Chapter 721: Chapter 712: I Like a Perfect Ending Chapter 721: Chapter 712: I Like a Perfect Ending “Your Highness, how much longer will it take for them to awaken?” By a massive lake, smooth as a mirror and radiating a pure white divine aura, an old man gazed expectantly at a black-haired youth with golden pupils, who wore an expression of impatience.

“How many times do I have to tell you? I don’t know. This Angel Reincarnation Pool isn’t mine, so why are you asking me?” Muria, his face showing irritation, wore a look of helplessness. “How can you, a venerable Cardinal Archbishop, stick to me like a piece of gum, following me everywhere? Aren’t you embarrassed? Don’t you think you’re losing face for the Church?”

“Not at all.” The old man, who had lived for thousands of years, didn’t seem abashed at all; his unabashed audacity astonished Muria. “If you don’t know, you can ask your fiancée: this is her Cloud City.”

“As I’ve said before, my fiancée hasn’t even had Cloud City for ten years and hasn’t fully researched it. Besides, throwing an Undead into the Reincarnation Pool is something rare, even among the Blazing Sky God Race.”

“It’s already been ten years of slumber, and so many angels have awoken. Why haven’t these Night Watchers awakened yet?”

“Are you picking a fight?” Muria glared at the Cardinal Archbishop, “Over the years, those who woke up were all Gold Rank Night Watchers, followed by the Soul Intent Level ones. So far, only the Legends haven’t awakened. Don’t you know why? The energy they need is not on the same level as those with Gold Soul Intent, so it’s normal for them to take more time.”

“But I feel that it’s almost time; they’ve even developed human forms.” The Red-clothed Grand Archbishop Asimio, observing the calm Angel Reincarnation Pool, noticed more than a dozen light cocoons floating inside, housing incredibly strong humanoid life forms curled up inside.

“But you don’t have to guard this place every day! Don’t you have duties to attend to?” Muria was somewhat speechless. Xena Pus had already left Obisdus Continent and was sailing the vast oceans, heading to the next subcontinent.

“It doesn’t matter. There’s a teleportation array. It’s just a matter of spending some crystals, no big deal.”

“No allowances, the teleportation array fees must be paid in full each time.” Muria looked at the Archbishop with an expressionless face. The consumption of the teleportation array was proportional to the individual’s energy level – the stronger the individual, the greater the consumption.

For someone of Asimio’s Legendary rank, running back and forth every day would cost so much that even a small Duchy couldn’t afford it – the economic burden could break a Duchy’s economy.

“I can afford it, I’ve been around for more than two thousand years.” The old man laughed, not perturbed by Muria’s harsh attitude.

“I can’t understand: you’ve lived for so long, why can’t you calm down? At most it’s a matter of another one or two years. After that time, the angels may have hatched by then. It’s inconvenient for you to run back and forth.”

“I don’t want to miss the moment of her rebirth.”

“One thing I should remind you of: a newly reborn angel, no matter what they looked like before, after rebirth, they will look like a young and vibrant human. That’s what they’ll look like their entire life.”

Muria examined the old man’s wrinkled face, “In other words, after your lover is reborn, she’ll look like an eighteen-year-old girl. Given your appearance, is it really appropriate to reunite with her? Even if she calls you ‘grandpa’, it seems too old.”

“I am indeed old.” Asimio looked at his hand, covered in dark brown age spots. As a human without special bloodline achieving the Legendary rank, and living beyond two thousand years, he was already considered a long-lived one.

Until now, he hadn’t used any special methods to extend his lifespan. If things continued as they were, he estimated he wouldn’t live to three thousand. He was initially resigned to a natural death while retaining his current state.

He then chose to join the Night Watchers, becoming one himself, to accompany his lover. But who’d expect that Muria would come along and cause a significant shift in his lover’s destiny.

“Click!” A crisp sound of something cracking could be heard. Upon hearing this, the old man’s attention was immediately diverted. He had witnessed countless Night Watchers transforming into angels and breaking free from their light cocoons over the years – the sound was all too familiar.

Under the expectant gaze of the old man, a light cocoon began to show small cracks. The cracks quickly spread, and a golden-haired male angel broke free from the cocoon and fell into the pool, creating ripples. Following his instincts, this newly born angel stood up from the Reincarnation Pool. Then, the divine radiance began to gather on him, forming a pure white robe over his body. Six white wings spread out behind him – it was a Six-Winged Angel.

“Has a Legend been reborn so soon?” Witnessing this, Muria was also taken aback. He had just recently achieved a breakthrough and decided to take a walk to clear his mind, bringing the Grand Archbishop to Cloud City. He didn’t expect to witness such a scene.

“Who am I?” The newly formed angel stood in the Angel Reincarnation Pool, a bewildered look in his eyes. He retained the thought process of an adult but had lost most of his previous life’s memories. The sparse memory fragments flashing in his mind only added to his confusion; he was a completely new life form.
