Chapter 190: Current News Spread

As usual I lay on my bed sighing. I didn’t feel excited to do anything especially since for some reason Victor hadn’t even answered my messages since yesterday.

Where did he go? Is he okay or is he too busy to answer my messages? He’s not really trying to lose contact with me right?

No, no... He couldn’t have done that. Wilfred has said that Victor is trustworthy and I believe I can trust him.

Because of my pregnancy, some news portals have started talking about it and they are wondering. Who is the father of this child?

Even whenever I try to scroll through my social media, they are still talking about it. They even think that the father is either Ace or Zach. Because those two were rumored to be close to me.

"Luckily, they haven’t responded yet, but I hope they won’t say anything strange to the public. They even came here and tried to claim this child."

Sometimes they do things that are beyond my prediction. That’s why I sometimes think it’s best to stay away from them.

"The rising actor Daren Harry is pregnant with a child! Who is the alpha responsible for that?"

Again, the news highlights tried to lure the public into mentioning who the father of this child was. Of course he’s my boyfriend, I just hid him and didn’t tell the public. But I guess some people don’t remember me saying that I don’t spread the word about who my boyfriend is.

Some TV stations are trying to invite me into talk shows again and talk about this. It just looks like a gossip program that many people love. And I’m sure the reason they invited me is because it’s sure to be a very crowded episode.

"Can’t you leave me alone?! I just want to be at peace with this child," I said as I exhaled harshly and then randomly sharpened my own hair because I was feeling very frustrated.

But I can’t be too stressed or it will affect the baby.

Knock knock

Suddenly there was a knock on the door, followed by mom’s voice asking to come inside. I got up from my bed and opened the door. I held her arm, as she tried to walk slowly and I let her sit on the edge of my bed.

"You don’t look happy. Is something bothering you?" mom asked me.

"Nothing, I just feel a little weak. Maybe it’s the morning sickness I’m feeling," I replied.

I didn’t want to worry her, especially after she saw the news portal that had been reporting about me lately. More precisely the gossip news portal that is getting heated up.

"No, I know what’s on your mind because I’m your mom. You can tell me everything, dear. I’ll be here to listen to everything," She took my hand not so gently and smiled.

A smile that was so beautiful and rarely seen when Dad was alive. Right after I found out that I was born an Omega. Dad took away everything including mom’s smile that kept her confined to her room.

"Is this also related to Mike? It seems like you guys have been fighting lately. I know he goes to see his omega sometimes. But since you haven’t been taking jobs lately, he’s not even home very often. What’s going on?" asked my mom who looked worried because I knew she considered Mike as her son too.

I couldn’t say more but it was clear that Mike was angry with me because of what I said a few days ago. I didn’t mean to make him angry, I just wanted to tell him.

But he seemed unhappy with what i said and chose to leave. I don’t know if he actually went to see Louis or if he went somewhere else and stayed there.

"I just want him to pay more attention to Louis again. Not just focus on taking care of me, to the point of ignoring his own omega. Am I wrong to say that?"

Mom paused for a moment and then shook her head. "You’re not wrong but he’s not wrong either. He’s probably guilty enough of neglecting his omega to take care of another Omega. But Mike acted the way he did because he must still feel a responsibility to you."

"Responsibility to me?"

Mom nodded her head this time. She explained that Mike must still feel like my Butler. Just like Edgar who chose to come along because of his loyalty to mom. He chose to leave dad and return to my mom out of loyalty to his employer.

"And I’m sure that right now he feels very guilty for not being able to help you. After all, he was trying to show his loyalty as a Butler. But you never saw him as a servant but a friend," Mom explained to me.

"For butlers, their masters are far more important than their personal feelings."

I understood what she was trying to say, it was like a gene in him to be loyal to his master. Ever since Mike was a little boy, he had always faithfully followed me and done whatever I told him to do.

I don’t know why I feel guilty for him now.

"What should I do then? He won’t reply to my messages or talk to me. How can I apologize to him?"

"Only you know the answer, don’t ask Edgar to help you because this is your problem with him. I want you to be able to solve this problem by yourself because I know you can do it," Mom said while rubbing my head.

At the same time, suddenly someone knocked on my bedroom door again which made me quite surprised.

"Who’s there?" I asked the person behind the door.

However, no one answered my question at all, even though I tried to ask several times. Only the sound of knocking could be heard as the person wanted me to open the door immediately.

I got up from my bed and opened the door slowly, peeking at whoever was behind the door.

"I asked who you were! Why don’t you answer my question and just stay silent?" I asked again with some annoyance and when the door opened I saw who was there.

It was a tall man with piercing brown eyes staring at me. He was still carrying his backpack and this man was the man I had been waiting for so long to come back.

"You seem to be doing well. It looks like I came just in time and nothing happened to you."

I felt my tears flowing and I smiled at her. Without being able to say anything, I immediately hugged him tightly because I missed him so much.
