King of Titans and Dragons -
Chapter 1133 - 1133 1120 Creation and Destruction
Chapter 1133: Chapter 1120: Creation and Destruction Chapter 1133: Chapter 1120: Creation and Destruction “How is the remodeling of the Divine Machine going?”
“Reporting to your honor, we have produced a prototype and are currently conducting field tests. Once the tests are completed, we will rapidly equip every Divine Machine User with it.” The chief commander standing before Muria respectfully spoke.
Although his understanding was not fully comprehensive, what he knew was sufficient to maintain his utmost reverence. This being truly possessed the power to save their world.
So, he summoned his courage and personally went to inquire about how to address a being known as dragon that would appropriately express his respect for this entity.
“Hmm, the sooner, the better; don’t drag it out too long.” Muria responded casually, his attention entirely focused on tree planting, which was critical for the success of his plans.
“Yes!”
“Now you must proceed to the second task.”
“Your command, please.”
“From now on, unconditionally accommodate all Scavengers outside the base city,” said Muria in a nonchalant tone.
“This…” The base commander was astonished and looked up, then his face showed difficulty, “Your honor, Glory Base City was designed to accommodate only 80,000 people at its inception, but the actual population has now reached nearly 120,000, almost one and a half times the design standard.”
Although, as a subordinate, one should execute all commands from superiors with all one’s capabilities and solve any difficulties with the commands on one’s own, this command was truly beyond his capacity to solve.
If he tried to please this god-like savior by forcefully accepting the task, the end result would inevitably be that he messed everything up and angered this being equivalent to a deity.
Rather than that, it was better to bear the pressure and speak out about the problems he could not solve. Knowing that he could not complete a task yet still stubbornly taking it on was a rather foolish act.
“Hmm, I know. The existing base city cannot meet the housing needs after accommodating the Scavengers, but we can expand the existing base city,” Muria stated.
Expanding to solve housing needs was a matter that required no thought. Every base city was constantly considering how to expand.
However, expansion is not just talk; the larger scale of the base city could house more of the wandering population, but it would also invite more and stronger attacks from Desolate Beasts. Without adequate defensive capabilities, expansion was akin to seeking death.
But the situation was different now; with such a god-like presence overseeing, Glory Base City could completely handle the external pressures post-expansion.
However, there was a very critical fatal issue; the unconditional accommodation of Scavengers loitering around the base city. Whoever among the base city’s upper echelon issued such a command would be rebuked or even directly replaced.
“Your honor, although there are no precise data, a rough estimate from the database suggests that once we accommodate without limit, it is a conservative estimate that the population of the base city would soon triple or more. The housing issue can be resolved through expansion.
But food is a big problem. We are currently implementing a food rationing system. With the population tripling, everyone would face starvation, and famine would inevitably occur within three months.”
“Hmm, are there any other problems you feel cannot be resolved?”
“There are issues with management, as the Scavengers living outside the base city are different from the humans who have long resided within,” said the base commander, hesitating a bit as if weighing whether to speak his mind. But he gritted his teeth and quickly made a decision,
“These Scavengers are, strictly speaking, wild beasts in human skin; they possess no integrity, humility, or moral concepts. A small number would not pose a problem, but unlimited accommodation would definitely cause big issues.”
“Hmm, I understand. You lack the capability to accommodate Scavengers on a large scale,” Muria nodded, showing understanding for these human difficulties, “Then just handle their accommodation and settling, and leave the rest to me.”
“Yes.” Hearing this, the commander felt relieved. The current task requirements were already quite low. The real challenges were in subsequent management and food supplies, but since this being had taken over, they no longer needed to worry.
“Hmm, how to solve the food issue?” Muria pondered deeply after the base city’s chief commander left. Security management and such were not issues in his eyes; the real challenge was food.
True, the seemingly trivial issue of food had stumped Muria. His power, as a Titan, leaned towards destruction, and after his ascension to Epic status, this destructive power became even stronger.
Muria, in this aspect, was also a leader. As an Epic Titan, he had also devoured the residual power of another Epic.
The Seven Disasters Demon, just by hearing the name, and knowing his past of going against a Blazing Sky God, it was clear what path of empowerment this Epic had chosen. His power, undoubtedly, also leaned towards destruction rather than creation.
