King of Titans and Dragons -
Chapter 801 - 801 790 Im Willing to Trade
Chapter 801: Chapter 790 I’m Willing to Trade Chapter 801: Chapter 790 I’m Willing to Trade Fage was extremely fearful at this moment. As soon as he arrived in this region aboard the Aurora, he felt it—a presence, watching him with a detached gaze. When the mech he piloted activated a certain special state, this sensation grew even stronger.
Because he sensed this unknown presence, it seemed to come to his side, observing him, scrutinizing his every move; he felt as though every secret of his body was being laid bare by this unseen and unfelt being, leaving him with a sense of powerlessness in his heart.
But aside from this inexplicable premonition in his heart, his eyes, as well as the optical detectors, thermal sensors, and many other observation equipments installed in the mech, detected no signs of any life forms around him—his surroundings were desolate.
This led Fage to wonder whether there might be something wrong with his mental state. Was he experiencing some sort of psychological issue due to excessive tension? Such cases were not unheard of.
Despite the persistent sensation of being spied upon by some unknown entity, Fage, because of his exceptional combat qualities, kept most of his attention on the Dragon Turtle, dedicating all his energy to the battle against it.
And now, having utilized every combat method available on the Aurora to no avail, as all his techniques proved ineffective against the fully evolved Dragon Turtle, he couldn’t harm it, and was left nearly crippled by its counterattacks, almost losing the ability to move.
When Fage didn’t know what else he could do, he finally remembered the presence that he had subconsciously dismissed as a figment of his imagination.
“Can you help me?” Like a desperado grasping for a lifeline, Fage clung to this last hope and sought help from the invisible, intangible entity he sensed.
Fage, educated by the System as a Mech Pilot, knew what the birth of a Disaster Beast represented—it meant millions of Tidal People, susceptible at any moment, might be killed periodically.
The Destructive power of a Disaster Beast was too terrifying. To date, the Tidal People had not discovered any effective means to stop and kill a Disaster Beast.
In three thousand years, including the sixteenth Disaster Beast that had emerged before him, the Tidal People had only managed to kill three of them, each victory coming with a devastating cost, leading to severe economic crises and the brink of collapse each time.
The battle with a Disaster Beast was essentially the Tidal People piling up their own lives—ace Mech Pilots falling in droves, military units systematically destroyed. Every fight with a Disaster Beast was a tragedy for Tidal People’s civilization.
So witnessing the birth of this Disaster Beast plunged Fage into despair, for with the emergence of every Disaster Beast, countless creatures would fall, and this time, the one attracted to them was a Disaster Beast filled with intense Hatred toward the Tidal People.
Thus, in utter despair, Fage sent out this almost delirious plea for help, and then, to his utmost surprise, a response came. Moreover, the voice addressed him directly in his mind.
“You can sense me?” When a slightly puzzled voice arose in his mind, Fage’s face, thoughts, and body all stiffened.
Sensing something was one thing, but when one’s sensations became reality, that was another matter entirely. The mysterious sense he had wasn’t backed by any solid evidence and could have been a psychiatric delusion.
But when a voice resounded in his mind, everything changed. It wasn’t that his mind was malfunctioning, but rather, he truly was perceiving an unknown presence.
“Yes,” Fage replied cautiously in his mind after a long silence, knowing full well that his response was filled with trepidation.
In truth, anyone placed in Fage’s position would feel the same; the unknown always inspires fear, yet once everything becomes clear, the fear subsides.
“So, do you know who I am? To actually seek help from me.” The once emotionless voice echoed once more in his mind, this time for some reason, Fage felt an eerie malevolence within the voice.
Upon hearing this voice, he even imagined a land belching Flames, a scorched Earth; within the flames desperate Souls howling, terrifying creatures traversing through the fire, devouring Souls and emitting satisfied laughter—he felt true fear.
“I don’t know,” Fage replied tremblingly. Now that this unnamed entity had responded, the feeling that he could be crushed by this unknown existence at any moment intensified, filling his heart with fear.
