Chapter 1172 - 1172 1159 Overlapping Worlds

Chapter 1172: Chapter 1159: Overlapping Worlds Chapter 1172: Chapter 1159: Overlapping Worlds The girl did not give it much thought and obediently surrendered control of her body, for she sensed that this being was merely asking symbolically. If she were to refuse, she could not imagine the consequences.

The moment the girl agreed to hand over control of her body, the girl, whose appearance seemed not to have changed at all, suddenly exuded a different aura, one that was sharper and more fervent.

“Sigh, I really don’t want to take over.”

Muria sighed while moving what can be described as a delicate body; he was actually reluctant to touch this female human body. Its structure, so different from that of a male’s, was not really suitable for battle.

But he really did not expect this girl, who seemed to have been through numerous battles, to be so weak. Even after bestowing upon her inhuman strength, she still couldn’t defeat these twisted evil spirits, which she completely overpowered in terms of attributes.

“Let me give you a kind reminder, pay close attention to how I battle next. You only get this one chance.”

Muria, empowered by his strength, walked out of the ruins with his almost healed body. As he moved, however, he frowned slightly. The body’s chest was bound too tightly, causing a sensation of shortness of breath and chest tightness.

“Strange human! Die!”

Not long after setting out, Muria saw the twisted evil spirits that were pursuing him. In the girl’s earlier reckless assault, the evil spirit sensed danger, so after temporarily repelling the girl, it immediately followed.

Accompanied by the grey Vengeful Spirits’ wind of Death Qi, an attack capable of plundering the vitality of living creatures, as this gust brushed past the girl, its Death Qi just dissipated into nothingness, completely unable to take even a trace of life force from the girl.

“Monster from another world! Hah!”

Looking at the twisted monster before him, Muria, who controlled the girl’s body, chuckled lightly. His epic perspective allowed him to see through the monster’s true nature at a glance.

It indeed was a Spiritual Entity, no mistake there, but its form gave off a peculiar sense of disharmony with its surroundings, a distortion that changed its shape and suppressed some of its power.

This distortion and suppression are characteristic of Otherworldly Creatures that have entered the world through unlawful means. In short, this being that was rampaging within the city was an invader from another world.

Merely an invader from another world, Muria could be certain of it, for he did not sense the presence of an Evil God within it.

This was what intrigued Muria the most: a mere intelligent Vengeful Spirit, daring to appear in another world through unlawful means. This possibility alone was enough to draw Muria’s true self to descend here.

Realizing that his aura attack was useless against Muria, the Evil God extended its twisted Claws and aimed down at Muria, bringing a deathly breeze with it.

Clang!

A light golden Sword Light flashed by, carrying an extremely dominant flame attribute attack, which directly severed a Claw of the Spirit’s corporeal and ethereal body.

Then, the girl’s body drifted weightlessly, effortlessly avoiding the evil spirit’s subsequent attack, and then she took to the sky, her foot smashing directly onto the evil spirit’s head.

Boom!

A visibly expanding ring of Qi exploded beneath the girl’s long, straight legs as Crimson Gold Flames sparkled, and the wailing evil spirit’s head just blew up in the air.

Not waiting for the now vitally wounded evil spirit to recover its body, the girl leveraged the gravity of her descent to split the evil spirit’s body in two with her Dragon Pattern Straight Sword.

“It’s over; the rest is up to you to resolve,” Muria, having dealt with the greatest threat, did not hesitate to return control of the body to the girl.

The reason he took action was because this evil spirit posed a threat to the girl who had summoned his will to this world. Until he could deduce the coordinates of this world, nobody was allowed to touch her.

“Oh!” The somewhat bewildered girl regained control of her body, then stared blankly at the disintegrating copse before her, never having thought she would one day wield such formidable power.

“What should I do now?” The girl, realizing she had attracted quite a bit of attention, couldn’t help but ask Muria for guidance, a situation she had never encountered before.

“Do whatever you want, but keeping yourself alive is the priority. Your life now holds an importance beyond your imagination,” Muria, who was about to successfully deduce, responded. The girl held vital significance for him, she was his only link to this world.

If anything were to happen to the girl, even if he grasped the world’s coordinates, it would complicate matters for him to do anything about this world.

