Chapter 78: The Innocent Omega

In the end Axel and Daren spent four days traveling around North Zondalia, and on the fourth day they decided to relax on the beach while enjoying the cool water.

"Tomorrow morning we have to go home, huft that sucks. But what can I do, I have to continue filming something else too," Daren said.

"Yes, don’t be too lazy. If you want to be a professional, you have to be able to pursue your targets and even exceed them," Axel advised Daren.

"You’re still a rookie bodyguard yourself, right?"

"Well..." Axel averted his eyes, remembering that being a bodyguard wasn’t his main job.

He’d been working as an agent for almost ten years, making him a recognized professional with more missions than any other agent.

"See? I don’t know if I can be a professional or not anyway. As long as I’m still stuck in the Wyne Family, I guess it’ll be hard."

Axel nodded in understanding, even though he had suggested getting out of the mansion but as Daren said, he was worried about his mother.

The two of them walked around the beach while enjoying the cool sea breeze. The beach was so quiet and there were only a few visitors as only the tenants of the resort house could enter the beach.

However, for some reason Axel felt that someone was watching them from earlier. Every time they stopped for a moment, he felt someone staring at them from the tail of his eyes.

’Who are they? What do they really want?’ Axel thought.

He turned to Daren who was still busy talking about many things while looking at the sea. He didn’t want to ruin this moment, especially since they had to return to the mansion tomorrow.

"And I think..."

"Hey, I feel thirsty. Let’s go buy a drink nearby and sit there and relax. We’ll come back here when the sun goes down," Axel interrupted his boyfriend.

"Oh good idea, my throat does feel dry," Daren replied.

"That’s because you’re babbling too much. Come on!" He pulled Daren’s hand towards a drink vendor on the beach.

Axel did it so he could get a good look at who had been following them.

’I’m sure those people will come too and wait for me and this Omega. That will make it easier for me to know who they are,’ he planned at that time.

The two of them then sat down at one of the taverns and ordered the drinks they wanted. Axel noticed how Daren looked as happy and energetic as ever.

’So innocent as if he has no sins whatsoever. Did he know about the dark side of his own family until someone targeted him?’ Axel thought, quite curious about that.

He had heard about it from his target, but he wasn’t sure if Daren knew about it.

"Hey ugly," he called out.

"Hmn?" Daren turned around as he was enjoying his coconut drink. "What is it?"

"There’s something I want to ask you. Do you know of any big problems your family has had with other people?" Axel asked him.

Daren frowned, thinking about the answer to Axel’s question. He couldn’t remember his family ever having problems with anyone else so far, all he knew was the problems he had caused. Like the death of Aldrich and others.

"You really don’t know anything? Maybe something when you were a kid?"

He shook his head, not knowing anything about it.

As Axel suspected, Daren did not know anything about the problems his family had but he had to be the victim of the anger of his client who wanted him dead.

"I see," he said and took a sip of his drink.

"Speaking of me as a child, I remember meeting a boy who I think was the same age as me when I was seven years old," Daren said, recalling the memory.

"He was the son of my father’s friend, they came to the mansion but my father wasn’t there. Then his son played with me for a while and then he had to leave because he had to go to school," he continued his story.

"Did you ever see him again or do you remember the name of your father’s friend?"

Daren tried to recall. "I think... Hendrick? He came a few times but that day he brought his son. I think that was the last time I saw him."

The Alpha nodded in understanding, knowing something his client had never told him before. Daren also couldn’t remember what the boy looked like and what his name was.

"What’s wrong with you suddenly asking something like that?" asked Daren.

"Nothing, I’m just curious about it. Is it wrong?"

"Not really. Do you have any childhood friends?" he asked.

"I..." Axel’s words trailed off as he looked at the two men sitting next to Daren at the moment.

The two men were wearing white shirts and long black pants. Something not usually worn at the beach.

’Are they the ones who’ve been following us? How dare they choose to sit nearby.’

"What’s wrong? Why don’t you continue what you’re saying?"

"Hmn? It’s nothing. I’m feeling a bit hungry, would you like to buy something?" Axel stood up from his chair and paid for their drinks.

Daren nodded and finished his drink before following his bodyguard away. Out of the corner of Axel’s eye, he could see the two men who had just arrived watching them, making him sure that those two were the ones who had been following them all along.

Now they entered an eatery that was quite far from where they had been drinking earlier.

"You wait here, I’ll order the food," the Alpha told Daren to wait at one of the tables.

"Alright, don’t take too long. I’m already pretty hungry," Daren replied and sat down while playing with his cell phone.

He sat alone waiting for Axel to return to bring him the food they ordered. He looked around, everyone else had also come in pairs with their lovers.

"It’s not wrong that I chose this place for a vacation, it turns out to be a good place," he murmured.

At the same time, it turned out that two people came to the restaurant and sat at a table not far from where Daren was.

Their eyes continued to watch the Omega, as if they were targeting him for something.

"He is, but where is the agent? Why is he alone?" one of the men asked his partner.

"I don’t know, but this is a good opportunity to turn him into a hostage to get the agent to come with us," he replied.

As they were about to approach Daren, he suddenly stood up from his chair and walked towards the bathroom. The two of them decided not to follow him and waited until he returned.

At the bathroom, Daren opened the door and walked in. Axel was waiting for him there holding his cell phone.

"What did you ask me to come to the bathroom for?" asked Daren as he showed the message on his cell phone.
