Chapter 1072 - 1072 1059 The Incomplete Power of Epics
Chapter 1072: Chapter 1059: The Incomplete Power of Epics Chapter 1072: Chapter 1059: The Incomplete Power of Epics Muria stood on the main street, and the commoners passing by all went out of their way to avoid him; Muria knew they were fearing him because, without even looking, he knew what he had become.
Black Qi wreathed around him, flames enveloping his body, making him look like a demon child who could cause immense destruction at any moment, but in fact, Muria was very calm.
His current posture was not the result of his subjective will but caused by external factors.
And the power boiling within him, leading to uncontrollable changes in his form, was something Muria had faced many times before, so he was quite familiar with this feeling.
Before today, the only thing that could make his power so lively and enter an excited state was the Royal Blood Crystal. But now, Muria had discovered another.
The Black Mist that seemed to cover the entire city and threatened to swallow it whole was the source of his power’s excitement and boiling. As Muria looked at the oppressive Black Mist, it was as though he was seeing a massive Royal Blood Crystal.
The power within him vibrated as if telling Muria that if he could swallow the entity allowing the Black Mist to form, his power would greatly climb, be further supplemented, and undergo a qualitative change.
“I had felt that something was wrong with the power inside me, and now I probably understand why I had that feeling.”
Muria clenched his fist; besides feeling his power boiling upon seeing the Black Mist, he also felt an emptiness, as if something was missing.
Without any basis or need for others to tell him, Muria could feel that being able to swallow the Black Mist would not only supplement his power, but his life form would also become more complete.
“But I can’t swallow it!” Despite the extreme boiling of his inner power, Muria remained calm. Just by using his eyes, he knew that the being capable of creating such a vast Black Mist was far beyond him in strength; it wasn’t something he could handle.
At that moment, the Black Mist was drawing near, trying to engulf the city. Nevertheless, the army guarding the city would not let this mysterious Black Mist wreak havoc without opposition. They launched an attack on the Black Mist, which had no effect whatsoever and seemed to further provoke it.
The Black Mist engulfed the entire city at a terrifying speed. Then, as if born from nothing, undead with eyes flashing with crimson light appeared. These undead, congealed from the Black Mist, threw themselves toward the nearest living creatures.
The undead attacked humans, with the weakest being those who had completed their Initial Awakening; there was no need to attack ordinary commoners.
Because as soon as they were covered by the Black Mist, ordinary humans struggled in extreme agony, like fish out of water. In a very short time, their lifeforce was drained by the Black Qi, and they turned into withered husks, ultimately becoming the lowest form of Corpse Servants.
While all the residents of the city were being slaughtered by the Black Mist, Muria found himself in the biggest crisis of his life.
The moment the Black Mist enveloped him, he also felt a strong pull, trying to devour his lifeforce. However, the power innate within him immediately covered his body and isolated this devouring force.
But as soon as the power inside him emerged, it immediately agitated the Black Mist that now enveloped the entire city. As the Black Mist appeared, the undead attempting to attack Muria, upon being enveloped by black and red flames, slowly retreated, surrounding him, waiting for the presence that ruled them to arrive.
“Gah gah gah, look what I’ve found! Who would have thought I’d be so lucky? In such a remote place, I actually discovered a Yanmo Descendant.”
The voice of utter delight echoed around Muria; soon after, an intensely chilling Death Qi descended, with frost spreading over the ground at a visible rate.
After Muria’s power boiled over, the sparks spraying from his mouth and nose, once leaving a certain range from his body, were extinguished by the cold Qi encircling him.
Then, Death Qi imbued with a deep cold from all directions converged and manipulated the Black Mist; the entity capable of massacring an entire city appeared.
It was a swirl of dense, undispersed Black Qi, faintly forming a vague, ferocious, and massive humanoid shape. At its head, two eyes like a Blood Pool stared coldly and greedily at Muria as if surveying a feast.
“Let me see, a Yanmo Descendant with a Third Awakening, or maybe even a Fourth Awakening, not bad, really not bad. Although your power is very weak, it is enough for me to undergo a fundamental metamorphosis. Hahaha, after devouring you and all the living creatures in this backwater, I will have enough strength for revenge,”
“So you’re like a stray dog that’s been kicked out of its kennel, only able to find joy in a place as remote as this?” Muria looked at the sinister presence before him and asked calmly.