“Let me tell you, I come from Hell, a Devil who delights in devouring souls,” the sinister voice continued to resonate within Fage’s mind, oozing with a seductive quality that made one unable to resist listening further, tempting the Soul to fall.
“…” Communication through Mental power was direct, so Fage understood what the entity was saying, and he was frightened, unsure whether to respond.
When the existence from legends, embodying pure evil, truly stands before you and reveals its Identity, do you have the courage to continue speaking with it?
“But rest assured, though I am a Devil, I am one with professional integrity. You may be weak, but I won’t forcibly seize your Soul. I’ll make deals with you, offering temptations you cannot refuse, to gain your Soul.”
Feeling the local native, who wasn’t sure why he was sensing him, dare not speak again, Muria, masquerading as a devil, continued to speak with malicious glee.
“For instance, I can temporarily grant you the power to defeat this Superpower Beast.” The faux Devil Muria’s voice, full of endless temptation, resonated for the third time in Fage’s ear.
“Really?” Fage, who had been frightened into silence by Muria’s words, suddenly spoke with a trembling voice.
“Little fellow, are you doubting my power?” Feeling that the native was already seduced, a slight smile crept onto Muria’s lips. “Well then, I shall let you experience my power!”
After saying that, Muria gently manipulated a wisp of his faint golden substantial prestige, letting it descend upon the native, and then watched as his body, which was probably at the peak of the Bronze-level, trembled under his pressure.
From Fage’s perspective, it suddenly felt as if a mountain had descended upon him, no, it was even more agonizing than having a mountain fall upon him. Every cell in his body could feel the type of pressure that made him want to collapse, and he felt as if he could die at any moment.
Yet, curiously, this pressure was just enough to bring his body to the brink of collapse, inflicting pain but not causing death. Although this feeling spared his life, it also subjected him to the utmost agony.
“How does it feel?” It seemed like only a moment had passed, yet it also felt like a thousand years had gone by. The excruciating, life-draining sensation that he could not escape finally disappeared.
“I feel…”
“Isn’t it nice to feel alive?” asked Muria with a hint of amusement in his tone, well aware of the significant effect his naturally emanating Dragon Prestige had on lower creatures.
Now, if he were to stand among ordinary people and release his pressure, the mere overflow of his prestige would be sufficient to decimate a city.
“Yes… Yes, it is,” Fage gasped for air within the cockpit, feeling for the first time that breathing freely and looking at the outside world was such a beautiful thing.
“So, would you like to make a deal with me now?” Muria continued the seduction with a beguiling tone similar to a real devil, though his words held a mere fraction of a true devil’s allure.
“Can you really kill this deified Superpower Beast?”
“Killing it would be somewhat difficult, but to make it disappear from this world, that I can do.” Muria, who had his eye on the Soul-intent level Dragon Turtle, played a linguistic trick on the local inhabitant.
“Is there a difference between the two?” Fage was slightly confused, weren’t they the same thing? But he quickly realized that this being might not be from their world, but from an Exotic Realm.
“For you, there’s no difference,” Muria replied. “Have you decided? Will you make a trade with me? Your soul in exchange for making this Superpower Beast disappear from this world. This deal is a big win for you.”
“May I ask, what consequence will I face if I give you my soul?”
“Let me tell you about us devils first. We are evil creatures that enjoy enslaving souls, tormenting souls, devouring souls. What fate your soul would meet in my hands? Well, it depends on my mood, but generally, nothing good.”
“Will it be very painful?”
“Of course.”
“Then, Devil Lord, please take away my soul!”
“Hmm? Are you not going to think it over? The consequences of your soul in my hands are quite tragic, you know.”
“There’s no need to think further. Just as you said, exchanging my soul for the disappearance of this Superpower Beast, I’ve already profited.”
“Very well.”
“As a reward for your resolute decision, you have two ways to make this Superpower Beast disappear. The first is for me to act directly, and the second, I’ll let you experience a higher level of power and defeat the Superpower Beast with your own hands.”
