You dare to proceed despite noticing there’s something amiss.” The human standing in the center of the city square slowly opened his eyes. He was over three meters tall, donned in a ferocious armor. Shoulders, elbows, knees… every moveable, offensive part of him was equipped with sharp blade-like protrusions. A heavy sword, as tall as him, was held in his hands, its blade thrust into the ground—a third of the blade was buried beneath him.
“What else am I supposed to do?” Muria looked at the nearly inhuman figure before him and smirked. “Am I supposed to run back and hide in my own castle after noticing something was wrong?”
“Do you think…” Muria glanced around him, “are you worthy of that?”
“What an arrogant dragon, how dare you utter such wild words at this point. I’m really looking forward to the moment when you’re lying on the ground begging for mercy.” In the intensifying snowstorm, shadowy figures emitting a powerful aura had begun to appear from the corners of nearby buildings and streets. The space around them was subtly distorted, a clear sign they were Legends who had mastered the power of Space.
“Buzz!” Below Muria’s feet, radiant Array Patterns hidden deep underground began to surface. Across the street houses of the city, brilliant Runes one after another materialized and connected with the Array Patterns, forming a massive compound Magic Array covering the entire city.
The Magic Array started to operate, drawing upon the energies within hundreds of miles, pressuring Muria. Visible to the naked eye, layers of frost began to form and solidify across the city, producing ice chains attempting to bind Muria.
“Is this trap all you’ve got after all that fuss?” Muria asked, clearly showing his disappointment, “You’re more pathetic than I thought.”
“You are oblivious to the impending doom! This Magic Array is specifically designed to trap you. Even if you were an Ancestral Ancient Dragon, you wouldn’t be able to resist it!” An elderly-looking Legend snapped.
“Why would I resist it head-on?” Muria turned to give the old man a puzzled look. This Magic Array was harnessing the frosty energies within hundreds of miles radius to pressure him, thus resisting the array meant opposing the world itself.
“Before you set the trap for me, didn’t you investigate my Identity? Didn’t you ascertain what my specialty is?” Muria asked, displaying a puzzled look.
“What is your specialty?” A burly man standing before Muria, already holding the giant sword that was previously thrust into the ground, prepared to attack Muria felt a sense of unease. Their daring move to ambush Muria relied heavily on the Legendary Magic Array beneath their feet. Without the aid of external forces and the pressure of the Magic Array, what chance stood the humans to confront a Giant Dragon of the same level?
“I specialize in array formation study!” Muria exhaled, “Especially in breaking magic arrays, particularly Legendary Arrays.”
As the faces of the surrounding Dragon Hunters changed to a solemn expression, Muria lifted his foot and stomped lightly. The city beneath his foot shook violently, with visible cracks spreading like spiderwebs in all directions from his right foot, causing the flickering Runes scattered across the city to explode. The city experienced a massive explosion. Massive amounts of cold air spewed out from the cracks, solidifying into huge masses of ice, and turning the entire city into a frozen ruin in an instant.
Muria didn’t use much force. He merely activated the minuscule amount of power that he had infused into the ground while walking, and it was enough to break the Magic Array. Such was the essence of breaking arrays—one against many.
“You…” The Magic Array that had been painstakingly set up was destroyed in an instant by Muria. The surrounding Dragon Hunters paled and the Soul Intent Level Dragon Hunters who had come to learn from the Legendary Dragon Hunters started trembling. The destruction of a city with a mere stomp, a dragon still in a human form that hadn’t yet unleashed its power, was truly terrifying.
“Don’t even think about running, none of you can escape. You thought I was idling when I first walked in?” Muria smiled, “Yes, I excel at breaking arrays, but I also have some knowledge in array formation studies. So, I can handle tasks like tampering with the Magic Array.”
“I hate dealing with knowledgeable dragons like you. The Five Colored Dragons that rely on brute force are much easier to kill.” A Dragon Hunter standing on top of a building muttered. He began to regret taking part in this hunting mission.
“Enough talk, there’s no way out now. Let’s attack all at once!”
Without uttering another word, the experienced group of Dragon Hunters were set on the task. Flames, frost, Sword Qi, spearlight, fist power, Crossbow Arrows… all kinds of legendary forces instantly reduced the already damaged city to an even deplorable state—and this was only the aftermath of the Hunters attacking their target, Muria, who stood in the center of the city.
“You lot really know nothing!” Seeing those attacks, Muria shook his head in disappointment. Then, a resounding surge of Thunder and Flames emanated from his body. A huge Hurricane naturally formed around him, weakening all incoming attacks…
“Is there anything else you can do? If not, then all of you can die now.” A huge, sturdy Dragon Claw grabbed a Dragon Hunter in heavy armor and slammed him into the ground. An almost ten-meter-deep crater with a radius of nearly a hundred meters appeared instantly; blood was gushing from the seasoned Dragon Hunter like it was free.
“Golden Dragon, have you forgotten something?” The stricken Dragon Hunter lying on the ground, gasping for breath, looked up at the massive Golden Giant Dragon in front of him with a surprisingly composed expression.
“What else?” Muria looked down at the Dragon Hunter, a trace of mockery flashed in his dragon eyes. “Oh, I remember now. You all are followers of the Dragon Hunting God. He’s your most powerful trump card, isn’t he? So, you plan to summon your Deity, right? Come on, summon one. I’ll wait.”
“You…” The once confident Dragon Hunter’s expression froze as a foreboding feeling welled up in his heart—he had seen the same demeanor in Muria just before he had broken the Magic Array.
“Hurry and summon your god, don’t waste my time,” Muria pressed his claw on the Dragon Hunter, ignoring those mildly annoying attacks around him. He just gazed at the Dragon Hunter whose armour was shattered.
“Golden Dragon, don’t be too arrogant. Be prepared to bear the wrath of God!”
