Chapter 696 - 696 688 Annihilation

Chapter 696: Chapter 688: Annihilation Chapter 696: Chapter 688: Annihilation “What’s this about? And who is David Martin?” Muria ignored the Soul Sound and turned to Gibbs.

“David Martin was my previous captain. He and the captain on the other side, Dale Howson, have long held a grudge against each other. Neither liked each other and both wanted to swallow the other’s power,” Gibbs replied in a panic while looking at the fifteen Ghost Ships enclosing them. “It’s over,” he thought, “we encountered our past captain’s old nemesis when we’re at our weakest. All the other captains are dead, I’m the only one left. If captured, the consequences would be unthinkable.”

“So these guys are here to cause trouble.” Muria stated the obvious question.

“Yes…yes, Captain Howson has always been wanting to swallow our Ghost Ship, and he definitely won’t let such an opportunity slip by.” Gibbs worriedly looked at the sea water beside him, contemplating whether to jump into the sea to escape. The seawater in the Ghost Sea is quite unique; after diving to a certain depth, it becomes impossible to use Mental Power to probe, making underwater escape an excellent survival tactic.

However, it’s an extremely risky method, as there are many monsters in the Ghost Sea. Although they wouldn’t attack passing ships, anything that falls from a ship isn’t spared.

“David Martin, won’t you come out obediently? Your fleet has been beaten like this, but I’d still like to see what you look like now.” A massive warship, constructed from huge skeletal bones and stretching more than three hundred meters long, advanced towards the Ghost Ship where Muria was located. At the front of the Ghost Ship, a thirty-meter-tall Ghost Captain roared excitedly.

“David, do you think you could hide? Come out and surrender to me! I’ll spare your life for the sake of our past friendship.”

“Captain Dale Howson, Captain Martin is dead,” Gibbs nervously answered from Muria’s side. Seeing that the Ghost Ship in front of them had already aimed their cannons towards them, visible Death Qi was gathering in those barrels and starting to charge.

“Dead?” Dale Howson was taken aback and fell silent before glancing at Gibbs. “What happened?”

“We… ”

“Gibbs, did I tell you to speak?” Muria suddenly interrupted Gibbs’ reply, “Remember who you answer to now!”

“I… I’m sorry, Captain Sparrow.” Seeing Muria remain so assertive in the face of fifteen Ghost Ships, Gibbs breathed a sigh of relief, stepped back, bowed, and apologised to Muria.

“Who are you?” Dale Howson asked in a harsh tone.

“This is our new captain who has taken over from Captain Martin, Captain Jack Sparrow.” Seeing that Muria didn’t intend to speak, Gibbs took the initiative to introduce him, deeming it his duty as a subordinate.

“A new captain, Jack Sparrow?” Dale Howson appraised Muria, feeling only a slight oppressive aura from the skeleton armor Muria wore, but he couldn’t gauge Muria’s inherent power.

“Very well, Captain Sparrow, I give you an opportunity. Surrender to me now with your subordinates, and I’ll give you a crew member’s quota.”

“Gibbs, tell him to clear the channel, or prepare to meet death!” Muria completely ignored the Ghost Captain opposing them, turned around and was ready to leave, considering conversing with the barely Soul Intent Level Ghost beneath her dignity.

“Th-this….” Gibbs was a little confused, but seeing that the grey-cloaked undead following behind Muria showed no reaction, he realized something. If even one of those undead could command five Ghost Ships, did the others also possess the same power? Thinking this way, Gibbs gained a bit more confidence.

“Captain Dyer, Captain Sparrow would like you to clear the way.” Gibbs, acting as human as he could, took a deep breath, pretending to alleviate his tension, and shouted.

“Who is this fool who doesn’t know the meaning of death, with only five ships left, still daring to act so insolent?” Seeing Muria turn her back, seemingly about to walk into the cabin, Dyer felt a surge of anger, “Aim at that fellow, open fire, let him taste our power.”

Boom——

Boom——

Boom——

Following Captain Dyer’s order, all fifteen ghost ships adjusted their phantom magic cannons, aimed at Muria, and then fired long-charged bombs.

“Weak and harmless attacks!” Muria didn’t even brace herself, those death-qi laden bombs stopped less than a meter from his body, making no progress.

“How is that possible?” Captain Dyer, seeing the unbelievable scene before him, all the bombs hanging a meter in front of Captain Sparrow — such an amazing scene — immediately panicked.

“Retreat, immediate retreat.” Knowing he had kicked an iron plate, Captain Dyer quickly ordered to prepare for escape. In the Ghost Sea, the strong swallowing the weak is the norm, and when measuring the strengths of both parties, besides the ships, it is also about the power possessed by the ghost ship’s captain himself.

“Let me show you what real power is!” Muria didn’t use his own power, he simply guided the Death Qi in his armor with his mental power, then poured it into these special bombs in front of him that could accommodate Death Qi. The powerful mental power made these bombs spin, and with terrifying momentum, they returned to their original path.

Hundreds of bombs, laden with the dense Death Qi that Muria had infused, left visible traces in the air, and directly bombarded the ghost ships that had fired them.

The sound of twisted steel and shattered wood came, and in an instant, fifteen ghost ships were turned into sieves. Many places were transparent, but this destructive damage, which would be fatal to normal ships, meant nothing to ghost ships.

One could see that the damaged parts of these ghost ships moved as if they had lives of their own, swallowing the howling and roaring vengeful spirits around them, and the gaps began to heal at a visible speed.

“Give you guys half a moment, deal with them.” Muria, who had taken one shot, paused and continued to walk towards the captain’s room of the ghost ship, but he gave orders to the liches in a flat tone.

“Master, half a moment is too much, just half of it is enough.” One lich cackled, and its body instantly turned pitch black. A chilling Death Qi emitted from it and then turned into a cawing skeletal monster bird with wings spanning more than ten metres, forming clouds of pitch black, swooping towards the fleeing undead fleet.

Seeing a lich take action, the rest of the liches immediately stopped. It was just a small undead ship captain. It was already very good to be able to engage a lich. To engage two liches, that would be too much of an honour for him.

Gibbs stared blankly at the scene before him. Captain Dyer, who had a small reputation in the Sea of the Dead, led the ghost fleet. Its power surpassed that of Captain Martin’s fleet at its peak, but after a few breaths of cannon fire, the fleet was silenced, leaving only the instinctive wailing of the ghosts on their ghost ship.
