Kaidan Game Train: Abide Rule or Die!
Chapter 877: Twisted World

Chapter 877: Chapter 877: Twisted World

"Looks like you guys aren’t too welcoming of me," Zhuang Mengtian cautiously retreated.

Xu Huo then asked Sha Jia and You Si about the hallucinations they experienced on the train.

Sha Jia had also undergone Super Evolution mentally, so he was less affected. Not only that, but he had also prevented a slaughter in his compartment the second evening, thus becoming friends with Pu Donghai.

Moreover, no one in his compartment and the one behind had eaten any food outside of the set meal.

You Si was on edge throughout the journey, with little rest, and was barely affected by hallucinations.

However, the last night, he learned about the situation of others in the compartment, such as the deceased Xu Jinfeng. He had seen hallucinations, but not to an undiscernible degree.

That is to say, within the same compartment, it was only Xu Huo who was significantly affected after eating pudding.

Having ruled out external factors, Xu Huo could only consider the Perfect Potion.

He moved his body, but the sensation of being wrapped in something obstructive had not yet dissipated.

"Murder!" a scream came, and as Xu Huo looked over, several people had already fallen into the water below. From the floor that had instantly turned transparent, one could clearly see the situation below, including several ordinary people and the player number 64 among them.

He struggled underwater for half a minute, dodged the attacks of mutated fish, and managed to make a human head-sized hole in the floor. However, as soon as his hand reached out, a thin sheet like paper slipped through the floor, severing his arm and firmly sealing it onto the floor.

Fresh blood surged in the water again. Player number 64 moved a meter to the side, glaring hatefully at the player who used the prop. However, the long-haired player with a prince-like aura merely waved his hand, saying, "Bye."

Player number 64, not giving up, tried twice more to escape the mutated fish and climb back up, but ultimately did not succeed—the square prohibited killing, but not adding insult to injury.

Player number 64 ultimately died underwater due to exhaustion, his body stripped to the bones by a Piranha Swarm.

The floor turned white again.

Just now, Xu Huo and the others were discussing the situation on the train and hadn’t noticed the details. A while later, Xiao Xianglin came over to tell them it was player number 18 who had severed player number 64’s arm. Initially, both sides controlled the scope of their fight, but unexpectedly, player number 18 pulled an ordinary person in as a human shield. Player number 64, unable to stop in time, committed murder and was thus expelled.

Noticing their gaze, player number 18 turned to Xu Huo and smiled slightly, mouthing, "No need to thank me."

This indeed saved Xu Huo a trouble; he needed to change teammates.

During the second round of the tricolor contest, two more groups of people were expelled or implicated due to murder. A total of thirteen people died in all three incidents; people from the back moved up, leaving one person out.

It was Xiaoxiao, the girl who came with them on the same train; her partner died in the first round, and she alone survived. Luckily, she was left out of the second round.

She lowered her head and walked to the edge of the square, seemingly with little will to survive, as if she could die at any moment.

Xu Huo handed her a piece of bread and a bottle of water; the backpack she had brought yesterday was nowhere in sight. "Want something to eat?"

Xiaoxiao looked exhausted, and as she lifted her head to look at him, tears streamed again. She wiped them away messily, sobbing and thanking him while stuffing the food into her mouth.

Non-players also took Potions. Xu Huo picked a lower-level stamina-replenishing Potion for her. "Drink this. A life fought desperately for by your lover, do not die so carelessly."

Xiaoxiao clutched the Potion and sobbed loudly, her teary eyes almost bleeding in agony.

Xu Huo handed her a handkerchief and offered no words of comfort.

When her emotions had stabilized somewhat, Xiao Xianglin, unable to hold back, asked, "I heard you came here to take a chance because of romantic love. Where exactly did you live originally, where it was completely unlivable between the same sex?"

"In my hometown, although there might be odd glances, it hadn’t reached the level of discrimination."

"It’s not about discrimination—it’s illegal," Xiaoxiao said bitterly. "Our country has undergone two massacres, and women are scarce. The law established necessitates every female to bear children upon reaching adulthood, with at least two daughters to qualify as a legal citizen."

"What if someone is infertile?" Xiao Xianglin asked instinctively then explained, "I’m not arguing for the sake of argument, but if the male partner is infertile, marriage also wouldn’t result in children, right?"

"There are other men," said Xiaoxiao. "If one doesn’t work out, switch to another. Every woman gives birth to at least five children in her lifetime."

Everyone present remained silent.

Already married and with children, one could imagine the tremendous pressure faced by women who did not wish for marriage and children. For cases like Xiaoxiao’s, it likely wasn’t just about forced marriage and childbirth.

"I’ve been to many game sectors and have never seen such a thing," You Si finally said after a while. "Even if some sectors have a very low population, the ratio isn’t distorted to this extent."

The mere discrepancy of fewer women than men wouldn’t lead to such a breeding-like situation; it must be that the population imbalance had reached a brink of near species extinction to become so warped and perverse.

"Hasn’t your country’s population recovered yet?" After a while, Xu Huo finally said. "The massacre must have been a long time ago."

"Twenty years," Xiaoxiao said tearfully. "I was born in that manner; actually, there is no real scarcity of people now—they just enjoy the thrill of exploiting others."

"It’s a pity I can’t be a player; if I were, I would definitely kill all those people!"

"That’s really disastrous," Xiao Xianglin sighed. "I’ve seen many who cause trouble and murder, but it’s the first time I’ve come across those striving for extinction. Indeed, the world has all kinds of people."

"If you can’t settle in Sea World, what do you plan to do?" Xu Huo asked.

"Can I even survive leaving here?" Xiaoxiao counter-asked.

"You can buy a non-player Tickets to live in another sector," Sha Jia spoke up. "Apart from Sea World, there are many worlds suitable for living."

"I don’t have the means to buy other tickets," Xiaoxiao shook her head. "If I survive, I’ll be sent back."

This was the preliminary notice before signing up for the show; Sea World would not keep people from other sectors.

Just buying tickets to leave was not sayable here unless one obtained residency rights; she wouldn’t even qualify to enter the city.

"Anyway, she’s already dead; it’s nice if I die here too," Xiaoxiao seemed to be speaking to Xu Huo and the others, but also as if talking to herself.

Sha Jia sighed. "Who knows how many more such tragedies there are."

"It’s my turn," Xiao Xianglin stood up. "I hope I have better luck this time... If I don’t make it out, it’s probably because Brother Yu’s method works, go ahead and give it a try!"