This world, which had been eroded by the Evil God and had already undergone a major species catastrophe, was not normally able to cultivate crops on a large scale.
The base city cultivated crops by simulating the environment before the major species catastrophe. This method produced a rather limited yield, satisfying only a small portion of the population, while the majority still consumed synthetic food.
Even without considering the external environment, the current base city still needed time to set up large-scale artificial planting bases to obtain food and raw materials for synthetic food.
During this time, food had to be provided by Muria. In this regard, Muria found himself at a loss for a particularly good solution.
His Semi Plane had a total area of over three million square kilometers, comparable to some of the Inferior Divine Beings’ Divine Kingdoms, but despite its large size, it lacked space for ordinary plants.
His Semi Plane was filled with elite legions in a Sleeping State, a few extraordinary plants, and a large amount of Elemental Crystals for emergencies, none of which ordinary humans could use.
In the world of Elasia, even a deity who had just touched on Inferior Divine Power related to [Harvest], [Planting], [Farming], could easily solve the mortal’s food problem.
But the current Muria couldn’t. Of course, this did not mean that other Epics couldn’t; it merely showed that the current Muria was still too naive in the ranks of Epic beings.
Indeed, everything a Deity could do, an Epic, willing to spend the effort and time, and invest resources, could also achieve. However, the reverse was not true; the divine priesthood determined the limit of a deity’s power and the domains they could touch.
An Epic, compared to a deity, was more versatile, though this versatility came at a cost. However, compared to them, a deity didn’t even have the opportunity to pay such a price.
“The Earth that nurtures all and the Water that hydrates everything, I can evolve them,” Muria thought, frowning as he raised his palm. A small muddy-yellow earth sphere and a clear, pure water sphere appeared above his palm, circling and twining around each other endlessly.
This was power Muria had not controlled before devouring the Demon of the Seven Disasters. For him, the laws of water and earth represented a wholly new domain.
In the body of the Demon of the Seven Disasters, the laws of water and earth were meant for destruction. The law of water symbolized a tsunami, while the law of earth represented earthquakes and other major natural disasters. For the Demon of the Seven Disasters, power was meant for destruction.
But in Muria’s eyes, these two elemental laws were more suited for creation. Power itself did not distinguish between good and evil; the difference lay entirely with the user.
Any power, used for good, is good; used for evil, it is evil. Whether it wreaks havoc or blesses all living beings entirely depended on the thoughts of those with tremendous power.
“Power control doesn’t necessarily require combat,” Muria marveled as he watched the two small spheres, the muddy yellow earth and the pure blue-tinted water, collide with each other.
A feeling of immense comfort emanated from them, a power of life. But as this power rapidly grew, as though about to breed something new, it suddenly collapsed, much like a building without a foundation.
“Creating from the Void, I am still far from that realm,” Muria murmured to himself, looking at the unimpressive mud sphere in his hand, unconcerned about this failure.
It was just a minor attempt after all; failure was normal, whereas success would have been miraculous.
“For now, I should learn how to use these powers to accelerate the growth of plants!”
…
On the barren land, some very ordinary crop seeds were sown by a small hand. Clear water spontaneously generated from the sky and fell, nourishing the earth.
Then, right above this desolate land, a small fireball condensed. The color of the fireball quickly deepened, and its edges began to emit a faint golden hue, the light that fell upon the ground indistinguishable from sunlight.
Then, at a speed visible to the naked eye, crisp, tempting wheat seedlings sprouted from the earth, growing remarkably well and appearing to be extremely heartening.
However, in this patch of land where time seemed to have accelerated hundreds of times, just as the wheat was about to ripen, everything stopped, and the mature wheat seedlings were instantly crushed to dust by a formidable force.
“The 76th failure, the nutrients were insufficient, and after maturing, the plant’s heads of grain were too few, as worthless as weeds,”
a youngster appeared on this barren land, looking down and mumbling to himself. The task wasn’t as simple as he had imagined. From nothing to creation, forming from the Void, he knew it was difficult, but he hadn’t anticipated that accelerating the growth of crops would also be challenging.
“But it’s okay, a few more attempts and it will succeed. Then, playing the role of a harvest god in other worlds will be a trivial matter.”
