Chapter 183: PREGNANT?!

"Can I ask you something, Daren?" Edgar asked the Omega.

He nodded his head, though feeling confused as to what the alpha wanted to ask him. It was unusual for him to engage him in conversation out of the blue like that.

Daren wondered if Edgar was going to ask him about his son and his attitude which had changed a bit lately because he was busy with his omega. Daren himself realized that Mike was usually always there with him, but for now he often went to see Louis.

However, the middle-aged man’s question was beyond Daren’s expectations. He said that he wanted to ask something a little sensitive, and Daren could only agree to that without thinking anything else.

"Did you and Victor do mating before he left?" he asked, which surprised Daren because it was a sensitive and private question for him.

His face reddened when he heard the question. "You can say that, but why are you suddenly asking something like this?" he replied with a little panic but he managed to answer the question.

Edgar seemed to fall back into silence when he heard the Omega’s answer. The man seemed to sense something inside Daren that Daren himself was unaware of.

But he didn’t want to say that right away and waited for the doctor’s examination so that he could be sure if what he felt was true.

"I was just curious. Forgive this old man for being overly curious, but it seems that Victor works so far away that he rarely sees you anymore," he replied.

"Yes, Vic is away on a business trip overseas because his business partner is there. And also he wants to observe the place if it’s suitable for his work there," Daren replied who was a bit confused on how to explain Victor’s work without having to tell his actual job.

Because only he and Mike knew about Victor’s work as a hired agent. He couldn’t possibly tell his mother or Edgar about it even though they often met him.

"I see, I hope Victor can come back and see you soon. I think you’ll need him."

Without even saying it, Daren was expecting Victor to come back soon because he really wanted to see him. Even though he still hadn’t replied to his lover’s message until now.

Not long after, Daren was finally called into the doctor’s office for an examination. He explained how he had been feeling for almost two weeks but had only come to the doctor because he thought he was just tired.

The doctor examined Daren’s condition and also considered the symptoms felt by the Omega.

"So how did it go? Was I too exhausted? These days, I rarely do IV like before," said Daren.

As he was getting busier with his work, he would sometimes take vitamin injections and infusions to keep him refreshed and feel his fatigue disappear.

But the doctor gave him a much more surprising diagnosis.

"You’re not only exhausted, but you’re pregnant, Mr. Daren," the doctor replied which made him not expect that it would happen.

"You’re not serious are you doctor? Is it April Fool’s Day or something?"

Edgar then turned around and assured Daren that what the doctor was saying was true. He started to feel something in Daren’s body, which he felt was the pups of an alpha who was none other than Victor. Considering Daren only did it with that guy.

"So I really..."

Daren’s eyes go blank and he looks very shocked when he hears that he is pregnant with his boyriend’s child. Because he didn’t expect that such a day would actually come.

His mind was in turmoil, as he was at a loss as to how he was going to tell Victor this. What if he refused and he wouldn’t come back to him after the mission in Dormania?

"Mr. Daren? Are you alright?" called the doctor trying to wake him up.

"Yes I’m still here."

The doctor then explained that Daren should try to get a more accurate test and have written proof that he was indeed pregnant. After the examination, they left the doctor’s office and Daren underwent the tests that the doctor said.

And sure enough, the results were as he had expected.

"How do I tell this to mom? How do I tell Vic? What if they don’t like this?" he asked in confusion as he feared how people would react.

However, Edgar who was much older than him and very much a father tried to calm Daren down. He had known the man since birth, hence he knew how to calm him down.

"I will help you to tell Madam Viona about this, but as for your business with your Alpha, you have to tell him yourself. There’s no need to worry, I’m sure Madam Viona won’t be upset and will actually be happy about this news," he said because he knew that Viona knew Victor well even though there were still many things to hide from her.

Daren nodded his head and he and Edgar went home and told this to Viona and Mike.

"So what did you want to tell us? And how did the doctor do? Is it serious?" the Omega woman asked worriedly as she didn’t want anything to happen to her son.

He then gave his mother the letter from the doctor’s examination. Viona and Mike read the letter and they were shocked by Daren’s positive pregnancy result.

"You’re pregnant?!"

"Yes, that’s the result I got. I didn’t realize it from the beginning because I didn’t know that what I was feeling were signs of pregnancy. At first I thought it was because I was exhausted from work and rarely took vitamins," Daren replied with some trepidation as he waited for his mother’s reaction.

"Daren is an adult, and I’m sure he can take responsibility for what he’s done. However, we have to accept the boy and question whether Victor will also be responsible for this," Edgar said, trying to calm Viona down and assure her that he could take responsibility for himself as well.

What he said was true, which made her feel that she should support this.

"Daren," she called out.

"Yes mom?" he replied as he raised his head to look into her face.

She gently took his hand and said that everything would be fine and that she would be there for Daren even if Victor didn’t want to take responsibility for this.

"I will accept your decision if you want to keep the baby. I hope you do, though, because he’s an innocent baby and he has a right to be born and to live."

"Are you sure mom?"

She nodded her head and hugged her beloved son.

"Mom will always be here for you."