“How dare you!” The ghoul, whose self-esteem had become extremely sensitive and fragile due to its defeat and expulsion, roared in anger, feeling greatly insulted by what it perceived as mockery caused by its own slip of the tongue.
“Yanmo, I hope after I’ve devoured you, you can still be as tough,” said the ghost formed from a dense, undispersed black mist, stretching out its claws towards Muria, impatient to devour him.
Seeing the ghoul’s claw reaching for him, Muria did not dodge or evade, nor did he release his awakened form. He stood there quietly, as if he had given up resistance. But just as the claw was about to touch him, a furious shout filled with anger came from behind Muria, accompanied by a strong wind that seemed to press people to the ground.
“Who is this mangy cur? How dare you disturb my pleasure, and even dare to aim for my student?”
A silver-gray meteor struck the ghost’s claw reaching for Muria. The powerful force was unstoppable, spreading along the ghoul’s arm and shattering its body along with it into a shapeless mass of death qi.
After pulverizing the ghost’s form with a single punch, dull footsteps came from behind Muria, approaching was a silver-gray giant, nearly twenty meters tall, with a brooding face and wings slung across its back. His body pulsed with light, like a volcano primed to erupt.
The belle who turned into a skeleton in an instant would feel extremely frustrated by such an experience, and a being like the giant would, of course, seek out the culprit for the destruction.
“Impressive power, are you the guardian of this Yanmo Descendant? I’ll give you a chance, get lost now, and I’ll spare your life,” said the ghoul, whose form had been dispersed by the giant with one punch before it quickly reassembled itself from the surrounding black mist and restored itself to its original state, looking unharmed.
“A dog-like creature, who gave you the guts to talk to me like that?” The giant, who was interrupted while he was enjoying himself, was incredibly angry. As he heard the ghost’s words, his rage intensified. He stepped forward with heavy strides, ignoring Muria to the side, and walked towards the ghoul.
“Dog? You’re seeking your own death!” The ghoul, very sensitive at heart, also flew into a rage upon hearing the giant’s words. As it pointed at the giant, one corpse servant after another that had been corrupted by the ghoul appeared at its side, then swarmed towards the giant.
“The one seeking death is you.” Silver-gray light surged over the giant’s robust body as he looked at the corpse servants charging at him. He lifted his right foot and stamped down hard. A visibly silver-gray wave of energy rippled out, and all the corpse servants touched by this wave instantly reduced to ashes.
Not far from the giant, Muria quickly retreated the instant the ripple spread, avoiding the indiscriminate attack.
“Kid, step aside for a bit. Wait a moment, and I’ll settle with this fellow shortly,” the giant finally realized he had a teammate beside him.
“If possible, try to kill him,” Muria said to the giant before promptly moving away from the area soon to become a battlefield. Of course, it was just a casual remark and he didn’t hold much hope for the giant.
Just by looking at the nature of their powers, it was clear that the giant had no chance of capturing the ghoul with its strange form and intangible body.
“I got it,” the giant replied dryly to Muria’s request, pulling at the corner of his mouth and speaking in a dull tone. Although he had talked tough earlier, he knew that the best he could do was to repel this eerie being, let alone capture or kill it.
“Kill me?” The ghoul laughed, its blood-red eyes fixed on Muria as it pointed and said, “Seize this Yanmo Descendant. Whoever catches him for me, I will promote them to be my enforcer commander.”
The ghoul’s order instantly reached the ears of the corpse servants rampaging under the black mist’s cover through its unique method. Thus, the somewhat intelligent corpse servants rushed madly to where Muria was.
“Hope you don’t screw me over,” Muria said indifferently to the ceaseless stream of corpse servants attacking him. His eyes were fixed on the giant fighting the ghoul, watching the battle unfold.
“Roar!” While Muria was freely slaughtering the lower-order corpse servants, a formidable one finally found him. Excitedly roaring at the sight of Muria, it stared with blood-red eyes, dragging its war knife as it charged at him.
