Chapter 1168 - 1168 1155 The God of Myriad Realms

Chapter 1168: Chapter 1155: The God of Myriad Realms Chapter 1168: Chapter 1155: The God of Myriad Realms Humans regard food as essential; for all mortals who need to eat daily to sustain life, food is life itself. This was even more so for the Upright Apes who were still in the primitive tribal era, whose only source of food came from hunting.

Every Upright Ape subconsciously believed that the Lord of the Sky they sacrificed to would never respond to their acts of sacrifice, as it had always been so.

Therefore, the Upright Apes generously offered all the best food they had hunted that month as a sacrificial offering to the Lord of the Sky.

After all, this food, once the sacrifice was over, would remain untouched and be used for the upcoming grand sacrificial ceremony’s feast, eventually ending up in their own stomachs.

But this time the sacrifice was completely different from before; truly, a presence very similar to the Lord of the Sky they worshiped had descended its will.

To stay longer, the majestic will that had descended began plundering the spiritual substances around the altar, constructing a carrier for its own will that would allow it to remain longer.

Therefore, tens of thousands of Upright Apes, centered around the altar and kneeling on the ground, watched helplessly as the food they had prepared for the upcoming festive feast, and even for mating, turned to flying ashes.

Thus, feelings of indignation and dissatisfaction grew in the hearts of these Upright Apes. Living on a barbaric land, although their tribe’s geographical environment was relatively safer compared to other tribes of their kind, it was only relatively safer, and every Upright Ape had experienced the taste of hunger during growth.

And for all Upright Apes, sacrifice represented a beautiful ritual associated with eating to their fill, and this was what each Upright Ape looked forward to most, as being able to eat to their fill was already the greatest happiness for them.

But the being that had descended took away their greatest happiness, all the food turned to ashes; this not only meant there would be no grand ceremony to follow, but also that they would have to go hungry in the coming days.

Some irritable Upright Apes wanted to stand up and question the Upright Ape Priest presiding over the sacrifice as to why he had not explained beforehand that this sacrifice would be different from the others.

If it had been explained beforehand, they would never have moved all their belongings out next to the altar, but would have symbolically offered some prey instead.

But accompanying the majestic will that descended was also a vast and profound oppressive force that matched it, crushing all of the Upright Apes to the ground, forcing them to maintain the humblest of kneeling postures.

When most of the Upright Apes felt this oppressive force, they could only tremble, and any resentment in their hearts disappeared without a trace the moment the oppressive force arrived.

Meanwhile, unlike the Upright Apes below who were pressed to the ground unable to move, the priest on the altar, dancing the Dance of the Sacrifice with a group of female Upright Apes, was also dumbfounded and kneeling on the ground.

He completely did not understand why this sacrifice, which was proceeding well, suddenly turned into such a debacle. What part went wrong? Was there something wrong with the Dance of the Sacrifice he performed?

But, what the so-called Dance of the Sacrifice essentially was, the Upright Ape as a priest knew better than anyone. Although each generation of priests had their own Dance of the Sacrifice exclusive to them,

that was just a nice way of putting it. In reality, there were no strict rules for the Dance of the Sacrifice. Each generation of priests would improvise their own set of Dance of the Sacrifice based on their preferences, then select some female Upright Apes to uniformly dance this practically pointless dance.

Regardless of the confusing and complex feelings in the Upright Ape Priest’s heart at that moment, the majestic will that descended from beyond the heavens, following the prayers, having gathered enough spiritual substances, began constructing its own carrier.

The Spiritual Fire surged to a hundred meters, appearing even more enormous than the altar, swaying and transforming into golden, filled with a sense of divine majesty, it began constructing complex spiritual structures.

Accompanied by a deep and soaring Dragon Chant, the Golden Dragon King on the altar spread its wings, its body constructed of flames not emitting any heat but instead giving off a faint warmth, much like the sun on a winter’s day.

“What is this?” Muria, complying with the prayers of the sacrifice and pursuing the presence of power similar to its own, then projecting its consciousness into the world, gazed down upon the Upright Apes, “Planet of the Apes rising?”

“Hmm!” The Golden Giant Dragon hovered above the altar, lifting its Dragon Head high, sensing the elemental fluctuations around it, and gathering all the information. Thus, moments later, it understood.

“Still a barbaric world that has just begun, with such wild Elements, it must still be in the Era of Giant Beasts, since only creatures with huge bodies and resilient physiques could wield extraordinary powers in such a world.”

