King of Titans and Dragons -
Chapter 1095 - 1095 1082 Courting Destruction
Chapter 1095: Chapter 1082: Courting Destruction Chapter 1095: Chapter 1082: Courting Destruction “I will consider the alliance you speak of,” Muria said as he waved a hand, motioning for a servant to come forward and escort the hesitating leader of the Stream Mountain Country Delegation away. After the delegation from the distant Stream Mountain Country had been led away, the young man sitting on the throne revealed a smile.
Through interactions with these people from the Stream Mountain Country, although their words were full of evasions, Muria had roughly guessed the reason for their presence here.
The reason wasn’t complex at all: their so-called Stream Mountain Country was at war with another country. Unfortunately, although the two countries were originally of comparable strength, an exceptionally monstrous king had emerged in their rival country.
After this king ascended the throne, their opponent forced them to the ground and crushed them, rendering them unable to take care of themselves. Their nation was on the verge of being annihilated by this old foe.
Most likely in order to preserve their nation, they thought of strategically relocating, or in other words, fleeing. But even fleeing required a final destination.
Thus, the people of the Stream Mountain Country set their sights on the Ymir Plain, as in their view, this Wild Land was just a place of utter chaos, and most importantly, it lacked any formidable power.
For these people who could hardly protect their own country, such a place was undoubtedly the best choice for a fresh start.
But when the delegation from the Stream Mountain Country, or rather their reconnaissance team, arrived at this supposedly chaotic Wild Land, they were disappointed to discover that it had already been unified.
More importantly, the power that had unified the very place they picked for their new beginning was incredibly strong. Thus, the reconnaissance team under the guise of a delegation from the Stream Mountain Country quickly changed their objective and mission.
They abandoned their initial task of reconnaissance and instead took on the role they were meant to cover—the delegation of the Stream Mountain Country—and began to seek an alliance with the Gai Nation to counter their old adversary.
All this was Muria’s conjecture, but he estimated it was nearly accurate, as this delegation had previously known nothing about the existence of the Gai Nation.
In such a situation, what else could a delegation masquerading as one thing but here for another be doing at the Ymir Plain? It was obvious, definitely not for an alliance.
“Seeking an alliance with me was truly a mistake,” Muria muttered, stroking his chin as his smile brightened.
“The Crimson King!” Muria mused, “This title, along with this course of action, must indeed be Michaela, tsk, quite interesting indeed. My wife’s enemy has come to seek my help, huh.”
“Arnold, what has happened? I heard an envoy corps from some nation has arrived here; where are they?” At this moment, Ferdinand’s figure, enveloped in the Deathly Black Mist, appeared.
Over the years, Ferdinand, the former king of the Gai Nation and father of Muria’s reincarnated body, had been like a shadow to Muria, handling all sorts of unspeakable matters. The current strength of the Gai Nation also owed a part to his invaluable contributions.
“I’ve sent them to rest.”
“Oh, so what were these people here for?” Ferdinand asked, his face showing curiosity.
“They were here to discuss an alliance with me,” Muria said with a playful smile as he explained the matter of the Crimson King to Ferdinand.
“The Crimson King? So what are your thoughts?” Ferdinand asked curiously, noticing the subtle smile on his son’s face.
“An alliance is certainly necessary, but exactly how to align needs thorough discussion.”
“No, what are you laughing about? Can you tell me?” Ferdinand could hardly contain himself.
“I am delighted!”
“Delighted about what?” Ferdinand was still puzzled, “Is it because it’s confirmed that other nations exist outside ours?”
This former king also knew the mentality of the current Gai Nation—it had become a war monster that chose its prey. The reason it had paused was merely because this monster was temporarily sated.
But what was truly terrifying was that each time this monster finished eating and digesting, it grew larger, and its appetite for the next meal increased as well.
“There’s nothing particularly delightful about that; it was already known that there was more land out there, and now it’s just been fully confirmed,” Muria waved it off. “I am happy because I feel that the person I’ve been waiting for has finally appeared.”
