King of Titans and Dragons -
Chapter 1265 - 1265 1251 Giant Knight Group
Chapter 1265: Chapter 1251: Giant Knight Group Chapter 1265: Chapter 1251: Giant Knight Group Such a mighty and majestic attack of legendary level led the black dragon to believe that his predecessor of the same faction would essentially be doomed without external assistance. Even a master of space magic would find no place to employ it in the face of such a powerful strike.
Therefore, to let the undead soul of his same kind predecessor rest in peace, he now had to visit the place where his predecessor fell, to obtain whatever relics remained after that devastating attack.
Yes, it was necessary to inherit the will of his same kind predecessor. After all, even revenge required great power. However, when the black dragon saw the deep red light pillar vanish, he stared in disbelief at the spot where his predecessor of the same faction had once been.
“Where did it go? How can there be nothing left?”
The black dragon looked at the nothingness in front of him, utterly astonished. Even if his predecessor had not ascended to legend and could not withstand the vigorous energy of the attack, there should be something left.
“That can’t be right!” As the black dragon pondered bitterly, and while still being assaulted by the battleships targeting his robust physique, he suddenly shuddered as he realized the critical point.
He tossed aside the metallic debris in his hand and looked back at the place in space where he had just appeared, feeling there an aura of awe and submission.
“Lord Muria!”
The black dragon muttered to himself, feeling like he understood everything. Although he couldn’t see the noble lord, he could feel an unmistakable presence radiating from him, as impossible to ignore as the sun itself.
“The lord has intervened. It seems that my predecessor of the same faction is still alive and has not fallen.”
Realizing this, the black dragon couldn’t help but reveal a hint of disappointment. Although he received a complete education and could suppress his natural evil dragon nature, expecting him to be as amiable as the metallic dragon brothers was impossible.
It was excellent behavior to refrain from foul play while cooperating in combat, and simply coveting the belongings left by a fallen comrade really wasn’t a big deal.
And the black dragon, who had anticipated gaining some valuable items, found himself disappointed when his expectations weren’t met. However, this also meant that he wasn’t any good-natured dragon.
“However, given the situation where my predecessor has not fallen, it also means that the lord would protect each and every dragon, so now, I no longer need to have any concerns.”
Upon realizing that a legendary dragon king’s protection was assured, the black dragon became excited. With a guarantee of immortality, he could indulge in many risky maneuvers.
…
“I’m not dead!”
Intense pain pulsed throughout his body and, due to the excruciating agony, he couldn’t help but twitch. Yet, despite the pain that seemed to shake his soul, the green dragon felt no despair, but rather, an overwhelming excitement.
Being able to feel pain meant he was still alive. Initially, when he faced that all-encompassing attack, he felt his end was near, but now he had survived, and this was undoubtedly a windfall.
“Hiss!”
Grateful for his survival, the green dragon began to assess his wounds amidst the relentless pain, and the extent of the damage made him realize just how bad his situation was.
More than seventy percent of his exoskeleton armor was damaged, its self-repair capabilities nearly non-existent. Muscles and bones were extensively injured, with vitality snuffed out, and his organs were also heavily affected. Most critical was the state of his nine heads, six of which were blasted away, drastically reducing his cognitive abilities.
“It’s good to be alive; these injuries and losses can be repaired and recovered later.” After realizing the severity of his injuries, the black dragon was shocked at first, then began to comfort himself. Self-reassurance was necessary, especially since there was no other place to unleash his fury.
While assessing his injuries, the black dragon recognized his surroundings that he had grown tired of hundreds of years ago.
This place belonged to the supreme ruler who controlled his dragon fate. The reason he survived the otherwise fatal attack was self-evident.
“Harvey Carrera thanks the lord for his protection.”
Understanding the situation, the green dragon dutifully lowered his three skeletal heads, expressing his loyalty and gratitude to the great ruler.
Though not sure if the ruler would see his gesture, it was essential to show the proper respect. This was the wisdom forged by an old dragon through an age of hardship.
“Well, heal up. Remember, you’ve already died once. Next time you might not be so lucky. So train well!”
The voice, with its touch of majesty, resonated beside the green dragon’s ear, thrilling him immensely. It even made him doubt if there was something special about himself that caught the attention of such a sublime being. Not only did this entity save his life, but it also responded so promptly.
