Kill Me Protect Me, Mr. Bodyguard
Chapter 175: Indirectly, He Kill Him

Chapter 175: Indirectly, He Kill Him

Daren came home from the gelato shop with a blank stare and a muddled mind after what he’d heard from Aiden. His mind is torn between believing what the man says, or believing that Aiden is just trying to make a mess of his and Victor’s relationship.

However, what Aiden said did make sense and it could have happened because after Daren looked up the owner of the factory near the harbor on the internet, it turned out to have the same name as what Aiden said.

"That can’t be right? Victor wouldn’t have a mission like that and he didn’t say anything to me before," Daren said, trying to deny what Aiden was telling him.

Flashback

Aiden smiled slyly as he told Daren about the Aldrich-related mission.

"About seven years ago, before I parted ways with Victor. We got a mission to eliminate the owner of a factory near the harbor. And it was Victor who was working in the field to disguise and eventually kill the man," Aiden said, recounting what happened.

Victor deliberately set fire to the place to eliminate all evidence and make the factory owner’s death look like an accident. Meanwhile, Aiden was tasked with setting fire to another place so that no one would come to the harbor and put out the fire there.

Although their plan was a bit of a failure as the ambulance and fire department arrived in the end, their mission was still considered a success as the factory burned to the ground as well as the owner before the fire department managed to put out the fire.

"And as I found out, at the same time you needed an ambulance to take your brother to the hospital. Unfortunately there was no ambulance on standby as they went to the fire in two different places," he went on to explain.

Daren was speechless when he heard that, the fire that Victor and Aiden had set had not claimed any victims except their target but at the same time Aldrich had lost his life because of them due to not getting help.

When the man could have been saved if the fire hadn’t happened, the ambulance couldn’t come to pick up Aldrich.

"You can’t be serious, right? I’m sure you’re just trying to lie to me by saying this! You’re trying to manipulate me into hating Victor too!" Daren said in annoyance and stood up from his seat to leave.

"Then why don’t you try asking him directly? I’m sure he’ll try to avoid it."

He was sure that Victor knew this but he deliberately didn’t tell him. After all, Victor was one of the people who should be held responsible for Aldrich’s death. Indirectly what the man had planned had killed Daren’s older brother.

Flashback End.

He still couldn’t believe what Aiden had said back then. Right now he couldn’t ask Victor about it either because he was busy with his new mission. But what the long-haired Alpha said kept spinning in his head.

He should not have lost Aldrich on the night of the incident if the deliberately set fire had not occurred.

Aldrich should still be alive right now and maybe his father was too. They were still living in the mansion without any problems because all of his father’s hatred for Daren happened after Aldrich’s death.

If Aldrich was still alive, he wouldn’t have gotten so much pressure from his late father and they would still be happy together.

If only he was alive, Daren wouldn’t have trusted and depended on Sam so much because after his death, Daren considered Sam a very caring person after the man.

All these things kept haunting Daren, as if to say that if only the fire hadn’t happened and the ambulance had come to his brother’s rescue, things wouldn’t have ended like this.

"He should still be alive, he should be by my side right now and supporting everything I do. He should be..."

He sighed in frustration and didn’t know what to do. He didn’t know who to talk to about this because he was completely alone. Daren didn’t want to talk about this with his mother because he didn’t want to open her old wounds.

The wind continued to blow with the sky getting darker as it was about to rain, Daren stopped in the middle of the sidewalk looking up at the dark sky. Thinking about what Aldrich was doing right now, and whether he was with their father.

"If that’s true, you should still be alive."

For years Daren had blamed himself for the death of the man who protected him from the alphas. He shouldn’t have left so late to keep Aldrich from coming to take him home.

"But if the fire hadn’t happened, he could have been saved!" He shouted at the top of his lungs in exasperation and soon the rain came down in torrents.

It soaked him but Daren didn’t care and stood looking up at the sky. Wishing that this night had never happened.

Aiden’s words opened his old wounds, when he had a normal life without dwelling on his past mistakes. But now it was hurting him all over again.

His head hurt so much because he kept thinking about it, especially since he hadn’t had breakfast this morning because he didn’t feel energized. Until suddenly his vision became blurry and he fell in that place.

At the same time, Mike was with Louis at his flower shop. He was helping and accompanying the Omega hoping that Aiden would not try to get close to him.

Although he enjoyed his time with his omega, Mike occasionally thought of Daren whenever he saw Louis’ face. He felt like he was dating Daren but from another world.

A feeling of excitement arose in his heart because he felt like he could finally have that Omega. But he forgot that he shouldn’t have equaled those two Omegas just because they had the same blonde hair. Moreover, their natures were really close together.

"It’s finally raining really hard," Louis said as he looked outside his shop after putting in some flower pots that were usually placed in front of the shop.

"Right, it looks like there’s going to be a storm. The sky is darker than usual and the wind is quite strong too. I think we should close the shop instead of continuing to open because I’m sure no one will come in the middle of a storm like this," Mike suggested because he also believed it would be dangerous if the wind blew the flowers inside and damaged them.

Louis finally agreed and the two of them took some of the flowers that were left outside and put them inside the shop. They closed the shop and went into another room in the shop.

There was a room where Louis used to rest and also cook if he was hungry. Mike had come several times and was used to being there. He sat on the carpet while waiting for Louis to make hot tea for them.

"You always come here on the weekends, won’t your friends look for you? I remember you said you worked for him in the past although I don’t know what kind of work you do," Louis asked him.

He shook his head. "He knows that I’m here and I’m sure he’s fine with me going to see you. He’s someone who really supports me in all my decisions so I’m sure he won’t have a problem with it this time," the alpha replied.

Mike deliberately did not say that he was Daren’s manager because he did not want anyone to know about his work. He was worried that Louis would think he was very busy but had to help that Omega in his shop.

He did it out of his own free will and because he felt comfortable around Louis.

They both enjoyed the hot tea and also a piece of cake that was in the refrigerator. When it was so cold outside, they enjoyed the warmth together while chatting with each other.

In the middle of the conversation, Mike got a call from his father. He immediately picked up the phone and asked what his father was up to calling him.

"Is Daren with you?" Edgar asked over the phone.

Of course Mike was confused by the question because it was obvious he couldn’t be with Daren. But his father’s question got him thinking, that meant Daren wasn’t at home.

"Since this morning he left the house alone without his vehicle but he hasn’t returned yet. I’ve been trying to call him but he hasn’t picked up at all," the man explained, causing Mike to worry.

"But it’s raining outside, so if he hasn’t returned where is he?" he asked.

But until now they still hadn’t found Daren’s whereabouts, until finally Edgar hung up the phone to continue searching for the Omega. This made Mike feel so panicked and afraid if something happened to him.

Especially with Aiden hanging around them, which could have triggered Daren’s heat again. Without thinking, he decided to go find the man too even though Louis had held him back.

"It will be very dangerous outside, please don’t go."
