Chapter 1238 - 1238 1225 Yuguang Civilization

Chapter 1238: Chapter 1225 Yuguang Civilization Chapter 1238: Chapter 1225 Yuguang Civilization “I don’t trust them, I absolutely don’t believe they are offering this kindness, unconditionally helping us out on their own,”

In a spacious and luxurious dining room, a young man chewed vigorously on the tender and juicy roast meat while expressing his views on the current affairs.

“When a person does something, there must be some reason driving him; similarly, if the Yuguang Civilization is helping us, there must be something motivating them, something from which they can reap far greater benefits than what they’ve given.”

“Hey, buddy, that kind of thinking isn’t good. The Yuguang Civilization is a higher civilization capable of directly utilizing solar energy. The official announcement said that the reason they’re helping us is to guard against a terrifying catastrophe that could destroy their civilization,” another youth with darker skin and already full from the meal at the dining table immediately countered, displeased.

“Official announcement, heh.” The youth began his tenth plate of roast meat and chuckled coldly, shaking his head without further comment.

They were simply not on the same level. If not for his girlfriend whom he had met on the brink of insignificance, he wouldn’t be here, associating with them.

“Li, what is this sneer for? Do you think the official announcements are all false?” Seeing the sneer that appeared at the corner of the young man’s lips, the voluptuous lady sitting beside the strong youth became indignant.

She knew the young man had an Extraordinary Identity, with access to information channels beyond their reach, but that was all. Her impression of him still lingered from two years ago; thus she merely saw him as a friend with special abilities.

“Yes, it’s false,” Li replied without hesitation. He harbored a great sense of distrust towards the peculiar civilization that had suddenly appeared in his hometown, boldly reaching an agreement to cooperate with its government.

“Officials wouldn’t deceive us; they have no reason to.”

“That guy just said it, the Yuguang are a higher civilization completely above us. They could coerce our officials with military force, and ours would have no choice but to echo them.”

Li’s eyes held the cold indifference of Divine Beings. The sudden arrival of a powerful civilization had affected his interests, disrupting the expansion of his Faith in the Archipelago World.

And as a Divine Being who shepherded Creatures, he had seen too much of the greed within their hearts. There may be saints within a race, but an entire civilization cannot possibly be made up of saints.

A saintly civilization could never Strengthen and develop, so he was convinced that the goodwill this higher civilization showed to his hometown with the sudden opening of the Spatial Tunnel was a disguise for their real intentions.

“Impossible, you’re just paranoid. Even if they did coerce our government like you say, then what? The gap between us and them is so great, what could they possibly scheme to gain from us?”

“Are you really that clueless or just pretending to be? The Exotic Gates spread across the world, now totaling one hundred and seven, are the greatest temptation. The Yuguang Civilization may be very advanced, but they still haven’t escaped the confines of material needs. The Resources from the worlds beyond those gates are enough to prompt them to any action,” Li retorted, giving voice to his perception of the oddly arriving higher civilization. He never hesitated to speculate on aliens with the worst of intentions because it often turned out to be correct.

“You think the Yuguang Civilization is helping us seal the Exotic Gates just so they can monopolize the Resources on the other side?”

“Pretty much hit the nail on the head.”

“Your thinking is too dark. Since the Yuguang Civilization arrived in our Domain, they’ve never concealed any of their actions and even made their activities known to the government. What you’re suggesting is completely baseless.”

“Time will prove that everything I’ve said is correct,” Li shook his head, no longer interested in continuing the conversation. Can summer insects discuss ice?

“Li, I’m so sorry to have made you argue with that person. It must have been hard for you.”

When the young man left the dining room, a blonde young lady caught up with him, looking apologetic.

At the table, she was the one who clearly understood his true identity because he had shown her everything he possessed without reservation.

Although she was a top socialite in high society, such status was significant only to ordinary Humans. At the Extraordinary level, she was no different from the common people.

Therefore, facing her boyfriend, her feelings were quite complex. Their initial meeting had not been like this.

Back then, there was a huge gap in their identities, and now, the gap between them was reversed.

Fortunately, her current boyfriend, like her in the past, did not disdain her Mortal identity.

