Chapter 92: The Client’s Real Identity

When Daren went to the backyard, someone hit his head so hard that the man fell unconscious. From the darkness, Axel appeared after he hit the Omega with his own hand.

He looked at Daren who was lying on the grass and then lifted his body. Axel couldn’t do any of this, but he had to. The day he had been waiting for had finally come.

However, this was not what Axel wanted right now.

"I’m sorry... I’m really sorry, my Omega," he whispered.

"I had to do it, but I hope you’ll understand why I did it." He kissed Daren’s forehead then led him away.

Two hours later, Daren began to wake up from his faint. His head was still very sore from the painful blow to the head.

When he opened his eyes, he found himself in an abandoned place that was quite dark and there was only one light nearby. Her body was tied to a chair, making her unable to move.

"Uhhh... Where am I? My head hurts like hell. I should be in the backyard. Then why am I here?" he said in confusion.

He also remembered that he intended to meet up with Axel, but someone hit him and he ended up there. But the man didn’t know who had hit him and what had brought him there.

"Are they those guys again? They kidnapped me again because they want Axel?"

Daren tried to release his body by moving it so that the ropes binding him would loosen. However, the more he moved, the more his hands were cut by the rope.

"No matter how hard you try, it will all be in vain," a man said from the dark side of the place.

The blond-haired Omega turned his head, looking at the origin of the voice as the man approached and as he had expected, it was Axel. He recognized that voice very well, the voice of his own lover.

He smiled happily as Axel came to his rescue.

"Axel, let me go quickly! They’re not here, so we can leave as soon as possible before they come back!" he said hopefully to be let go.

However, Axel didn’t do anything, let alone come closer to him. He just stood silently in front of her with a few steps between them.

"Why are you standing still? Let go of me, Axel. We have to leave soon, right?"

"Let you go, why? I tied you up there on purpose, why would I let you go?" asked the man as he folded his arms in front of his chest.

"What?" asked Daren with a confused look.

Axel tied him up there? But for what?

"What do you mean? Are you that angry with me? Axel, why are you being like this with me?"

"Didn’t I tell you it was because I didn’t care about you? All the things I did to you weren’t real. Even being your bodyguard is not what I want," he replied.

"What do you really mean?"

The alpha finally explained his true intention of being Daren’s bodyguard was to watch over him. Protect him from all sorts of dangerous things for today. The day someone wanted him dead in front of his eyes.

Hearing that, of course Daren felt Axel must be lying to him again. However, when he looked into his eyes, Daren could tell that it wasn’t a lie anymore but Axel was telling the truth.

"You... Just sent to watch over me and are going to kill me? But what we went through together... Everything was real, right? Please tell me that you really love me. Maybe you came to kill me today... But please tell me that all those feelings are real and not part of your game..." pleaded Daren with a pleading face.

He felt his chest tighten as he knew it. She was going to die soon? Everything he had been through with Axel had been a lie.

He waited for an answer from Axel, but the man did not answer his question.

"ANSWER ME, AXEL!" he shouted in annoyance and disappointment.

"NO ONE IS NAMED AXEL HERE!" the man retorted. "No one has ever been named that, and I hate it every time you call me that."

Daren’s body trembled when he heard that, he couldn’t believe what he was seeing right now. However, it was just the beginning of his nightmare.

"You seem to be doing very well indeed." There was another male voice from the dark side, right in front of Daren.

Again the voice of someone he recognized so well, he even shook his head in disbelief when he heard the man’s voice.

"No... No no no... Tell me this is all just a bad dream-" he said fearfully as he saw the man walking towards him and his face visible in the lamplight.

"Unfortunately, this is not a nightmare, Daren. This is the reality you’ve had to accept all along," he said with a smirk and then grabbed Daren’s jaw hard.

His blue eyes widened as he stared at the Beta man in front of him. The man who had been his best friend and kept him company at all times, someone who had always been there for him and someone Daren had come to trust.

Ivan Howard.

"Ivan... Don’t tell me that you’re the one..." he said in disbelief even though the man was in front of his face.

He felt like his eyes were lying to him right now. He could not accept this painful reality.

First Axel, who turned out to be someone who had been sent to kill him.

Then Ivan, who was the one who sent the Alpha to him.

"Yes, I did it Daren. I sent Axel to kill you and you didn’t expect that, did you?" he asked.

"Why Ivan? Why did you do all this to me? What have I done wrong to you? Why did you..."

THUD!

He hit Daren hard on the head, leaving the man in excruciating pain. His head was bowed because it was so limp.

"Why did I do this? Oh Daren... You really didn’t do anything. Even I know you don’t know this, it’s just..."

Firmly, Ivan grabbed his friend’s hair and lifted his head so that his bruised face could be seen clearly. It was faintly audible that the Omega was whimpering in pain from the strong blows and pulls on his hair.

But Ivan didn’t care, his smiling face turning into a cold face with a vengeful gaze.

"Your family is the murderer of my family!"
