Chapter 727: Fake Person Number and Terrifying Prison

Chapter 727: Chapter 727: Fake Person Number and Terrifying Prison

Their time neither stopped nor repeated, and the memories of yesterday hadn’t disappeared; there was no time loop.

Under this premise, their time was still moving forward, so they still had to complete the task of passing through within the remaining six days.

Xu Ruosi also had the same idea, she put away the display prop, "As long as we pass and leave ahead of time, it would be fine."

A line of seven people arrived in front of the Human Model Tower. Looking up, they saw a mannequin that awkwardly had its stark white head stuck under the edge of a glass window, giving them an eerie sense of being watched.

"These models won’t come to life as well, will they?" Jie Ling muttered quietly.

Xu Huo and Long Aotian had already taken the lead and went in. These models looked much more normal than the wax figures and weren’t posed in any strange way; most were displaying clothes and accessories, wearing wigs.

"These dummies are made very realistically." The middle-aged man said.

The woman with long curly hair had already started disassembling them. However, these were just ordinary plastic models, only a size or two larger than an average person.

"They all have code numbers." Jie Ling picked up a tag hanging from the model’s finger, "C201."

"Here’s a 202," Long Aotian searched around, "The numbers seem to be consecutive. Do they have any special meaning?"

"This sort of numbering also exists at the cemetery." The man with long curly hair followed, "Most of the tombstones at the Beheaded Cemetery don’t have names; they’re all labeled with letters and numbers."

"What do you mean? The cemetery is filled with dummies?" The middle-aged man couldn’t help but ask.

The male player shut his mouth when he heard the question and stopped talking.

The middle-aged man’s complexion wasn’t good either. Jie Ling quickly smoothed things over, "Everyone wants to pass through as quickly as possible. It’s not worth wasting time on verbal disputes. Let’s get to know each other, and we won’t bring up past issues for now."

Given an out, the three of them temporarily dropped the matter, and Xu Huo and the others also learned their names.

The woman with long curly hair was called Xiao Ling, the male player was called Yu Guangnan, and the middle-aged man was called Liu Chengyi.

After the introductions, Yu Guangnan continued to talk about the situation at the Beheaded Cemetery.

Yesterday, Xiao Ling led them to dig up graves, and most of the coffins they unearthed contained dummies. The manner of death was similar—decapitation—done very realistically. Each dummy was neatly severed at the neck, then imitating the burial style of a real corpse, the head was stitched back onto the body. The numbers hanging on the dummies matched the inscriptions on the tombstones.

"Considering this place was originally an amusement park, it’s not strange to use dummies." Xiao Ling said, "It’s just that we don’t know the relationship between the cemetery and the Human Model Tower."

"Were there also corpses unearthed?" Xu Huo asked at this point.

"Yes," Xiao Ling responded briskly, "But they had rotted down to bones. Except for the cervical bones, there were fractures all over the body; hardly a bone was intact, and they weren’t old. They must have been tormented while alive."

"Why do you say that?"

"I can tell the age of the fractures," Xiao Ling said, "Every finger and toe of the three skeletons we unearthed had been broken, with injuries occurring at different times. It’s unlikely for a person to be so unlucky to break a bone every few days—outside of torture, I can’t think of any other reason."

"Could it be human experimentation?" Xu Ruosi said.

Xiao Ling lifted her eyelids to glance at her but did not follow up.

"It’s unlikely," Jie Ling said. "You don’t need to keep breaking bones for human experiments, and besides, wasn’t that businessman trying to cure a genetic disease? It’s the wrong direction."

"You didn’t dig up all the graves, did you?" Long Aotian’s focus was different from the others.

"There are hundreds of graves; I’m not an idiot," Xiao Ling said, touching her injured arm.

"Do you remember what the highest number was?" Xu Huo asked while examining the human mannequins in the store.

Both Xiao Ling and Yu Guangnan tried to recall, "It was over a hundred, but we didn’t pay attention to whether the numbers were complete or not."

"Do you think there’s a connection?" Xiao Ling asked.

"The mannequins in Human Model Tower and the numbers at the cemetery might be linked, possibly buried in numerical order," Xu Huo concluded after looking around upstairs and downstairs and noticing that some numbers were missing. Thinking of the three wax figures that had run out of the Wax Figure Gallery in the morning, he felt that these human mannequins could probably move as well.

However, the wax figures that ran out from the Wax Figure Gallery were ghostly characters from horror tales, one was the middle-aged man who Xu Ruosi said followed behind, and the other two were the twins mentioned by Jie Ling. It was unclear whether the missing numbers from the human mannequins had any special significance.

After inspecting the entire building and finding nothing special, the group then moved on to the adjacent Insanity Prison.

The layout here was uncomfortable to say the least, with a musty old decor that carried the smell of decay. The mottled floors and walls seemed to have been soaked with some kind of liquid, making them look filthy and hard to clean. From the entrance, layer upon layer of iron doors were locked, and the single rooms were so filthy one couldn’t step inside, with used tissues, a variety of odd, unidentified liquids, and clogs in the yellowed toilets that hadn’t been flushed away.

It was so lifelike that it instantly triggered a stench.

Further inside, some rooms held "prisoners," all portrayed by human mannequins, and the guards beating them were also fake.

The mannequins were both male and female. Apart from private punishments, there were also scenes of rape, bribery, and more. The further back you went, the more distressing it became. Besides the guards humiliating and abusing the "prisoners," they would also randomly pick people to enact beheadings, electric chair executions, and forced drug poisoning, among various other forms of death.

All players present were more or less uncomfortable. Xu Huo walked to the end of the prison and back, stopping in front of the two "female prisoners" who were being held down. After kicking the mannequins off them, he lifted the "female prisoners’" clothes.

"Using the image of pregnant women for such a setting, the planner of this place is truly disgusting," Xu Ruosi turned her face away.

Kneeling in front of the mannequin, Xu Huo looked gravely concerned. The Wax Figure Gallery told of a mass epidemic event, and indeed, there were real bodies buried below. This suggested that the scenes in Insanity Prison might also have happened in reality.

If you looked closely at the "prisoners’" clothes, they weren’t prison uniforms but more like everyday wear. Most of the "guards" wore white shirts and pants, which also didn’t fit the prison setting.

"Should we dig underground to see if there are any bodies?" Jie Ling also sensed something and suggested.

Although Xu Huo felt it was unlikely for bodies to be here, after looking at the "female prisoner’s" protruding belly, he agreed with the suggestion.

The group turned up the floorboards and found nothing, but as they were about to leave, the main door of Insanity Prison suddenly closed and automatically locked, and several iron chains sprang from the lock and quickly covered the outside of the entire prison venue.

At the same time, several players appeared outside the door, standing at varying distances on both sides of the street. Among them, one stout man slobbered as he gazed at Xiao Ling, "I told you someone got here before us. Look at that little wench, her skin is so tender, she must be delicious!"