“No need to apologize; it doesn’t bother me to have a conflict with such people. After all, they are mere ants that could be squashed effortlessly; my heart isn’t so small.”

“Lydia’s boyfriend is just an ant you can crush at will to you, and I’m not much different from him on the scale of life, so am I an ant in your eyes too?” The curvaceous lady looked playfully at her boyfriend, half-jokingly asking but also seeking an answer to what she meant to her now Extraordinary boyfriend.

“Of course not, how could you think that?” Li questioned his girlfriend in response.

“After all, the gap between us is simply too great, so large that we’re almost unable to continue being together,” the lady replied with a smile, a hint of bitterness in her voice.

“There’s no need to worry about that. Just wait for me a while longer, until I advance further. I will be able to share some of my power with you. By then, you’ll be just like me.”

Jiuli reassured his girlfriend with a smile. Because of his upbringing, it was hard for him to trust someone, but his girlfriend was one of the exceptions who had sincerely helped him when he was insignificant.

“But that would hurt you too much.”

“It’s okay, the impact on me isn’t large. Don’t worry, and don’t forget my current Identity.”

“I just need a little bit,” she said.

“I know, don’t worry,” he assured her.

“Are you going to the Archipelago World again now?” she asked.

“Yes, it’s a critical time for the expansion of my Tribe, and I must go back to lead the battle.”

“How long will you be gone this time?”

“A few months if it’s short, one or two years if it’s long,” he replied.

“To be apart from you for so long again?” A look of reluctance immediately appeared in the lady’s eyes.

“There’s no other way. With the arrival of the Yuguang Civilization, the portals to the Archipelago World from our world have been sealed. Each time I cross, I have to pay a great price,” he explained with a steely look in his eyes. He harbored no fondness for this sudden emergence of an extraterrestrial civilization, as it greatly affected him.

“Damn those Yuguang people!” Even though she had long known the reason her boyfriend needed to stay in that desolate and savage world, the lady still cursed.

“After I leave, please help to cover for me with my Mother. I don’t want her to worry too much,” he requested.

“I have a question, do you really plan to keep hiding this from your Mother forever?” she inquired.

“I’ll find the right opportunity to tell her about my Identity in the future, but not now. Telling her now would only make her worry every day,” he said.

“Alright! I understand,” she consented.

On the deserted pier, a pale young man looking exceptionally weak gazed at the few dilapidated boats and shook his head in comparison to the bustling scene from a few months ago.

The emergence of the Different World drew countless humans with a spirit for adventure and dreams of overnight wealth to modern cities. Despite the constant danger to their lives, people continued to flock to the Different World.

However, this situation changed completely after the arrival of the Yuguang Civilization, which was entirely superior to humans. All the channels to the Different World were sealed by them.

A small faction of humans had already opened up parts of the gates to the Different World, and the human side still retained the right to entry and exit. Nevertheless, even then, they had to pass through their scrutiny.

“Yuguang Civilization, one day, I will make you understand what the Wrath of the gods is,” the young man, whose life had been greatly affected by their arrival, thought angrily. With this rage, he leaped into the sea and swam towards the Exotic Gate that connected the horizon of the sea and sky.

Golden Scales emerged on his skin as he swam through the water, his figure rapidly enlarging until his clothes were burst by his significantly increased size. Jiuli transformed into a Golden Giant, a form incongruent with human aesthetics.

Now, the giant, manipulating the currents below the sea, swam towards the Spatial Tunnel connecting the two domains. In mere minutes, Jiuli saw a glow of Crimson Gold Color permeating the seabed. At the sight, his body involuntarily jerked in a conditioned response to the pain it had caused him, a pain he couldn’t forget. This was the barrier the Yuguang Civilization had placed in the Spatial Tunnel to prevent Otherworldly Creatures from passing through.

“It’s going to hurt again!”

As he approached the light, Jiuli, who had experienced its agony several times, clenched his teeth and suddenly accelerated into it. The Crimson Gold Color light swept over the body of the Golden Giant, and an intense, burning sensation that penetrated to the bone spread throughout his marrow, making his body tremble in agony.

However, this time was different from before; he didn’t break through the barrier smoothly. Instead, he got stuck, with an invisible force restraining him.
