Chapter 1228: Chapter 1215 I didn’t want to originally, but he… Chapter 1228: Chapter 1215 I didn’t want to originally, but he… “What nonsense are you talking about?” Muria’s face took on an odd expression, “Just because you are the reincarnation of my mother, I acknowledge you, but all of your relatives after your reincarnation have nothing to do with me; your current father is not my grandfather.”
“You refuse to acknowledge? Fine, then don’t call me mom!” Areina stood her ground. Since he insisted on recognizing her as his mother, he should also acknowledge her family members.
“Hmm, then I won’t call you that.” Muria readily agreed, he had no intention of acknowledging this young girl. If it weren’t for the identity of this girl, he wouldn’t even be in contact with her.
“Then leave this place and stop interfering with my life.” Areina overreached, further demanding that he leave.
“What dreams are you talking? When my mother’s consciousness awakens, that’s when I’ll leave.”
Expect him to leave? Don’t even think about it. Without the original’s memories, who knows what this reincarnated body might get up to. Especially under the influence of the Golden Dragon Mother, this reincarnated body seemed to have a somewhat eccentric personality.
“Until then, I’ll stay by your side, but at the same time, all of your relatives have nothing to do with me.”
“That’s just unreasonable!” The girl was extremely frustrated upon hearing this.
“Reason? Strength is reason. If you want things to revolve around your will, you must possess enough power. Now, if you want me to leave, you can—defeat me, and I will.”
Muria tilted his head, Titans and foreign creatures have their own set of principles, but in essence, it’s survival of the fittest; only the strong are respected.
“It seems Your Excellency is very confident in your strength, to speak such words even within the domain of my Frankel family.”
A ponderous sigh resounded as Muria saw a middle-aged man with a dignified appearance, his hair and clothing immaculate, hands clasped behind him strolling towards him, exuding a formidable presence.
“May I ask Your Excellency’s name?”
“Is this your father?” Muria turned his head and asked the girl Areina.
“Correct. He is my father, Duke Benedict.” A tinge of pride colored the girl’s tone. Her father, having become the ruler of one of the empire’s strongest families at just over forty years of age, was a source of pride for her.
Therefore, in her tone, there was an unconscious display of pride for her father. Muria could understand such emotions, but understanding did not equate to acceptance.
“Oh!” Only then did Muria look at the seemingly distinguished Duke, “What did you just say? Repeat it, I didn’t pay attention.”
“How dare you!”
Muria’s dismissive attitude immediately drew the angry shouts of the guards in the corridor, but it did not cause any change in Duke Benedict’s expression.
“Stand down.” The Duke waved off the knights stationed in the castle, still regarding Muria with a mild face,
“I would like to know your name.”
“You may call me Mr. Mu.” Muria stood with his hands behind his back, watching this deeply calculating ruler. He had seen many such men and had no patience for their roundabout games.
“Audacious!”
The enraged knights were again restrained by the Duke. Benedict looked at Muria,
“Since Mr. Mu has such an attitude, I will ask directly: why are you following my daughter home? What do you want to gain from here? Or rather, is there something here you desire?
No matter what you want, as long as it is within my power, I will see to it for you, provided you leave my daughter’s side and no longer harbor any improper thoughts towards her.”
“Not bad, for a father.” Muria nodded, and then he looked around, “But unfortunately, I did not come for your family, there is nothing here I desire. I am here solely because of Areina.”
“I have heard you claim that my daughter is the reincarnated body of your mother.” Duke Benedict spoke with a hint of strangeness in his voice.
“Correct.”
“On what basis? Just looking at my daughter, you think she is the reincarnated body of your mother, why?” Benedict felt an indescribable strangeness in his heart.
“Of course, by my eyes.” Muria pointed to his own eyes, then looked at the golden-haired girl glaring at him, “I see my mother in her.”
“Then why can’t I see it?”
“We are different.” Muria smiled, “We see completely different worlds.”
“Since you insist, I have no choice but to forgo the argument.” The duke sighed deeply, looking at Muria, “Do you really have to stay by my daughter’s side? Is there no room for negotiation?”
“None.” Muria said with an inscrutable smile, spreading his hands, “I’m a father too. I can probably understand what you’re feeling right now. If you’re upset, you can try to expel me by force.”
