Chapter 90: What’s Wrong With You?

An Omega’s eyes opened after he woke up from his sleep in the middle of the night. He had spent all day in his room, and now he could not sleep anymore.

He looked towards the chair where his bodyguard always sat with him, but now there was no man there. He was completely alone even though he hoped what his bodyguard said yesterday was a dream.

Hoping that when he woke up everything would be back to normal, and Axel had never said anything like that to him.

"It wasn’t a dream after all," he muttered.

Daren got out of bed and thought about getting some fresh air outside. He went to the elevator and then down to the ground floor and walked towards the back door of his family mansion.

Just as he opened the door, he heard the same sounds of two people fighting. Curious, Daren went straight out of the mansion and searched for the origin of the sound following the pheromones that were so strong in the surroundings.

He could recognize the pheromones as those of Axel and his butler, Mike.

"Wait, don’t tell me that they..."

The blond man ran over to the two Alphas who were apparently fighting each other. Of course it was very surprising to him especially since he had never seen Mike fight before, to release such sharp pheromones like that.

"What are you two doing! Why are you fighting like this!" Daren snapped at the two of them.

Seeing Daren emerge, Axel let go of Mike’s collar that he had been holding on to and almost punched him in the face again. The two Alphas turned to him and pulled away from each other.

Daren could see that their faces were bruised from the fight.

"Young Master? What are you doing here? You should have stayed in your room," Mike said, pulling his pheromones and trying to be friendly as usual.

Meanwhile, Axel folded his arms in front of his chest and turned his face away in annoyance.

The Omega approached Mike and looked at the bruises on his face. Not only bruises but there were other wounds and even his lips were bleeding.

"Why did you do this? You’ve never been in a fight before, why would you fight someone like him?" asked Daren worriedly examining the face of the Alpha who was already considered his own younger brother.

He reached for his face and lightly touched the wound there. Seeing that scene, of course Axel felt jealous because he would rather check on Mike than him, but he remembered that Daren should no longer care about him.

The man tried not to show his feelings and chose to leave the backyard. But Dalam stopped him by speaking to him.

"What’s wrong with you? Why are you doing it like this? Did I make a mistake for you to stay away from me and even fight with Mike?"

"Young Master, I picked a fight with him first because I didn’t want to see you sad because of him. I just wanted him to apologize for what he said to you this morning," the man explained.

"Still! I don’t understand what you’re really thinking right now, and why you said such things to me this morning. But I know you didn’t mean what you said! I..."

Axel turned to look at Daren who was looking at him with hope, but he had to crush that hope.

"I never play with my words, except when I say that I love you. That’s word is a game to get back at a annoying Omega like you. So stop hallucinating that I actually do like Omegas like you," he said in a very cold tone and then turned to leave Mike and Daren.

His eyes dropped because he knew that Axel was lying to him again. Even though they hadn’t bonded, Daren could sense the lie from his Alpha. And he was sure he had something to hide.

On that day, Daren tried to spend time by keeping himself busy so as not to think too much about Axel who suddenly changed. He felt that maybe Axel needed time to think about it.

"Freya, catch!" Daren threw the ball to one of the maids who worked for him.

"I got it! I got it!" said Freya trying to catch the basketball that was thrown to her.

They were playing basketball on the court behind the mansion. Axel who was there noticed how Daren was laughing and enjoying the game.

Such an innocent and cheerful face would turn into death in a few hours. Time kept going backwards without Daren knowing that his death was coming soon.

The more he thought about it, the more painful it was for him that he himself had to kill him.

’Damn damn damn! Stop mixing your feelings on this job, Victor! Do this last task, at least he’s laughing in his last hour,’ Axel thought at the time.

"Not so fast Young Master! We can’t keep up with your speed!" said one of the maids playing basketball.

"Then speed up your moves! You’ll have to exercise with me too!" he said with a laugh and put the ball in the hoop.

"Of course we can’t! You’re so amazing Young Master!"

The Omega man chuckled and thanked them.

He then invited them to continue the game with the maids. He forbade Mike to come along because he wanted to go up to rest considering his injured face.

He stopped for a moment and then turned to Axel who was watching him from a distance. He remembered when he challenged the Alpha to a basketball duel, and Axel won.

’It felt good back then, having an opponent who was worth even more than me. Sometimes I feel like Mike still gives in against me but not Axel,’ he thought at the time.

While he was still watching the man, suddenly another man came up to Axel and stood next to him. Daren squinted his eyes trying to see who the man was which turned out to be Ivan.

"Why is Ivan standing near Axel? Why doesn’t he come straight to me like he usually does?"

He could see that the two men were chatting with each other while looking at him. Daren knew it wasn’t just his feelings and he was sure that they were both looking at him.

It wasn’t long before Ivan walked onto the field and waved at Daren.

"Daren!" he called happily as he ran towards him.

He pretended not to know anything and returned Ivan’s smile.

"Hi Ivan, are you still going to work today?"

The beta smiled and replied that he was off today. That’s why he came to see himself and spend time with him.

"Let’s have tea while eating the mochi I brought, you’ll like it."
