Chapter 1414 - 1414 1377 Trick and Deceive
Chapter 1414: Chapter 1377: Trick and Deceive Chapter 1414: Chapter 1377: Trick and Deceive White Clouds drifted lazily across the Sky, and the cool sea breeze, imbued with the fresh essence from the Forest, swept across the city, taking with it the sweltering heat of the dog days.
In a corner of the city, within an unremarkable Commoners’ district, a family of nearly ten people was leisurely preparing dinner in their private courtyard.
This was their weekly family gathering, where sons and daughters, working in various parts of the city, reunited, some even bringing their Children along.
Under the cover of an ancient Tree Crown, the extensive family warmly finished their dinner together before several of the young men and women hurriedly left the small house, which, from the outside, appeared indistinguishable from any other.
Only a seemingly average young man remained, accompanied by two beautiful girls, helping two middle-aged adults clean up the aftermath.
And when everything was tidied, the ordinary-looking young man dragged over a lounge chair, placed it under the shade of the tree, and then laid down leisurely, beginning to doze off.
Just as the young man had fallen asleep for a moment, the soft sound of footsteps approached and then stopped beside the lounge chair. However, the young man’s eyelids twitched but ultimately did not open.
“What a leisurely life you lead! I really envy the way you live,” a voice said.
“It’s just muddling along, Teacher,” the young man slowly opened his eyes, and in that instant, he who had looked unremarkable, exuded a fearsome majesty that inspired awe.
“Are you really just muddling along?” the handsome young man with black hair and golden pupils smiled as he looked at his student, who had just sat up on the lounge chair, still carrying a trace of languor.
In his eyes, his student seemed to have a dozen or so invisible, intangible “threads” extending towards the endless horizon. At the other end of these “threads” were entities similar to the one before him.
This student of his, who claimed to be muddling along, was still operating with at least two other avatars. If such daily activities could be considered muddling along, then there would scarcely be any Deity that could be called diligent.”
“Teacher, since you already know, why ask?” the young man replied with a somewhat helpless smile, his aura of authority gradually diminishing, returning to his previous unremarkable demeanor.
“We haven’t seen each other for a while; it’s always nice to chat and ease the atmosphere.”
Muria turned and surveyed the surroundings, the peaceful and harmonious atmosphere reminding him of the leisurely times when he had hidden his Identity and mentored his eldest son, Aeolus.
“Teacher, it’s been less than ten years since we last met, and for Deities like us, that’s incredibly short. It’s like for mortal things, meeting in the morning and then stumbling upon each other again in the afternoon.”
“But we are not those ancient relics who have lived for tens of millions of years; we’ve only recently ascended as new gods. Are you truly accustomed to the Deity’s long life?”
“Not really,” the young man admitted while turning to gaze at the door of the little house, where three women, one older and two younger, stood looking over with eyes full of concern.
Aware of the glances from the three women with whom he shared an unbreakable bond, the young man smiled at them, signaling there was no need to worry.
Understanding what the young man intended to convey, the doubts in the women’s eyes diminished slightly, but worry persisted. Returning to the house, they still couldn’t help but peek out intermittently.
They all knew their Son/husband’s Identity quite well, and were no longer surprised by the sudden appearance of a being like Muria. However, the seriousness he now displayed still caused them concern.
“Aren’t you going to explain or introduce my Identity to them? It’s not good to let them have these unnecessary worries,” Muria also noticed the movements of those mortal women. Carrying the Luo Tian Mirror, he well understood their relation to his student.
“I do not wish to involve them in our affairs; I do not want any matter related to me to impact them, for what is mere dust to me is an unbearable mountain to them.”
“Are you planning to protect your family like this forever? That could become your fatal weakness. If anything unexpected happens, it might lead you into an irrecoverable disaster,” Muria warned severely.
For someone like his student, who rose from obscurity and reached the pinnacle in a very brief period as a child of the era, even a slight mishap among those close to him could turn them into sacrifices on the path to deification, reducing them to ashes.
His student still had living parents, and even a couple of dear companions, which was quite a rare accomplishment.
After all, the ordeals faced by protagonists like him, fortified by their own destiny, could be easily weathered and even profit them, but for those around him, such trials were outright disasters.
“I’m also trying to increase their strength, but my Mother’s aptitude is insufficient, and I can only help her by constantly refining her body. And my wives, although they are quite capable, cultivate too slowly.”
Speaking of those he cared about, the young man who had appeared languid now exuded a completely different presence. His eyes seemed to sparkle with stars.
