Chapter 858: Chapter 846: Never Won a Fight, Never Lost an Argument Chapter 858: Chapter 846: Never Won a Fight, Never Lost an Argument “If this is the level of your audacity, who gave you the gall to invade the Erathia World Community?”
The Star Patroller saw the immense limb of the turtle-like creature slashing towards him, yet his face showed not even a flicker of concern; he raised his broad palm, and behind him, one of the thirteen light wheels spun slightly faster. The vibrant phantom of a world, teeming with a flourishing civilization, appeared behind him.
As the phantom of the colossal wheel materialized, the palm of the Giant God of Light also reached out. The overwhelming power of rules emerged, and boundless light poured from the wheel behind him, forming a pure white ocean that covered the sky and surged towards the self-proclaimed Sky Demon from the Outer Realm.
Where the sea of light collided with the black mist, light and darkness annihilated each other on a massive scale. However, the black mist was steadily driven back, while at the same time, the Giant God’s palm grabbed the turtle limb that stretched out from the mist, intending to slash at him.
Click!
A slightly grating sound of shattering rang out. With the Giant God’s grasp on the limb, fine cracks spread from where his palm touched, and then this seemingly fierce limb exploded right under the palm of the Giant God!
The Void fell into a moment of silence, with only the sound of the sea of light erasing the black mist. The Giant God tasked with patrolling the Erathia World Community looked somewhat speechless at the black mist opposite him. Due to this strange mist blocking his senses, he could not perceive the true strength of his opponent, only roughly estimating that it was at the Epic level, but as to the exact rank, he was unaware.
The attack that had just occurred seemed to carry great momentum, but after this direct collision, he knew that the opponent was simply bluffing. The seemingly powerful force was not able to withstand a single blow, just slightly stronger than those who had recently advanced to Epic. To him, this level was tantamount to self-abuse.
“I’ll give you one last chance, are you sure you want to block my path?” After a long silence, another seemingly confident threat emanated from the black mist.
“Didn’t your elders teach you to bow down before beings stronger than yourself?” The Giant God was somewhat perplexed. After so many years, he had only encountered such clueless fools when he first started his training. Now, having reached the Epic level, he had come across another one.
How did such a person become an Epic? Such cluelessness had never occurred within the Erathia World Community.
What was the reason they could spout such wild words without any advantage? Was there a powerful force behind them that allowed them to disregard everything? Or had they gained power far too easily that was wholly mismatched with their temperament?
“It seems you have no intention of yielding, so just you wait,” he said ominously.
After the threat was issued, the black mist that was being pushed back by the sea of light began to move backwards, seemingly preparing to retreat.
“Did I say you could leave?” observed the Star Patroller, as he watched the tide of black mist prepare to withdraw, feeling speechless before the Epic fool hiding within it.
“You dare to grab me? I am the Four-Edge Demon Lord of the Heavenly Demon Clan.” An incredulous voice came from within the black mist. In its World Community, all Demon or God Lords that it encountered would treat it with the utmost respect, and few would dare to offend it.
“…” The Star Patroller fell silent, no longer wishing to engage with such a fool. He reached out with his huge hand, dispelled the black mist, and grabbed towards the core of the Evil God hidden within.
“You’re courting death!” An angry Soul Sound came from within the mist, followed by the weird fluctuations of rules that emanated from it, attempting to confront the hand of the Star Patroller.
The black mist churned, waves of tremors rippling out, and the continuous mist began to collapse in large swaths, revealing the ostentatious Evil God’s true form at last.
It was a giant crustacean-like Evil God, boasting four metallic bladed limbs reminiscent of a mantis, each extending thousands of meters. Beneath its body were eight segmented legs, and its head bristled with hundreds of densely packed eyes, bizarre, evil, twisted, and utterly repulsive. This was the impression the Evil God gave the Star Patroller.
However, at that moment, one of the four bladed limbs of the Evil God was missing half of its length, rapidly reconstructing and regenerating, while the other three extended blade after blade of light, slashing towards the hand of the Star Patroller. Additionally, beams of light of various hues shot out from its compound eyes, attacking the Star Patroller’s true body, mounting a final, stubborn resistance.
But the gap between this furiously advancing Evil God and the Star Patroller was simply too great. The Evil God’s body was forcibly torn apart, and even the multitude of compound eyes on its head were smashed by the Star Patroller’s hand.
In the battle, the Evil God, who called himself the Four-Edge Demon Lord, only matched the Star Patroller in words, facing a complete routing in the actual fight. Yet even through the battle, not once did it show any sign of fear, continuing to threaten the Star Patroller throughout.