“How am I supposed to explain the source of this power to others? Just tell them the truth?”

The strongest evil spirit had been slain, and the remaining ones were not a concern. The humans living in this city were not truly feeble; they had some strength. Thus, the girl who found herself with nothing much to do began to ponder the potential upcoming events.

“Do not reveal my presence, how you explain it is your concern,” Muria sternly warned the girl, ready to stir up trouble.

“But with this power I now have, no matter how I try to explain it, it won’t make sense, will it? Many people know my strength.”

“If there is no explanation, then don’t offer one. Face all questions with silence. Power is power. No matter how the outside world judges or views you, the power I have bestowed upon you will not change because of it. There’s truly nothing to worry about with this kind of problem. Don’t underestimate your fellow people; they will come up with a logically sound and very reasonable explanation for you.”

“Is that really okay?”

“Of course,” Muria confirmed. The ability of intelligent creatures to fill in the gaps with their imagination is quite powerful. When faced with unreasonable events happening around them, they often concoct an explanation that seems very plausible based on their understanding.

Three days later, the girl who was defined by the outside world as having a special constitution and who had awakened it in a life-and-death crisis lived in a brand new villa. With a perplexed expression, she looked up at the sky,

“Your Highness, why did you answer my request at that time and bestow power upon me?”

“Why? Because I was bored!” Muria, whose will had not yet been expelled by the World Law, gave the most truthful answer.

Unfortunately, sometimes the truth is not believed, just like now. After hearing Muria’s explanation, the girl’s face twisted into a stiff smile, and her eyes showed deep concern.

No pies fall from the sky. Although the girl had never heard this phrase, she understood the concept. A powerful being she couldn’t comprehend had suddenly descended, saved her life, and even granted her power.

As a price, all she had given was an occasionally uncontrollable eye. Compared to what she had gained, such a cost seemed trivial. The being claimed that the only reason for doing this was out of boredom, a reason the girl could not accept.

“Humans, when idle, tend to overthink,” Muria sighed, aware of all the girl’s reactions and even her thoughts,

“Even if you imagine me as a being with ulterior motives, you should consider whether there is anything on you worth my scheming for, and reflect on whether you have anything that would make a being like me want to play tricks on you.”

“I’m sorry, Your Highness! I…” The girl, who had had nothing to do these past few days and had grown increasingly speculative as she reflected, felt somewhat ashamed. After thinking it through carefully, she realized she had indeed overthought things. A powerful being like this, what could it possibly want from her, an orphaned girl with no parents?

To lust after her body? Nonsense!

“There’s no need to apologize. Anxiety about the future is just an instinct of living beings. I can tell you very clearly that I have no interest in you, your kind, or your world,” Muria said, quite pleased after having acquired quite a bit of information about this world through the girl.

“I’m interested in the evil spirits you so deeply hate.”

“Ah!” The girl was a bit surprised by Muria’s answer.

“I can tell you something you absolutely cannot grasp now. The evil spirits you hate come from creatures of a Different World, not a special species that originally existed in your world.”

“What?” the girl exclaimed in shock. She suddenly stood up, her fists clenched so tightly that her knuckles turned white, then slowly relaxed.

“Surprised? If you observe carefully, you’ll realize that the first and earliest records of observing evil spirits date back seven hundred years. To humans, seven hundred years is an extensive period, so long that the special groups among you have become accustomed to the presence of evil spirits, thinking their existence is natural.

But if you broaden your perspective of time, you’ll find that the emergence of evil spirits is very abrupt and unreasonable. With little change in the environment, suddenly, there’s a new kind of monster!”

“Why did these monsters appear in the world?” the girl asked, confused by the sudden revelation.

“There is no why, it’s just that your world is unfortunate enough to be relatively close to the world where evil spirits reside, but it’s not simply a matter of proximity. After all, the number of evil spirits appearing in your world has been increasing over the years.”

“Increasing…” The girl, who had not considered this before, was momentarily silent. Then she looked up again and asked Muria with utmost seriousness, “Can these monsters be completely killed?”

“Of course, they can,” Muria sneered. “But you can’t do such a thing. However, I can.”

“Then that’s enough.”
