Chapter 805: Chaotic Night

Chapter 805: Chapter 805: Chaotic Night

Xu Huo hadn’t gone far when at the exit of the underground parking, he split a runaway car into two halves and kicked a player who had been blown towards the parking lot out. He then moved a broken street lamp pole nearby to block the entrance and put up a "Do Not Enter" sign.

Not only the co-driver but a few players confronting nearby saw his actions, one of them sneered instantly, "I thought you were someone who mattered, and now you’re saying not to enter?"

Xu Huo didn’t say anything, just gestured "please" with his hand.

He stood behind the street lamp, seemingly oblivious to the provocation directed at him, his expression unchanged, not to mention any sign of apprehension.

The provoked player laughed in anger, "If I weren’t busy right now, I would have taught you what a society beatdown really feels like!"

Xu Huo turned his head and walked away.

The other player’s opponent mockingly said, "Look at you, it’s obvious you’re a weakling even without fighting!"

This player obviously couldn’t stand the taunt and charged towards the underground parking, but he abruptly stopped in front of the horizontal street lamp and fiercely glared at Xu Huo a few meters away.

It was getting dark and several nearby street lamps were dismantled, making outside darker than inside the parking—this had been the case when they first arrived nearby a few minutes earlier.

But now, the lights in the underground parking had been turned off at some unknown time, and the road downwards was pitch-black; the player who had peeked from behind them had also disappeared, leaving only Xu Huo standing ahead with half his body hidden in darkness, barely visible, but more like a dangerous signal, starkly reminding people to keep their distance, or the consequences would be unpredictable!

The player instinctively retreated, but then the person who had enraged him used a prop to make him slip into the underground parking!

Darkness soaked over from all directions like water, and amidst his shock, the player struggled to breathe. He clawed at his neck while trying to run backward, but when he turned his head, the place he came from had also turned dark, every street lamp and street view gone; extending his hands, he could only grab a viscous liquid!

Within seconds, his mouth was forced open as the sticky stuff squeezed into his throat, and just when he was about to choke, he suddenly saw Xu Huo appear in front, right by that street lamp!

Without hesitation, he ran towards him, bent down to pass under the street lamp, and then knelt on the ground, vomiting profusely.

He hadn’t swallowed anything real; what he threw up was just stomach acid, but his condition truly startled both his companions and opponents because to them, it appeared he had entered the parking and come out in just a few seconds without even confronting Xu Huo, yet he emerged in such a state!

A steel cable flew in and pulled this young player away; his companions caught him and asked, "What just happened? What did he do?"

The player, who had vomited even tears and mucus, quickly waved his hand, "Don’t ask too much... let’s just go... he is probably a Spirit Evolution type player..."

Spirit Evolution players, though few among countless players, proved their longevity in the game by, at least, evolving a killer move. Because regular players could resist some Mental Interference, those who lacked strength would probably die at the hands of others when they were low level.

Xu Huo dared to pull such a stunt in public, which definitely wasn’t blind confidence; he had also learned from earlier mistakes.

Zone 009 was now crowded with players, and there was no irreconcilable hatred to risk their lives over a moment’s anger.

The young player decisively retreated, and seconds later, another group also retreated,

Peace returned outside the parking lot.

Xu Huo seemed pensive, standing for a while before turning to head back.

The player who had disposed of the trash properly closed the trash can lid and obediently followed him back to the car.

After all, it was the Capital Safe Zone. Though there were minor fights, large-scale demolition hadn’t occurred yet, other than a few that fought their way to the parking area, the night was relatively calm.

The next day just as dawn broke, Yan Jiayu climbed out of her sleeping bag to exercise. Regular gym equipment no longer matched her physical ability; the dumbbells were specially ordered from other zones,

She also had a stance-holding exercise routine.

Seeing her so busy, Xu Huo went out to buy breakfast.

The electronic screens on the streets were showing violent incidents from last night; at least fifty civilians had been killed in player conflicts. The government had opened several parks, urging those camping by the roadside or living in cars to squeeze into the parks, and announced that the Capital Safe Zone was temporarily under lockdown, no more people allowed in.

"Might as well stay in the wilderness," someone complained, but there was nothing they could do; the players in charge of city security had started to drive people out.

When Xu Huo returned with breakfast, the street lamp outside had been removed, and several players in uniform were already at the underground parking.

People could take personal belongings, but those who drove in were not allowed to take their vehicles.

"Is this even reasonable!" the co-driver yelled discontentedly, "How are we supposed to leave without a car?"

Many people gathered to protest, but today’s players weren’t tolerating it; after firing a gun, someone stood on a car and announced, "We’re not asking for discussion. Everyone must move to the park by noon today. If you don’t want to go, we can help you make the trip!"

The players were indifferent, while the ordinary people, holding their breaths in anger, could only pack up their bags and leave with the crowd.

The co-driver cautiously approached Xu Huo, "Big brother, should we leave?"

Xu Huo glanced at him, "What do you think?"

The co-driver went to retrieve his bag.

While eating a meat bun, Yan Jiayu asked Xu Huo, "Where are we heading later?"

"To the mall," Xu Huo said. "There’s a store there specifically for players selling props and potions."

Following behind them, the co-driver tentatively asked, "Brother, sister, should I..."

Yan Jiayu waved a hand, "Goodbye."

The co-driver was reluctant to leave, but didn’t impose himself and joined the crowd with his bag.

Soon, Xu Huo and Yan Jiayu left the main group and headed to the player mall.

The player mall was run by players, and those daring to keep it open had few real items; low-level props were on display, but everything else could only be bought through a digital screen.

Yan Jiayu had a special affinity for various potions, not only did she buy a bunch, but she also excitedly bought a Jelly Potion Blind Box to taste, and a second later, her face twisted, "Tastes like canned fish..."

Xu Huo chuckled and handed her a bottle of water.
