Kaidan Game Train: Abide Rule or Die!
Chapter 668 Survival Copy

Chapter 668: Chapter 668 Survival Copy

The young players’ attention was all on the tall and strong man. Seeing him stop, the man in the seat also picked up his hat, weakly saying, "I’m injured, you should find another seat."

Normally, the tall and strong man would not have let the matter rest, even if just to save face for himself, but upon hearing the man speak, he grinned sheepishly, "Well, since you’re sick, it’s only right."

Then he chose an empty seat and sat down.

Peace was restored on the bus as the passengers once again shifted their gazes away, some sleeping, some watching TV, and two elderly ladies merrily coaxing a child.

The sounds of music, snoring, and children crying nearly made Xu Huo’s head explode. He pressed his cap over his face, the veins at his temples throbbing repeatedly.

In Country Y, he still found himself in trouble; after boarding the train, he discovered an injury on his arm. The wound festered from underneath the skin on his right forearm, deteriorating until the outer skin broke open. Cutting it open, he saw that the flesh had rotted all the way to the bone.

Neither the Self-Healing Potion nor the Antitoxin had any effect. The King Fungus Mycelium repeatedly repaired the wound, but the cycle of burning pain and swelling left him exhausted and increasingly irritable.

Unfortunately, he had already used this month’s bounty hunting feature and could not check the reason on the game platform. He had hoped to find some clues in the new zone after getting off, but instead discovered that the dimensional train had arrived in a very remote mountain forest, which only had one bus a day passing through to the county town.

The bus could seat 29 people including the driver. Judging by the look of the bus and the attire of most passengers, the economic level here was likely similar to a small county town under a mid-tier city in Zone 014, which probably wouldn’t have an information exchange platform.

The female gamer with braided hair chatted with fellow passengers, asking them where they were from, where they had come back from, which places this bus would pass by, and what time it would arrive at the county town.

She gave some candy to an auntie’s grandson, and the auntie was very happy to chat with her, even offering, "My dear, are you visiting from out of town? Why not stay with us at my place? Our guesthouse is very clean, even better than a hotel."

"Sure," the female gamer said cheerily, "Once we arrive, I’ll check out your place first. I have quite high standards for accommodation, but if your place is really nice, I can pay extra for the room."

The auntie waved her hands earnestly, "Visitors from afar are guests, we’re just looking to liven things up, we can’t be raising prices."

"You’re so kind, auntie."

This conversation left both parties satisfied, and after the auntie’s grandson started crying again, no one else on the bus spoke.

There were about seven gamers on the bus now, including the woman with braids. Only three gamers chose to extract information from fellow passengers, while most others were resting with their eyes closed, and there was no interaction among gamers.

In the evening, the bus finally arrived in the county town amidst jolts and bumps.

The young player who had attempted to stop the tall and strong man immediately said upon disembarking, "Can this be called a county town?"

There were only a few vehicles coming and going inside the station, with worn and aging facilities, not even a proper gate.

Looking out from the entrance, several diverging roads seemed to end within sight. The buildings here resembled rural self-built houses, mostly two or three stories tall, some of which looked like small villas. There weren’t many people around, nor were there many cars.

"It’s not a county town at all, at most it’s just a small town," the braided gamer said.

Exiting the station, the gamers immediately received a game prompt:

[You have entered the Sifang Palace Territory and by default joined the Level D Copy "Shared Vision."]

[Background Introduction: Sifang Palace City was once a tourist city famous for its religion. As the young and strong population dwindled, the city’s birthrate steadily declined, and the city size has repeatedly shrunk. Now it has become a small city with less than a thousand people, where residents rely on a handful of tourists and handicrafts for their livelihood.]

[The customs passed down from the ancestors are still preserved here, with complete or incomplete religious sculptures visible throughout the city. Every household worships religious deities and adheres to religious customs; every person can be considered a devout Cultist. At the same time, they are generous and hospitable, providing the best rooms in their homes for guests and offering the best food they have. Often, visitors may not even need to pay.]

[Please find accommodation before midnight. This copy is a survival game lasting seven days.]

Compared to previous copies, the introduction of this one was very simple, providing only a rough background without specific danger warnings, except that the title "Shared Vision" might somehow relate to danger, so there was very little actionable information.

An obvious increase in difficulty.

The others apparently weren’t new to these survival copies; a neatly coiffured middle-aged man said, "Since this is a survival copy and we are not in competition with each other, how about we cooperate?"

"I have no objections," The young player was the first to respond.

Some nodded approval, some implicitly agreed, but one man in a black shirt carrying a backpack pushed his hat down and walked away without a word.

The remaining six didn’t bother about him and introduced themselves one by one.

The one who suggested the idea was the middle-aged man, named Tian Kunwen, and his profession was a photographer.

The woman with the braids was called Fu Danhong, and she was a salesperson.

The young male player, Wei Xian, was a Fishing Expert.

The tall and strong man, You Jun, worked as a welder.

And another long-haired female player, Yi Pei, was a security officer.

Xu Huo’s gaze lingered momentarily on Yi Pei’s face before introducing himself, "Xu Zhi, a martial artist."

"Your professions don’t seem to be very people-oriented," Wei Xian said jokingly in an attempt to lighten the mood.

Xu Huo gave him a cold glance and didn’t speak. Wei Xian felt a little embarrassed, but Yi Pei kindly explained, "When I first chose my profession, I thought it would turn me into that, so I chose security personnel for the Combat Power. I didn’t expect..."

She smiled somewhat sheepishly before finishing her sentence.

"Stop pretending," Fu Danhong cut in bluntly, "having reached Level D Copy now, why bother setting up such a weak persona? Don’t mislead others and end up dragging us all down."

Tian Kunwen and the others didn’t speak up for Yi Pei. After all, in the game, whether something is true or false, anyone who takes it seriously is the fool.

"Since we’re going to cooperate anyway, isn’t it better to discuss and negotiate? How does your attitude benefit us?" Yi Pei countered Fu Danhong.

"That’s my attitude; if you don’t like it, you can leave," Fu Danhong said with a malicious smile.

Yi Pei frowned and was about to turn around when she nearly bumped into Xu Huo, who happened to be standing beside her. Yi Pei quickly apologized. Xu Huo waved it off, indicating it was fine, and then said, "Let’s find a place to stay first; we may have to split up with so many people."

"It’s getting dark, and although the game says before midnight, the danger in survival copies multiplies at night," Tian Kunwen said. "We still don’t know what we’re facing; once lodgings are secured, we can discuss what to do next."
