Killed Me? Now I Have Your Power

Chapter 90 – So cute!

Kaden was sitting cross-legged in the groundless space of the dungeon.

On his lap, little Rory slept peacefully, a happy smile on her face, clearly thrilled to have reunited with her master.

Well, that’s what she thought, and Kaden had decided to keep it that way.

He couldn’t continue to act like that bastard, so he had to slowly and carefully shift his behavior without making it suspicious.

And if it ever got too weird? He’d just blame it on the side effects of taking over the body.

Easy.

’But well... I don’t mind if she finds out and kills me, huh. I don’t mind having some illusion skills,’ Kaden added in his mind with a crooked smile.

He stayed in that position without moving, unwilling to disturb little Rory, and as he lowered his head to look at her, he found her undeniably cute.

"Her cuteness is almost at the level of my sister’s. Incredible. Never thought that was possible," Kaden muttered as he slowly pinched little Rory’s cheeks.

"Ah... master... stop..!" she murmured in her sleep, clearly dreaming.

Kaden smiled, but didn’t stop.

He’d always wanted to pinch Daela’s cheeks but had never dared. Now that he had the chance to do it to someone just as cute?

He simply couldn’t resist.

So he kept at it, even stretching her cheeks a little, until little Rory finally stirred awake and looked up at him with a wronged expression.

"Master!! Stop pinching Rory’s cheeks!" she cried, pouting adorably with her arms crossed over her flat chest.

She thought she looked imposing.

But Kaden just found her even more adorable, and without thinking, he reached out and pinched her cheeks again.

Little Rory immediately backed away, placing both hands protectively on her cheeks like she was guarding a sacred treasure, her eyes sending a clear message: You’re not touching them again.

Seeing that, Kaden burst out laughing.

"Hahaha! You’re too cute, little Rory," he said, his expression filled with genuine joy.

Seeing such a beautiful, honest laugh from her master stunned little Rory for a moment, then she laughed too.

She laughed because he laughed.

She was happy because he was happy.

And knowing her master liked to pinch her cheeks,

"You... you can pinch Rory’s cheeks!" she said sweetly, then immediately raised a slender finger.

"But only once a day!" she added, then paused and tilted her head.

"No! Twice!" she corrected herself, holding up two fingers proudly.

Kaden laughed again.

"Okay, little Rory. Two times. Deal," he said, extending his hand for a handshake.

Rory blinked, confused. Handshakes weren’t a thing in Fokay or Darklore.

So Kaden had to teach her what it meant, how to do it, and finally, they shook hands—both smiling.

The first handshake in the history of both worlds.

But after the cuteness, it was time to focus on what mattered.

"Can you leave this dungeon? And if you do, what happens to it?" Kaden asked, faking a bit of memory loss to sell the ’body takeover’ excuse.

Rory frowned, feeling sorry for him.

She answered quickly, "I can leave, master! And since this dungeon is yours, no one can enter it without your permission."

Kaden nodded, satisfied.

He looked around. Nothing in this place was of value anymore.

He shook his head and turned toward the truly important thing,

The Evolution Quest.

"Little Rory, time to go. You ready?" he asked.

She nodded enthusiastically, like a chicken, making Kaden chuckle.

Then she transformed into a simple crow, leaping onto Kaden’s shoulder and perching there.

The moment she did, her body turned black and her eyes crimson, mirroring Kaden’s own perfectly.

Kaden looked at her with interest. He could see her true form, but he doubted many others would be able to.

"But... why a crow?" he asked.

"It suits your new body better, master!" she replied cheerfully.

Kaden just shrugged.

Didn’t really matter.

But then, suddenly

A deep red katana appeared in front of him, its tip pointed directly at little Rory.

Reditha.

She was clearly fed up with Rory’s closeness to Kaden. Her edge pointed like a warning: Back off.

But instead of being afraid...

Rory jumped in excitement.

"Master! You got a sentient weapon-type Origin?! That’s incredible! I thought only that ridiculous man could get one!" she said, circling Reditha in awe, flapping her wings as she studied her.

Reditha, completely caught off guard, became flustered and quickly hid behind Kaden.

Kaden laughed.

"I didn’t know you were the shy type, Reditha."

"But please, get along with her, okay? She can be your first ever friend besides me! Aren’t you excited, Reditha? You can do girl talk with her..."

"...once you can speak."

At his teasing, Reditha slowly opened up, and Rory, thrilled, became even more excited.

After a few minutes of heartwarming chaos, a jealous sword and an overly excited beast-girl bonding, Kaden finally left the dungeon and teleported back to Asterion, landing in his inn room immediately.

Once there, he sat cross-legged on the ground, focused.

’Death coins: 2000.’

’Stat points, Death?’

[35]

He nodded, not surprised.

’Still not enough to push the other stats past the limit. And I can’t waste time grinding more points.’

So...

’Let’s just do it. I’ve got enough Death Coins for a couple of rebirths if things go south,’ he decided.

But at that exact moment—

[You have completed the quest: Inheritance.]

[You did it perfectly. You plundered everything you could.]

[Rewards: 4000 Death Coins | 700 Stat Points]

Kaden smirked.

’Just enough to push my other four stats above the limit,’ he thought.

What a coincidence...right?

But then came the dilemma,

Should he wait to use those points in case he died during the Evolution Quest... or spend them now?

That wasn’t even a question.

His Will was already above the limit, no point waiting.

So he warned Rory and Reditha to simply observe.

Then,

’Death, put 150 into each of the remaining stats.’

Death didn’t delay.

Pain ripped through his entire body. A deep, monstrous kind of agony that felt almost inhuman.

But Kaden just clenched his teeth and endured.

No screaming. No rolling on the floor.

Just groans.

That was the strength of his Will.

The pain lasted a full hour before it finally faded, leaving him breathless, drenched in sweat, black impure blood while lying on the ground.

’Fucking hell...’ he cursed inwardly.

Then the panel appeared,

[You have obtained four Extreme Skills.]

[Skills: Titanborn Wrath, PhantomStride, BodyStrong, Core of Aether]

As the abilities poured into his mind, Kaden felt his confidence rising. He was ready.

After a much-needed bath, he glanced at little Rory still in her crow form, sitting on the bed, watching him.

"I’m going to take the Evolution Quest, little Rory," he said, smirking.

"Wish us luck."

"Good luck, master! Good luck, Reditha! You can do it!!" she chirped, flapping her wings like crazy.

Kaden smiled then focused.

He pulled out the Evolution Quest stone.

DROP—!

His blood fell on the stone.

DING!
