Chapter 1311 - 1311 1296 Summon the Legion
Chapter 1311: Chapter 1296: Summon the Legion Chapter 1311: Chapter 1296: Summon the Legion Hearing the words from his grandson, Muria’s expression at this moment was exceptionally complex, and he really didn’t know what to say. On one hand, he was relieved that his daughter hadn’t been messed up by a wild boar that sprang from nowhere, but on the other hand, he was speechless about his second daughter Tiffany’s peculiar choice in a partner.
“Forget it, as long as they’re happy.”
With myriad thoughts passing through his mind, Muria no longer worried about his daughters’ choice of partners, since it wasn’t worth obsessing over. For his daughters, finding a partner and producing offspring wasn’t a mandatory task.
They already had a brother, and the task of continuing the bloodline had been completed by him. Thus, there was no need to press them on this matter.
Though finding a partner was considered an optional matter, his second daughter was indeed too unique.
“Has anyone in the Empire been gossiping about this?” Muria wondered aloud.
“Of course, no one dares say much openly.”
“Still, speech should be somewhat regulated; too much idle speculation can be problematic.”
“Grandson understands.”
“Hmm, I’ll go find your three aunts and leave the replenishing of the army to you,” Muria patted the young emperor’s shoulder and went off to find his daughters.
Muria wasn’t unconcerned about replenishing the army that was his main purpose for coming back. But the best candidate to lead this was his grandson.
Though he could forcefully take over as a founding emperor, there was really no need for that. It would only create unnecessary strife and provoke some factions within the Empire to make undesired assumptions, leading to unnecessary incidents.
So rather than complicating matters here unnecessarily, it was better to leave it entirely to his grandson, allowing him to handle it all adeptly.
The Empire today was no longer the same as when it was first established. Hundreds of years had passed, and even the Eternal Life Beings would see some changes, let alone a nation.
Given the Empire’s complex composition, anyone wishing to take action faced numerous difficulties, even for those high above, including the emperor.
Muria’s return now was specifically to enable his grandson to leverage his own power to sweep away forces detrimental to authority, consolidating his position as the emperor.
How he managed that was his own affair; Muria did not interfere excessively, as long as the resources he needed were delivered promptly into his hands.
For instance, the airspace comprised of over a hundred Floating Cities known as Xena Pus, Muria planned on taking these Floating Cities with him as weapons for waging war in different worlds.
Yet, these Floating Cities were no longer just war strongholds. As the capital of the Empire, Xena Pus also held a pivotal political status, thus taking it with him required careful and meticulous planning.
If he were to forcibly take them without consideration, it could deal a severe blow to the Empire, possibly even leading to its fragmentation.
Muria had hoped for the Empire he founded to continue flourishing, naturally, he wouldn’t proceed with such rash actions. Thus, his best course of action now was simply to patiently wait for his grandson to handle the matter.
“Grandfather, this really poses a big challenge for me!” Seeing his grandfather’s departure, the young emperor showed a wry smile, rubbing his forehead as he felt a headache coming on.
In his view, replenishing the subordinate army as his grandfather had requested was a small matter that he could handle easily with a simple decree, summoning endless legions. Having a sufficient and stable source of troops was something any nation maintaining a peaceful and stable environment could easily accomplish.
The real challenge lay in his grandfather’s intention to take Xena Pus. Of all things, this was the hardest to manage, for Xena Pus, as the capital, accumulated most of the Empire’s aristocrats, and any aristocrat with a bit of power had established their residence there.
Now that his grandfather was preparing to take Xena Pus as a war stronghold, all the aristocrats and wealthy merchants residing there naturally had to be relocated.
The stakes involved were immense, and a slight misstep could lead to a massive disturbance. Of course, if handled properly, the emperor’s authority could be greatly enhanced.
There was also a potentially more subtle approach, asking his grandfather not to disturb Xena Pus but to take the other Floating Cities that had been built over the years.
But this would reverse the intended order, as all empires in Elasia, including the Senapus Empire, were built by Epics primarily to serve their own ends, fundamentally designed to serve Muria in the Void.
When the needs of the Empire’s founder clashed with those of the Empire, the compromise must inevitably come from the Empire’s side, not from his grandfather.
