Chapter 686 - 686 678 Enslaving the Lich

Chapter 686: Chapter 678 Enslaving the Lich Chapter 686: Chapter 678 Enslaving the Lich “Is there a need to disguise ourselves? We could just go in as we are.” Ilves stroked his shoulder. His wings, thanks to the persistent requests of Muria and the aid of his younger sister, had already been concealed. He now appeared just like a splendidly armored young noble going on dungeon exploration.

“We should keep it low-key, why make such a fuss?” Muria straightened his armor. He himself looked like a highly skilled adventurer dressed as a gentleman. Some aspects of his dignity couldn’t be hidden, “Your wings are too eye-catching.”

“That’s uninteresting. If our power appears too weak, all sorts of troubles will be attracted. If we show our identity directly, no one will dare to provoke us.”

“Keeping up the appearance of Gold Rank strength should be enough.” Muria nonchalantly snapped his fingers. The Advanced Invisibility Magic on the three of them immediately disappeared. Their figures appeared above the Undead Dungeon, visible to any garrisoned legions nearby and adventurers entering and exiting below.

“Report to the General, there’s a disturbance above the Undead Dungeon.”

“No need for a report, I’m not blind. I saw. Such young faces, probably some thrill-seeking aristocratic children. Those born from the Great Nobles have it good, breaking through to the Gold Rank at such a young age.”

Upon seeing the hovering trio of Muria, the general commanding the suppression troops showed envy on his face. As a child of the poor, he had only achieved the Gold Rank after turning fifty, otherwise, he wouldn’t be delegated to handle tough situations like suppressing the Undead Dungeon.

“Should we warn them? The Undead Dungeon isn’t as simple as they imagine. If they recklessly run in, they might attract powerful undead and risk death.”

“Send them a map, we won’t bother with anything else.” After pondering for a while, the general waved his hand impatiently. He initially wanted to ignore them, treat them as oblivious thrill-seeking nobles. However, considering if any accidents lead to their demise, their powerful families might trouble him. As such young nobles managed to attain the Gold Rank, it naturally pointed towards a great background behind them.

Muria, Mikaer, and Ilves landed, hovering one meter above the ground. The surrounding adventurers inevitably avoided them, casting different looks of awe, envy, jealousy, and more, predominantly awe. Though they had suppressed their abilities, which were pitiful in Ilves’s eyes, a Gold Rank adventure in a city of humans was still somewhat a tyrant-level existence. Not many ordinary adventurers dared to provoke, especially when they clearly belonged to influential noble families.

“Lords, please wait a moment.” Just as Muria was preparing to enter the dungeon, soldiers riding ferocious creatures like raptors came over.

Muria turned toward the source of the voice and sized up the soldiers. He had his first impression – destitute. Apart from their mounts being somewhat eye-catching, their equipment was pitiful. Excluding the leader who wore a set of light armor, the rest were merely donned in leather armor. What’s the use of these things?

“Is something the matter?” Upon realizing that the soldiers were calling them, Ilves, who showed a variety of expressions at Muria, asked with an unimaginably mild-mannered smile.

“Lords, our general had ordered us to deliver these maps to you. They contain the locations of dangerous undead we have located during our exploration. Please be cautious.”

Seeing Ilves’s warm smile, the minor officer delivering maps naturally felt a sense of goodwill and awe. The gesture was worthy of a Great Noble. Facing an insignificant soldier like him, he still maintained a calm demeanor.

“Maps!” Ilves slightly paused. He remembered that when he was young and entered the Undead Dungeon in his Blazing Sky God Descendant form, no one would come over and deliver maps to him.

“Many thanks.” Muria cast a glance at the nearly meter-wide beastskin map accepted by Irvicester. He pondered briefly then withdrew a piece of gold as large as half the size of an average human and tossed it over to the captain.

For Muria, who already has resources from eight worlds at his disposal, precious metals such as gold and silver, which are of value to mortals, have become meaningless to him.

“Thank you for your generosity.” The small team captain, chest swelling with excitement from the gold chunk thrown by Muria, thanked him heartily after seeing his prized possession.

“It’s what you deserve.” Muria responded magnanimously, without revealing his considerable debt.

After acquiring the map, the three men directly entered the dungeon. A wave of deathly qi confronted them at the entrance of the dungeon, seemingly dividing the boundary between life and death. Outside the dungeon was the world of the living; inside, the domain of the dead.

“Let’s look at the map. They said there were many powerful undead marked on the map. Now that we are here, we should do something useful!”

“I’ll see what powerful undead creatures there are.” Irvicester, looking gloomy, unfurled the map. He was reminded of the first time he entered the Undead Dungeon in his original form, without a map, blindly charging around. If it were not for family resources, he would have been a goner. Of course, he kept such foolishness to himself.

“Is there any information about the Great Lich?” Muria leaned in to examine the map opened by Irvicester. The map contained detailed routes, and many different sized subterranean hollows. Many of these hollows were marked with depictions of high-ranking undead creatures.

“None. Nothing more than a bunch of humans. What kind of information can they gather? If they encounter a Great Lich, I don’t believe they would survive.” replied Irvicester nonchalantly.

“What about this?” Muria pointed at a shadowy castle marked at the bottom of the map, above which was a glaring red skull symbol, “I may not be well-read, but you can’t fool me.”

“An abandoned Witch Castle. There’s no Great Lich, but it is crowded with a large number of high-ranking undead. For humans, it’s a no-go zone.” replied Irvicester flatly.

“A castle inhabited by a Lich, right? If it was inhabited, then there’s a possibility the Lich may return. If not, we can still find some clues that may allow us to track it with magic.” Muria stroked his chin, his gold eyes shining under his black disguise.

“Why are you so obsessed with the Great Lich?” Irvicester looked at Muria.

“Each Lich is at least a high-ranking magic user of Soul Intent Level. I want to capture a few of them.” Muria said quite brazenly, “Presently, Xena Pus is in great need of talents in this area.”

“You’re a Gold Dragon. Enslaving the undead is something the Black Dragon and Calamity Dragon among the Five Colored Dragons would do.”

“Why do you care? I’m not capturing the undead to do anything evil, am I?” Muria was quite annoyed with his meddlesome uncle, “Haven’t you heard of being flexible in order to get talents? As long as it benefits me, I don’t care what kind of creature it is, as long as it obeys.”

“That’s an extremely evil thought.”

“Are you looking for a fight?”