“However, the era belonging to the Giant Beasts should be ending soon, as the fire of intelligence has already been kindled.”

The Golden Giant Dragon swooped down on the tens of thousands of Upright Apes below. The Dragon’s Eyes composed of flames showed an eager expression, “Interesting, these Giant Apes will very likely evolve over the coming years to lose most of the hair on their bodies, gain stronger intelligence, and become this world’s only Intelligent Races, that is, the future humans of this world.”

These humans are not those humans; human is a fairly broad term. Any intelligent humanoid Intelligent Creatures can be called human. The human races of two worlds are two completely different humanoid Intelligent Creatures.

Just like these Giant Apes before our eyes, their adult individuals are all over five meters tall, and even as the years pass, if they evolve towards intelligence rather than strength, their stature will not decrease much.

For many humans in various worlds, the future humans in this world are essentially giants, whereas now they are Giant Apes.

“Why do you harbor dissatisfaction?”

The Golden Dragon circling above the altar sensed the emotions emanating from the Upright Apes below, feeling somewhat puzzled. Normally, when supplicants see a deity manifest, shouldn’t they be cheering and jumping for joy? Why this attitude now?

“Ah!” The Upright Ape Priest, kneeling at the altar and witnessing the flames before him form into a Golden Dragon, was startled by the majestic voice that suddenly echoed in his mind.

He carefully recalled the murals engraved on the walls of his Stone House, hoping to find records of his ancestors encountering the manifestation of the Lord of the Sky.

He had no experience in handling such events, but it was clear, no matter how much he rummaged, he could find no such record—after all, the so-called Lord of the Sky was a figment of his tribe’s ancestors’ imaginations.

“Great Lord of the Sky…” After pondering for a long while, the Upright Ape Priest hesitantly began to speak.

In Muria’s eyes, it was akin to a Giant Ape kneeling on the ground and roaring up at him, but that did not impede his understanding, for he was communicating directly with it on a soul level.

He also understood the dissatisfaction in the hearts of the tens of thousands of Giant Apes, whom he had forced to kneel by his imposing presence, simply because this priest of the Giant Apes unexpectedly had no thought of covering for his tribe.

“Being dissatisfied with the deities because you are about to starve is indeed a simple and primitive reaction.”

Understanding their reason, Muria couldn’t help but chuckle softly, then he lowered his Dragon Head, gazing at the Upright Ape Priest below,

“You pray to me and offer sacrifices, and I, in response to your requests, descend to accept your offerings. In exchange, I will fulfill your prayers.”

“Ah!” The priest looked bewildered. He had braced himself for the Lord of the Sky’s anger, but had not expected this mighty being’s demeanor to be so mild.’

“So, your wish is to not starve, correct?”

“Yes.” Hearing the Lord of the Sky’s query, the priest, also saddened by the spiritual essence drained from the food around the altar, absent-mindedly nodded.

“So you really don’t know how to pray to a deity!” Seeing the confused and bewildered Ape Priest, Muria found it somewhat amusing, “Praying to a deity is not done like this.”

Muria, considering himself a deity, felt nothing amiss, because in a sense, Epics are deities unbound by anything.

Dependent on the Power of Faith for existence, and then mastering the World Laws, a deity becomes a god of a world. Observing the World Laws and then creating worlds on their own, gathering mighty power within themselves and freely roaming the Void, are considered gods of all worlds.

Of course, the Ancient Gods, also gods of all worlds, were born naturally at the dawn of the world, whereas Epics were achieved through later cultivation.

“But since you have confirmed that your tribe’s desire is to not starve, I will only fulfill this wish.”

Muria, fully qualified to act as a deity, felt it was his responsibility to reciprocate after receiving the offerings from these Upright Apes.

After all, he had drained the spiritual essence from the tribe’s food supply for the next few days, and the Power of Faith accumulated by the tribe in their prayers to the so-called Lord of the Sky, along with the spiritual essence, were all used as a temporary vessel for his descending will.

Taking advantage without acting is not what a benevolent god does, although strictly speaking, he didn’t technically benefit from the offerings of these Upright Apes, but it did amuse him during a moment of boredom.

With a mighty and profound Dragon Chant,

the Upright Ape Priest watched as the Lord of the Sky, formed of golden flame, began to show hints of azure starting from the eyes, which quickly spread throughout its entire body.

Then, a refreshing and natural breath of life emanated from the now azure Giant Dragon before him, and subsequently, within a hundred miles, all vegetation within sight began to flourish.
