Chapter 1329 - 1329 1314 Noble Character of Muria
Chapter 1329: Chapter 1314 Noble Character of Muria Chapter 1329: Chapter 1314 Noble Character of Muria Consequences? What consequences could there be? When deities with overlapping divine domains encounter a disparity in power, there are only two outcomes, demise or submission.
Choice, how else to choose? His true form had already stood before this deity, and although they had not engaged in battle, he was certain he could not defeat this being.
“Hmm, the race you protect is migrating! However, the new settlement you’ve chosen isn’t great, though, of course, it’s still much better than the original.” Before ten breaths had passed, the whisper that had terrified the god of the yellow sands echoed throughout the great hall, and then the guardian god submitted.
“My Lord, I am willing to become your subordinate god, and I request your protection for me and my tribe!”
The deity, who should have been high above, knelt on one knee, lowered his head to Muria, and with his words, a vast will descended, awaiting Muria’s choice.
The relationship between deities is more complex than mortal things could imagine. Even when a weaker god submits to a more powerful one, there are various forms of relationships to choose from.
For instance, the weakest relationship is a nominal submission, a typical example being Elasia’s God Series of Rage. The relationship between its chief god, the Lord of the Storm, and His subordinates can be found similar across the World Community.
Of course, the main reason for the oddity of divine collectives like the God Series of Rage is because of the stringent World Laws in Elasia, preventing even powerful deities from infringing on the interests of weaker ones at will.
And the Storm God Talos wished to gain the power of subordinate gods, but His subordinates refused to be exploited, resulting in the ridiculous situation of strife between superiors and subordinates.
Such a relationship was naturally not what Muria desired. He found this degree of control to be extremely lacking.
Moreover, the rules of his world were far less perfect than those of Elasia, allowing deities to roam freely upon the Earth and giving him space to maneuver.
Such as annihilation. In a world where True Gods could descend, a race without the protection of a deity possesses no strength to resist a deity’s malice.
Therefore, when this god of the yellow sands heard Muria’s words, he immediately submitted, because he took Muria’s words as a threat, a threat of annihilation if he did not submit.
Of course, Muria could assure that his words actually had no special meaning. He simply mentioned what he saw through the Luo Tian Mirror, which just happened to see the race touched by the deity’s Qi, and he merely spoke of what he saw, with no intention to coerce or threaten. Yes, that was all.
How could Muria possibly be such a despicable being who threatened other deities with their races? He would never do such base acts. If the god of the yellow sands harbored such thoughts, it was because he misunderstood Muria, leading to such ill-founded speculations, none of which were Muria’s fault.
“Hmm, that’s acceptable.”
Muria, who considered himself inherently kind and did no wrong, saw the deity willing to submit to him and ask for his protection. He nodded in satisfaction and then further extended an invitation,
“Hand over your divine domain, I need that part of your divine domain!”
“This…” Seeing the request, even the prepared Ugo Sosa couldn’t help hesitating. He knew what would happen next, which was why he hesitated. Muria also noticed his hesitation and added,
“If you become my subordinate god, I can find a better dwelling place for your tribe than the one you’ve chosen.”
Upon Muria mentioning his tribe, the god of the yellow sands felt a surge of humiliation, helplessness, and sorrow, but in the end, he chose to lower his head. He had no other option.
“My Lord, this is my Divine Attribute!”
With the intention to protect and preserve his tribe, the god of the yellow sands offered his Divine Attribute. The earthy hue of the Divine Attribute shimmered with an impure Divine Light and, following the will of its owner, drifted into the hands of another deity.
“Truly a dutiful deity!”
Muria held the Divine Attribute in his hand with a trace of admiration, unsure whether such humiliation endured by the Divine Being was his true will, or if it was influenced by his Divine Domain, but none of that mattered. The outcome was what he sought, and that was enough.
“Rest assured, I will do you no harm. It’s just a matter of consolidating Divine power.”
Muria understood the principle of ‘selling the horse bone for a thousand pieces of gold’; if he was too harsh on this deity now, his future conquests of other deities through force would grow exponentially more difficult.
Of course, that was what he thought, but those words were not uttered. He began to extract the Desert Divine Domain nestled within, causing the Divine Light of the Divine Attribute to flicker unreliably and cracks to emerge on its surface.