“Hmm?” Ferdinand paused for a moment after hearing Muria’s words, then quickly caught on, his interest piqued, “Who might that be?”
“Didn’t I just tell you?”
“??” Ferdinand froze again, “When did you tell me?”
“Just now.”
“The Crimson King!” Ferdinand ventured tentatively.
“Hmm.” Muria nodded slowly.
“Is she a female?”
“According to the description by the Stream Mountain Country Delegation, she is indeed a female.”
“But this…” Ferdinand’s expression was very twisted, as this was the most nonsensical thing he had encountered in his long life.
“You haven’t even seen her face, and just by hearing a title, you’re certain she is the one you’ve been waiting for?”
“Yes, that is my feeling.”
“…” Ferdinand fell silent for a long while before he spoke slowly, “So, you plan to agree to an alliance with Stream Mountain Country only to betray them later?”
“Hmm, that’s the plan.”
“I, you, this…” Upon hearing Muria admit so candidly, Ferdinand didn’t know what to say. To betray a country to please a woman he had never met was something not even the most incompetent fool of a king would do.
“So, your plan is to unite with the Crimson King and destroy Stream Mountain Country, right? But even if you plan to do so, you should at least make contact with this Crimson King first, right? You can’t just go ahead without having met him. National affairs are not child’s play.”
“Hmm, you’re right. Indeed, contact has to be established,” Muria agreed with Ferdinand’s idea.
…
Meanwhile, even as Muria and Ferdinand were discussing how to contact the Crimson King, the Stream Mountain Country Delegation, oblivious that they had approached the very enemy they were against, continued their deliberations.
“I never thought that this Wild Land had already been conquered by someone.”
“Yes, this also means that we in Stream Mountain Country need to find a new retreat. Otherwise, we’ll have to confront Gai Nation.”
“Gai Nation can only be an ally; we absolutely must not clash with them. Otherwise, our Stream Mountain Country really will be finished. One Crimson King is already enough; I don’t want to provoke this king of Gai Nation.”
At that moment, the Delegation leader spoke, his observations since entering Gai Nation having convinced him that it was a nation not to be provoked. This was a country that had emerged from war and grown increasingly powerful.
“Now, the issue is how we can ally with Gai Nation? This country has only just finished a war; they probably don’t have the capacity to launch another so soon.”
“That’s not the problem; the problem is how to persuade them to join us against the Crimson King.”
“Delegation leader, they have not seen the strength and evil of the Crimson King. If they had, they definitely couldn’t ignore it.”
“That’s exactly the problem,” the Delegation leader glanced at his aides and the advisors who had accompanied him, “We are using an existence that they have never even seen to scare them into allying with us, a powerful warring nation. Think about it yourselves; what are the chances this alliance will succeed?”
“So, we need to find a way to show their king just how powerful the Crimson King is. They must understand that if the Crimson King destroys our Stream Mountain Country, Gai Nation will be next if they do not join us in opposition.”
“So the idea is to convince Gai Nation’s king to send an envoy with us back to Gai Nation and let them witness the Crimson King’s military forces?”
“That’s the only way.”
“Let the king think it over for a while; we’ll visit him again tomorrow.”
…
“You want me to send an envoy with you to your country?” Muria said expressionlessly, staring down at the Delegation leader, his heart almost bursting with amusement. He truly hadn’t expected these people to be so self-aware.
“Yes, My King. After discussion, we thought it necessary for you to understand the strength of the Crimson King so that you don’t mistakenly think we are trying to intimidate you.”
“Strong? Ha ha.” Muria laughed disdainfully, “No one can be called strong in my presence, not even the so-called Crimson King.”
Upon hearing Muria’s words, the members of the delegation from Stream Mountain Country exchanged glances, their faces revealing an expected response.
They had already gathered much public information about this king and understood his great power, capable of destroying countries single-handedly. In their assessment, this king was undoubtedly incredibly arrogant.
“However, I agree to your request. I will dispatch a team to accompany you to Stream Mountain Country to see just how powerful this Crimson King really is.”
“King, your wisdom is unparalleled.”