As the supreme manager of the Empire, all he could do after satisfying his grandfather’s needs was to maintain the Empire’s stable development, rather than citing the Empire’s developmental needs as a reason to ask his grandfather to yield.
…
Upon the frost-laden soil with swirling snow, a giant cloaked in armor emitting a cold blue hue rushed into a massive palace constructed of piled ice, kneeling on one knee in salute to the blue-skinned giant seated upon an immense throne of ice.
“General, there’s trouble. Messages from the imperial capital have arrived, stating that your residence in Xena Pus will be removed!”
“What has happened?”
The heavily armored giant, seated on a chair crafted from ice and surrounded by a pure white cold mist, frowned at his personal guard, a legendary aura enveloping the entire Ice Palace.
As his emotions fluctuated, several frost wolves with pure white fur and a faint blue glow at their tips turned their heads beside him, staring at the Frost Giant who had entered to report.
This immediately caused the giant to sweat droplets of ice on his forehead, his tension rising although he was well aware that his general would do him no harm, which made him even more cautious.
“The specifics are still unclear, only that this morning, messages from the Imperial Palace indicated a large number of aristocrats, including yourself, General, will be ousted from their residences in Xena Pus.”
“Such unconfirmed rumors, and you come here to disturb me because of this?”
The Frost Giant General, who led legions in far-ranging battles, looked discontentedly at his personal guard. As a general who led troops, it was natural to be especially concerned about any news coming from the imperial capital, should the conditions permit.
After all, within the Empire, legends are valuable but not inviolable—under certain circumstances, they can be erased at any moment.
“Please forgive me, General. I was merely worried. You know well how treacherous the imperial capital can be, so could you please make preparations early?”
“Preparations? For what? Even if the news is true, what of it? It’s just a residence. If the Emperor finds it obstructive and removes it, so be it. What is there to prepare for?” The Frost Giant General scoffed, utterly disregarding the advice of his personal guard.
“General, this cannot be ignored…”
“Enough, I know what you wish to say, but remember this: in this vast world, the only realm that can accommodate and promise a future for Frost Giants is the Empire.”
As the Frost Giant General rose from his ice throne, his kneeling personal guard felt as if a towering glacier loomed before him in the frost-covered land.
“This subordinate understands!” Said the Frost Giant personal guard, reluctantly bowing his head.
“Behind the Empire stands Titan, and giants only have a future if they follow by Titan’s side. Thus, the Emperor, with the Blood of Titans coursing through him, whatever his wishes concerning us, we can only happily comply.”
The eyes of the Frost Giant General shone with openness, and he said, “And don’t you forget who granted us such a splendid life.”
As the general’s words just finished, a significant spatial fluctuation suddenly emerged in a corner of the Ice Palace and under the watchful eyes of the two Frost Giants—one significantly larger than the other—a gracefully formed Golden Dragon appeared.
“Are you General Vitali Dovgon? The Emperor wishes to communicate some matters to you and ask you a question.”
“It is I. What does the Emperor want to tell me?”
The Frost Giant General, looking puzzled, knew the identity of a Golden Dragon capable of using the royal teleportation array, and that it was activated only under special circumstances, which is why he found it surprising.
“Certain matters only someone like yourself would understand, General; for the time being, it’s unwise to let too many know,” replied the dragon, acting as a messenger with a smile.
“You may leave now!” Upon hearing this, General Vitali waved his hand.
“General!” exclaimed the personal guard, his face showing his concern. As a profoundly pessimistic giant, images of his general’s grim fate flashed through his mind, based on the unsettling news he had gathered earlier.
“Don’t worry too much. This time, good fortune beckons your general,” the dragon said with a smile, the Dragon Race being notably dignified and affable.
Thus, within the Ice Palace, only the Frost Giant General and the Golden Dragon sent to deliver the message remained. As time passed, the listening general’s face gradually revealed excitement.
“So, General, the Emperor asks you, are you willing to follow Lord Mureya into the exotic realm for a war campaign?”
“Of course, I am willing,” replied the Frost Giant General without hesitation, for following an Epic Titan was the lifelong pursuit of every giant, a desire imprinted in their bloodline.
“In that case, I will convey your reply to the Emperor. In the meantime, please consolidate your military force and reorganize your soldiers, and be ready for the call.”
“Certainly!” The face of the Frost Giant General burst into an irrepressible smile.
