Chapter 165: Trying to Keep Himself Busy

As time went on, Mike began to slowly return to normal and he was no longer thinking about the alpha. He began to be preoccupied with Daren’s work that kept coming into his email.

Therefore, he chose to keep himself busy so that he didn’t have to think about it anymore. He wrote a list of times and places where Daren would be shooting movies, photo shoots and talk shows.

Not only him, Victor also helped to look after Daren while he was still getting his vacation before his next mission. Because the man was still unsure about Mike’s condition.

"Today there will be a shoot on the beach for a cold drink commercial. So there will definitely be a lot of people watching the shoot this time, be prepared," Mike warned Victor because whenever they were shooting outdoors, there would definitely be a lot of fans trying to get close to Daren.

The fans would tell each other in their fanbase if Daren was shooting in one of the locations, so more and more people would come to bring gifts or something.

"A cold drink commercial? I wonder what it would be like. I really like it when I have to do beverage or food commercials like this," Daren said because every time they do a commercial like this, he will definitely get some pieces from the food or beverage brand he is advertising.

"You’ve been eating a lot lately, aren’t you worried about getting fat because of that?" asked Victor.

"I’m still actively doing sports, so I won’t get fat easily. Moreover, my busy schedule keeps draining my energy. So I need a lot of food to replenish it!"

Victor rolled his eyes when he heard his own lover’s ramblings. Daren chuckled at his reaction, then pinched Victor’s cheek to annoy him and swatted away Daren’s hand.

"Don’t you dare do that again, it’s really annoying," he protested, feeling that such things were done to small children.

Moreover, Daren had called him ’cute’.

Mike who saw it from the rearview mirror could only sigh softly, masking his jealousy every time he saw Daren and Victor jokingly laughing with each other. It was hard for him to let go of Daren even though he knew he would never be his.

Until they finally arrived at the set, a large beach that was meant for the public. But since there would be filming there, the crew had neutralized the place and used it partially for filming purposes.

"It’s been a long time since I went to the beach. Sometimes I worry about taking off my clothes in public because the scars on my chest are still a little visible," Daren complained, unbuttoning his shirt a little and revealing the lines on his chest.

He and Victor clearly remembered the wound that had left a mark on Omega’s chest. The wound where all the chaos had happened, but it was also the beginning of the current life that was free from his father and also Sam who was trying to get revenge.

"I have it too, but it doesn’t matter because let’s just say that it’s a scar and it was done by a professional," Victor said proudly because he had done it.

He immediately gave his lover a cynical look as he pouted in annoyance.

Daren was finally taken to the changing room to be made up and groomed as filming was about to begin. And just like Mike said, there were tons of fans of Daren and the other actors who came to watch the open shoot.

It was at times like that that Victor’s alert instincts kicked in, paying attention to his surroundings just as before but this time he had to be more observant, worried about Aiden’s unexpected appearance.

The shoot went on as usual, a few movie tags were shot where Daren was the main center of the commercials. To Victor’s relief, the actor playing his lover was the one who had always been casual with Daren and never sought attention from him.

"Luckily neither Ace nor Zach have been seen lately. They’re both busy with their own projects and I hope Daren doesn’t get a movie project with them," Mike said.

"Yeah I was thinking that too. Those two guys really make my head hurt when they’re around Daren," Victor replied as he folded his arms across his chest.

For some reason at the same time, Mike felt the dominant pheromones of an alpha binding around him. The pheromones were so strong that Mike could have fallen to his knees in front of the alpha.

’What’s going on? Why do I feel unusual pheromones around here? Is this Victor’s?’

He then turned to the alpha standing next to him, as he was the only one very close to him.

"Hey, can you not release your pheromones too strongly? It’s shaking up the pheromones in me a bit. You must know my current state right?" said Mike asking Victor not to release his pheromones too much.

Victor himself did not release his pheromones threateningly or anything else, because there was no threat around him.

"Maybe you’re just too imaginative or tired, you can go and clear your head. I’ll look after Daren here," the man replied.

Knowing that, Mike felt that this was not imagination because he knew these pheromones were very familiar to him. It was like he had already felt pheromones this strong around him.

’That’s weird, if it’s not his then whose is it?’ he thought in confusion.

As Victor said, Mike then left the set to get some fresh air. He was still around, but not close to the crew and the others.

Until finally he was on the other side of the beach which was quite quiet while looking at the vast sea, along with the wind blowing towards him.

At times like this, he was reminded of his childhood with Daren who used to run around on the beach playing with the sand. He and Daren had also swum on the beach with Aldrich, who was looking after them at the time.

"Sometimes I really miss those times, but I know things won’t be the same again," he said with a sigh.

Everything felt so calm and there was only the sound of the water waves in his ears, until he heard footsteps approaching from behind followed by the voice of a man speaking to him.

"Then don’t you miss me?"