“If that’s the case, then please forgive my offense, Mr. Mu.” The august man also smiled at Muria. He wasn’t fond of solving problems with violence, but sometimes some things can only be settled by force, “Go ahead, blast him out of this castle!”
“Go!”
“Kill!”
“Slay the monster!”
When the most revered presence in the castle gave the command, the guard knights all drew their weapons and charged at Muria, ready to cut him down on the spot.
“It should have come to this sooner.”
Muria watched the scene explode into immediate hostility, and with a light tap of his finger, the Winged Serpent Dragon perched on his shoulder, which had shrunk in size, let out a fierce roar.
This dragon, evolved through the bloodshed of battle, spread its small pair of wings and fluttered them lightly. Its seemingly petite body swiftly grew with the wind, transforming into a massive beast over fifty meters long.
Its vast size instantly burst the castle’s entrance open, collapsing masonry and scattering debris, throwing the scene into utter chaos and disrupting the assault of the castle’s defending knights.
Roar!
From the outside, one could witness the imposing and grand castle crumble instantly at its main gate, turning into ruins. No sooner had these ruins formed than a fierce and ferocious flying dragon burst through the scattered stones, carrying a child with black hair and golden pupils, and soared into the heavens.
Following closely beneath it, dozens of knights in full armor, wielding weapons, took to the skies in pursuit, seemingly determined to enact a dragon-slaying battle above the castle.
But the battle had hardly begun when it swiftly drew to a close. Golden light sparked in the sky, then rapidly expanded, coloring everything within a thousand meters in a golden hue.
An oppressive might suffocating mortals filled the space, as if something had been drawn out from the atmosphere. The knights who had ascended through strength tumbled from the sky, crashing to the ground and forming small craters upon impact.
In comparison, the dragon circling above the castle appeared even more agitated. Its gaping maw lined with two rows of serrated teeth opened wide, and scorching dragon flames surged out, engulfing the area below.
The intense heat melted the stone-strewn ruins, giving rise to golden-red lava, creating a forbidding zone of life akin to the mouth of a volcano. Within this desolate domain, however, there was one area that remained intact.
It was the spot where Duke Benedict stood; the tiles beneath his feet had survived the sudden eruption of conflict unscathed, and his daughter Areina was protected at his side, equally untouched.
“Is it this sovereign beast that compels you to submit?” Duke Benedict, seeing his family’s knights falter in battle, did not show much change in expression but his face was rife with contemplation.
The seemingly peaceful castle he was in had already activated its defense system, designed especially for giant creatures and armies, with long-range weapons trained on the evil dragon above and firing away. Most of these attacks, however, turned ineffective before even hitting their target.
“Yes, it is this sovereign beast. But it seems that the child, who insists on calling me mother, is even stronger.”
Areina, who grew up in the Imperial Capital and was no stranger to wonders, gazed at the golden spherical domain in the sky, her expression grave, “This is probably close to the level of a deity, isn’t it!”
“Close to a deity?” Hearing his daughter’s words, the head of the Frankel Family sighed helplessly, then turned to look at his daughter, “What do you think of this peculiar child? How does he conduct himself?”
“Not bad. Although he’s a bit arrogant in his speech and actions, he’s upright and never hides anything,” Areina pondered seriously and then replied.
“In that case, do you think you can tolerate his company in the long term?”
“Father, what do you mean by that? Didn’t you say we were going to blast him out?” The girl’s heart suddenly filled with a bad premonition upon hearing her father’s words.
“I did say that, but looking at the situation as it is now, it won’t be easy to do! With near-deity strength, even if we use all of our family’s might to drive him off, what good would it do? If he wishes to return, he could easily do so; we can’t stop him!”
“So, father, what are you suggesting?” The girl cocked her head, looking at her father with a somewhat disdainful gaze, knowing full well what he was getting at.
“I wasn’t keen on the idea, of course, but since this child is so powerful, and he hasn’t shown any malice towards you or our Frankel Family, perhaps you could just bear with it and acknowledge him as your son for now. How about that?”
Duke Benedict asked his daughter tentatively, “Anyway, from your attitude, it seems you don’t dislike him that much.”
“What! Are you really my father?” The girl glanced sideways at the head of the Frankel Family.
