Divine Beings but also resistance from the lower echelons. For the lower creatures, deities were their only spiritual solace.
The fact that Elasia had so many deities indicated the necessity of their existence.
Take the simplest example: a destitute person, when stricken with illness and unable to afford treatment, might pray to a deity. When the prayer is devout enough, the deity might truly respond.
A mortal with no talent for cultivation who desires to wield Extraordinary powers has only one path: to pray to a Deity and become a devout Believer. The Deity, in turn, would bestow Divine Power, diluted countless times, to elevate them above the ordinary.
Priests, paladins, most often come about in this way, through the beneficence of a deity. Among them, some individuals can even reach the pinnacle of worldly power.
…In summary, it’s utterly impossible for a country to completely eradicate the worship of deities. Even the Empire that Muria will establish in the future will inevitably see the entry of churches to preach their Faith.
Religion, for a centralized ruler, is naturally the most detested existence. Muria instinctively disliked it as well but since it cannot be eliminated, the only option was to find a way to control it.
However, as for Faith, although Muria herself doesn’t need it, it isn’t something to casually give away to others either. Before, Muria had considered the Church of the Good God with whom he had some interactions.
Now, he needn’t consider it anymore. He was clear on to whom he should allocate this soon-to-be-shaped cake of Faith under his command.
“What a fruitful day it’s been!” Standing in the darkness, looking at the door emanating a bright yellow glow, and watching the Undead Chariot fade away into the darkness, Muria murmured to himself, then turned and walked through the doorway.
Then everything returned to normal. Muria looked up at the clock on the wall in the room. From the time he had left to the time he came back, only a quarter of an hour had passed. The seemingly interminable time he had spent in the Underworld Divine Nation felt as if it were a deception.
“The flow of time is different! That is the power of Divine Beings, who can interfere with and influence time!” Muria mused as he settled back onto the sofa to attend to governmental affairs.
…In the days that followed, everything progressed smoothly, with the most significant success being the wars on the Senapus Subcontinent, where almost all the Legions advanced triumphantly, facing little significant resistance.
Since the anomalies appeared around the world, there had been no Descent of the Evil God in the form of an avatar. These Divine Beings seemed to have resigned themselves to the idea of Muria leveling and destroying their Paradise.
And in the midst of these prosperous events and the impending flattening of Evil God’s Paradise, Muria’s firstborn son, who had stayed in Michaela’s womb for twenty-four years, was finally born.
Boom!
At the moment when Muria’s eldest son was born, countless thunders sprouted out of nowhere in the cloudless sky above Senapus, and a gentle breeze began to blow on the hundred and thirty Cloud Islands within. The sun, which usually hung high in the sky, seemed even brighter than usual…
“My grandson has been born, hahaha!” A loud laugh filled with boundless joy rang out over Senapus. A huge Giant Dragon with a slender and elegant body tore through the void and descended amidst the calm gazes of the natives.
This was only the first to arrive. In fact, the birth of the first naturally conceived child of Muria and Michaela had attracted the attention of many elders. On the day of his birth, all these beings who had transcended the mundane world descended.
…
“Muria, there’s something we’d like to discuss with you,” the Golden Dragon Mother said from a lower seat, serious and earnest,
As the youngest elder in the group speaking with Muria, the Golden Dragon Mother spoke on behalf of the others. Elders must maintain their dignity.
“What is it?” Muria shifted uncomfortably backward. Having powerful elders was a good thing; he could avoid many unnecessary troubles and acquire resources unattainable to his peers, but sometimes there were some troublesome issues as well.
For example, he often felt a tremendous oppressive force when interacting with these elders, which was a negligible downside. Now, with all these elders gathered together, the pressure was unprecedented for Muria.
“It’s about the issue of your offspring with Michaela!”
“Isn’t my eldest son already born? What else are you worried about?” Muria realized it was about the issue of progeny; naturally, the elders were most concerned about the continuation of the bloodline. Even those who had attained eternal life were no exception.
But the issue was that right after sensing the birth of his child, he had been summoned for this unusual and seemingly significant talk.
“Of course we know that,” the Golden Dragon Mother turned to glance at Yarista. Beside the newly minted Dragon King of the Dragon Race were the Blazing Sky God Arudiba and the Epic Titan Akmonde—they had all come.
“What we mean is, don’t you think it’s too few to only have one child?”
“Huh?” Muria showed a look of astonishment. He had figured out why these elders were here; they thought having just one child with Michaela wasn’t enough, and they wanted Muria and Michaela to have more offspring.
This urgent mood left Muria somewhat speechless; his eldest son had just been born, and the older generation was already anxious about a second child. Weren’t they rushing things a bit too much?
“You won’t take long before you ascend to the Legendary Peak, and after reaching the Legendary Peak, you will have to prepare for venturing into the Void. Although we now have safer source power secret techniques, anything can happen in the unpredictable Void. Therefore, you must procreate enough children with Michaela before you go there.”
“But with the power that Michaela and I have now, it’s impossible for us to continue conceiving offspring.”
“We know this too, so for your second conception with Michaela, we will provide you with sufficient source power!” Blazing Sky God Arudiba said.
“You guys…” Muria opened his mouth, wanting to ask his elders why they didn’t conceive the children themselves if they were so eager and willing to provide source power, but after thinking, he refrained from voicing these questions. It wasn’t his place to ask such things as a junior, “Alright then!”
Muria agreed directly, albeit slightly irritated at being coerced by his elders to have children. But deep down, he did want to have more children, such as a few adorable daughters.
“Source power is a force that can shape all things. The first time you and Michaela conceived naturally, you had no say in it, but this second time, you have the right to influence it. Muria, what kind of child do you want to have?”
“Muria, since your firstborn is a boy, you must have a girl for the second child!” the Golden Dragon Mother, who had an unusual fixation on girls, immediately tempted.
She had been crazed with the desire for a daughter. And now, a new opportunity lay before her. Although not her daughter, a granddaughter would do just the same.
“Just one daughter!” Muria shook his head upon hearing the Golden Dragon Mother’s words, looking up at the elders from the three races seated above. A strong thought emerged in his heart and then he voiced the idea that had formed in his mind,
“If source power can do anything, then why only have one for the second birth? A set of triplets can be conceived, three daughters each bearing the bloodline of the Golden Dragon, Blazing Sky Gods, and Titan!”