As the life of the deity of the yellow sands was tied to its form, the aura emanating from it suddenly began to fluctuate erratically. Possessing only inferior divine power, it was at risk of falling from its godly stature at this moment.
“Your Excellency!”
“Silence!” Muria, focused on extracting the divine domain, immediately rebuked upon hearing this interruption.
Thus, the deity of the yellow sands could only watch with utmost trepidation as Muria recklessly tampered with its divine domain. Even then, there remained in its heart a small sliver of hope.
But this hope was ultimately crushed by reality, as the deity watched in despair while a slightly smaller crystal was separated from its divine attribute and then absorbed by the being seated above.
Consequently, the aura of the deity from whom a part of divine domain had been plundered began to wane, and its body, too, started to show signs of change. Radiant light poured out from its form, and its divine might weakened with the continual blossoming of this light, much like a balloon losing air.
However, the dreaded news of a fall from godhood did not befall it in the end. The divine domain that had just been integrated into Muria split off again, then re-merged into its now diminished and seemingly crumbling divine attribute.
Having done what he intended, Muria gave the divine attribute a gentle push, allowing it to meld back into the deity of the yellow sands’ body. As a result, all the unnatural phenomena ceased, and the deity’s divine might and light were restored to their former glory.
Regaining its power filled the deity with joy. Basking in the undiminished strength within its body, a smile couldn’t help but appear on its face, but alongside the joy was a sense of gratitude toward Muria.
It knew such feelings were improper, but what could it do when this being was stronger, and it lacked the power to resist? Even such treatment could be considered a boon.
The deity of the yellow sands carefully savored its power, sensing no decline from before, as if everything were the same. Yet, it knew everything was completely different.
Its power was no longer entirely under its control. It could vividly feel the divine power emanating from the “Desert” divine domain, which was controlled not only by itself but also by another with higher authority.
In other words, whether it could continue to maintain its status as a deity was entirely at the whim of a certain being. It had lost the freedom of a god and had been reduced to the servitude of another god.
“I pay homage to Your Excellency!”
Casting aside its reluctance, the deity of the yellow sands knelt on both knees and worshipped Muria, accepting this outcome.
The law of the jungle was such that there was nothing to complain about. Being weak and falling victim to the predation and exploitation of others was a norm. These events were bound to happen sooner or later, and compared to what could have been, this outcome was favorable.
“Hmm, rise. There’s no need for such gestures in the future. You are a deity, too; there’s no need to demean yourself like this.”
Seeing how swiftly the lesser god had adapted to its role, Muria was quite pleased.
Indeed, with his current level of control as a god, whatever he did to it would pose no issue since the part of its stature necessary for existence was under his control.
In Elasia, such a subservient relationship among deities was unimaginable. Perfect world rules prevented powerful gods from wantonly bullying weaker ones, and even mortals, under the protection of the world rules, had the potential to confront deities.
An incident like Muria coercing a guardian deity to submit by threatening its people, in Elasia, was virtually impossible… Well, that wasn’t coercion, just a reminder.
“Now that you are my subordinate god, should you have any requests, feel free to voice them to me. I will fulfill them according to the situation,” Muria said, quite satisfied. As the saying goes, getting started is always the hardest, and this was a good beginning, but such an occurrence might not be repeatable. Not all gods would choose to become guardian deities.
“I only wish that my people may suffer no harm and cease to conflict over water sources.”
“Hmm, that’s easily done.” Such a modest request, barely qualifying as one, Muria naturally agreed, “I will send my legions to assist your people in relocating, and you can also choose a portion of your people to move into the domain I control. There, the newborns of your community will average a higher quality than the previous generation.”
“I am grateful for the divine grace, my lord. I will make arrangements once I return,” the deity of the yellow sands said with a face wrought in awe and terror, yet harboring very different thoughts, “This god’s heart is so dark. He already controls a part of my divine domain, yet he still doesn’t trust me, resorting to such measures to coerce me.”
The deity of the yellow sands’ baseless slander was, naturally, unknown to Muria, who, had he known, would not have spared a debate.
Now, however, Muria was eagerly engaging with this minor god, who had survived in this chaotic domain for a time, to understand the current affairs. The weaker one’s power, the more fundamental the information they tend to possess, for it is essential for survival.