“Roar! How dare you!” As the Star Patroller ruthlessly dominated the Four-Edge Demon Lord, two more masses of black mist rolled in from the vast reach of the Void, each carrying an Epic aura, seemingly attempting to intimidate the Star Patroller.
“Is this also one of your kin?” the Star Patroller asked indifferently as he tore a limb from the body of the Four-Edge Demon Lord, ignoring his screams of pain and anger, as well as his threats, which were ferocious in appearance but timid at heart.
“You’re courting death! Alien god, prepare to fall in this starry sky today!”
With most of his limbs torn and over half of his eyes shattered, the Four-Edge Demon Lord laughed maniacally. Then, a strange fluctuation emanated from his body and a faint, brilliant light, seemingly encompassing all colors, radiated from within the Four-Edge Demon Lord.
This was almost a fleshy remnant wrapped in a carapace starting to regenerate rapidly, not consuming any vitality or strength. In fact, under the Covering of this radiance, the strength of the Four-Edge Demon Lord began to climb steadily, and he soon returned to his peak state from before the battle began.
“Attack together, slay this alien god who dares to offend the majesty of our Heavenly Demon Clan!” the Four-Edge Demon Lord, restored to peak condition, excitedly shouted. He called on his kin who had come with him to begin swarming the Star Patroller.
“So, you’re using source power to recover from just this extent of damage!” Seeing what the Four-Edge Demon Lord had done, the Star Patroller became even more speechless. However, as three Evil Gods began to assault him, he too turned more solemn. The speed of rotation of the twelve additional light wheels behind him slightly accelerated as he prepared to go all out.
…Less than fifteen minutes into the battle, among the light wheels behind the Star Patroller, ten had returned to their regular speed, while in the remaining three wheels, surging power of faith descended and was bestowed upon the Giant God.
This was a fight merely to stretch his muscles, quite boring, with no sense of danger at all. That was the Star Patroller’s evaluation of the battle at this moment.
The two Evil Gods that followed were not much stronger than the Four-Edge Demon Lord. In simple terms, they were all goods of the same level. Thus, the fight went from him overwhelming the Four-Edge Demon Lord at the beginning to him smashing the three so-called Demon Lords – no difference at all.
If there was any difference, it would be that the number of Evil Gods being beaten up had gone from one to three, and the trash talk he heard was also tripled. As they were continuously being struck, the three Evil Gods didn’t stop making threats against the Star Patroller.
After all was said and done, it was the same old lines: you will soon fall, you will feel a pain worse than death, you will sink into the Eternal Abyss… and so on.
The Star Patroller remarked that these three fools, how noisy they are! They annoyed him so much that he started to strike even harder…
…
Inside the Void Hall of Ten Thousand Realms, where the Epics used to discuss matters, nearly at the same moment, the Epic Titans and Blazing Sky Gods quieted down and turned to look in the same direction. Muria followed their gaze, but he saw nothing and sensed nothing.
“You all felt it, right?” the Shiyu Dominator spoke out. Muria looked bewildered and then turned to the Golden Dragon Mother. Like him, she too sensed nothing. This mother and son pair drastically lowered the average standing of those present in the room.
“Felt it, a wholly unfamiliar epic aura!” A Blazing Sky God, apparently on par with the Shiyu Dominator, slowly nodded. She even witnessed the battle happening at the edge of the World Community. Thus, the corners of her mouth involuntarily curled up in amusement.
Although she had lived through long years and seen many strange and wonderful things, the sight before her still made her want to laugh.
“Those are the Evil Gods chasing after me!” Yarista unconsciously transformed into her Dragon King true form within the hall, a reflexive instinctual reaction.
But as she saw the number of Epics in the hall had exceeded thirty, she calmed down again; after all, these were the beings who had sworn to protect her.
“They have been intercepted by the Star Patroller,” said an Epic Titan as he slowly rose from his Throne but did not take a step forward and sat back down. He saw the situation clearly; there was no need for reinforcements.
“Are they that weak? Just a few rounds and they’ve been dealt with!” some Epic Titan murmured.
“Inform the Star Patroller to capture those Evil Gods, we want to interrogate them!” the Ancient Prison Master commanded.
The Ancient Prison Master was not particularly surprised that the Star Patroller easily took care of the invading Evil Gods. Indeed, this being who was between a god and an Epic, the Star Patroller could not leave the native World Community to venture to other worlds but this did not mean he was weak.
How could a being who boasted the title of World Community’s guardian, the Star Patroller, be weak? Even newly ascended Epics were not eligible for such a title.