And in the next moment, the green dragon’s fantasy—that he might be the illegitimate child left behind by that great existence after a night of passion—completely shattered.
Because a giant, half of whose body was gone and who was emitting wisps of black smoke—even his charred internal organs could be seen—landed beside him, uttering painful groans.
“Mountain Giant!”
Seeing such a thick-skinned and meaty giant with half his body gone, the green dragon, with his naturally nasty disposition, couldn’t help but feel a bit of schadenfreude. But in the next instant, his mood took a turn for the worse.
For he saw this giant, who was left with barely a breath of life, express his tearful gratitude to the great overlord after coming to his senses, and then received a response in kind.
This scene left the green dragon utterly disappointed, indicating that he wasn’t special; he was no different from the other minions under the overlord’s command, who treated them all impartially.
With his delusions shattered, the green dragon took out his treasured collection with an expression of extreme reluctance and began to mend his own injuries. As much as he hated to part with his collection, the pain was too intense.
…
“The coordination between the legions can still be improved,”
At the very center of the battlefield, Muria observed everything that was happening and a faint thought emerged in his mind.
Because of his identity, the composition of the minion army under his command was exceptionally chaotic, unlike any other epic force; this included diverse dragons and giants numbering in the double digits, not to mention the Battle Beast army gifted by his grandfather.
Each of these three categories alone constituted an excellent subordinate army, a force that even epics would value; however, when mixed together, although the effect was not bad, it was far from optimal.
“Let the dragons be; the giants under my command should be able to coordinate with the Battle Beasts. I can consider forming a cavalry,”
Muria looked over the battlefield where his forces had the upper hand and contemplated some plans. Among the more than ten types of giants, the Storm Giants were naturally the most powerful, and among them, the giants possessing Giant Pengs were the strongest.
The combination of Storm Giants and Giant Pengs was similar to the cavalry among mortal troops, possessing an overwhelming advantage against other types of soldiers. However, becoming knights in the extraordinary realm was not so simple; it wasn’t just about riding atop them. Size and strength, among other factors, had to be compatible.
For the giants, the size of the mounts presented a significant problem, but in Muria’s ranks, there was no shortage of species that matched the giants in size.
However, there were indeed very few species powerful enough to match the giants and suitable for the role of mounts. To start, the Dragon Race could be excluded, as these arrogantly natured creatures would never consent to being mounts for the giants. Avoiding conflict with the giants was already a favorable outcome.
After thinking it over, the only ones that could be equipped on a large scale, transforming his giant legion into a Giant Cavalry Corps, were the Battle Troops gifted by his grandfather.
These battle beasts, more akin to living weapons than to living beings, possessed high levels of obedience. However, there was one serious issue: although there were no problems with their size or obedience, the Battle Beasts were not suitable as mounts.
For they were a species created by Muria’s grandfather, the Lord of the Wild, Akmonde, solely for the purpose of war. When creating them, this Epic Titan didn’t consider using these battle beasts as mounts.
So if the giants were to forcibly ride them, the effect would not be additive, but rather diminish the overall effectiveness, possibly resulting in a sum less than the individual parts.
“Therefore, the best way to form a Giant Knight Regiment would be to use source power to alter these battle beasts, or simply create an entirely new species,”
After not thinking over for long, Muria eventually came to this conclusion, then he filed the idea away as one of his short-term goals.
“Hmm, that should be enough,”
Muria, who always kept a tight rein on every change on the battlefield, noticed the drop in the number of rhombus-shaped metals pouring out from the Planet-level Creations and closed the space-time portal behind him, realizing there was no need to unleash more minions to bully their opponents.
“Charge in, this war can now come to an end,”
With Muria’s will sweeping across the battlefield, all the giants, dragons, and battle beasts began their assault on the Vida Core. Wherever they passed, shattered metal structures fell like rain.
With Muria’s keen vision, he could see that beneath the falling debris, metal creatures were collecting these metal remains, creating new rhombus-shaped metals. He was not concerned about this; it merely prolonged the duration of the war and would not alter the final outcome.
And when Muria too began to move, the immense steel construction on the exterior of Vida began to collapse inward, causing everything in sight to shake.
In fact, this should have happened long ago, as this was a war with several legends participating. All the metal structures within the range of the battlefield had been battered not long after the onset of the battle. It was Muria’s presence that prevented collapse, and now that he moved, the delayed disaster unfolded.
