Chapter 621: Chapter 621: Time to Take Medicine

Gu Yu was startled and quickly went over to push Zheng Liang, who slowly opened his eyes and came back to his senses, "I just fell asleep!"

"This isn’t normal," Brother Liang also woke up Guan Zuhong, who would dare to sleep under these circumstances, especially since they had only been sitting on the bed for two minutes.

"Don’t touch the bed, and don’t close your eyes," he said, "Let’s keep each other awake to avoid accidents."

The few of them dared not touch the bed, and simply sat on the floor. Everyone managed to stay awake for the first ten minutes, but after Zheng Liang was the first to fall asleep, Wen Xuelin also leaned against Gu Yu and closed her eyes, followed by Brother Liang and Guan Zuhong falling to the ground.

"Thud, thud, thud!" Someone knocked on the door of the hospital room. After several knocks with no response, the person outside started ramming the door, and the bed frame blocking the door soon fell down along with the door panel...

"Bang!" The Scarred Player and a few other players were in a room on the fifth floor. They clearly heard the sound of the door being rammed from the floor below, but the door that fell was that of their room. A dark brown creature of the same height as the door entered from the outside—it had the basic shape of a human, a torso, limbs, but the exposed skin was multicolored, all mottled with patched-up scars.

In its hand was an axe attached to a chain through a small forearm. After breaking down the door, it immediately lunged at the nearest player, grabbing his throat and at the same time swinging the axe toward the Scarred Player.

The players in this room were all Cannibal Players. Unable to develop special abilities, they generally had a higher evolution rate and enhanced muscle strength. So the player who was grabbed by the throat immediately caught the creature’s palm, flipped over to the side, and with a twist, broke the creature’s wrist!

On the other side, the Scarred Player dodged the axe and then used a tool to nail the chain on the back of the axe to the wall. With a forceful pull, the alien’s right small forearm flew off!

The other players also took action. One of them threw out a handful of powder-like substance. When the powder landed on the creature, it ignited and burned until the creature was dead.

The creature’s screams echoed through the building. However, before the sound could fade, other noises emerged from the corridor outside.

"There’s more than one monster roaming the hospital," players scattered in different rooms realized.

Although no one ventured out, some players managed to see what the monsters looked like. The stitched-together abominations resembled the grotesque human experiments from creepy medical legends. This was a hospital after all, and the ones who entered were "mentally ill" with no rights— it wouldn’t be strange if the doctors experimented on them.

The situation was unclear. Later, no players risked going out, and the Scarred Player and his group simply changed rooms and locked the door again.

But the footsteps and knocking in the hallway did not stop, and there was an increasing trend. In corners unseen by anyone, monsters continuously appeared out of thin air and joined the nocturnal parade. However, most looked like the bizarre products of experimentation, and a few Aliens also showed up,

The most detached from reality was the "ghost woman" conjured up by Wen Xuelin’s imagination.

Xu Huo came down from an upper floor and found the wandering ghost woman in the corridor.

The ghost woman only walked when the lights flickered off; when the lights were on, she would stand still.

Watching her walk towards him, Xu Huo raised his hand, and the lights lit up one by one, illuminating the entire corridor brightly.

The ghost woman’s head was tilted forward, her hair reaching below her knees, dripping water steadily.

He placed a door in front of her, but the ghost woman refused to proceed, her toes still pointing towards him.

Xu Huo tapped the floor, and the corridor’s ground turned into a vanishing black fog. The ghost woman fell through, and then a scream was heard from a room on the fourth floor.

One disturbance wasn’t enough for him. He walked back and forth in the corridor several times, stuffing "something" into several rooms. Soon, players ran out, and he randomly chose a ward, opened it, and walked in, coming to the room where Gu Yu and the others were.

He woke them up, and Gu Yu looked at him with surprise, "You came in too!"

Xu Huo nodded, "Earlier than everyone else. This is a spiritual-type random copy. Things of fantasy might become real, so it’s best not to think too much."

Wen Xuelin’s complexion changed, and she quickly took out her phone. "Since we can’t get out anyway, I’ll just play some games on my phone until dawn."

"Things we imagine in this copy can become real?" Brother Liang couldn’t believe it, "Do the things imagined have the ability to attack?"

"Yes, as long as someone believes they have the ability to attack," Xu Huo said. "In short, the more you believe it’s real, the more real it becomes. When I came over, I saw aliens and ghosts outside. It’s best not to go out at night and wait until daylight to discuss further."

"Also, I explored the building behind us. It’s best not to go there. The easiest task among the three would probably be the first one."

"Do our items work against the ghosts?" Wen Xuelin asked hastily.

Xu Huo paused, "Can you still open your personal panels now?"

Gu Yu and the others looked shocked. "This copy is that powerful!"

Xu Huo nodded, "Most of what happens in the hospital is fake, but, influenced by the copy’s power, players will think it’s real."

"That’s awesome! I have a bold idea," Zheng Liang said, looking at them. "If players can’t open their personal panels after they enter, doesn’t that mean we are all on a level playing field?"

"That’s a good approach," Gu Yu said. "But we can’t guarantee this will be the case for every player, right?"

"Indeed," Xu Huo replied. "But it should work for most players."

"Then it’s settled!" Zheng Liang clapped his hands. "Once we get out, we inform the Special Defense Department and have them herd the Cannibal Players this way."

"We haven’t cleared the game yet," Brother Liang calmly reminded, then looked to Xu Huo. "Are you confident?"

"We’ll try tomorrow and know for sure," Xu Huo said, listening to the sounds outside for a moment. "I’ll step out for a bit. Don’t look for me. If you can clear it, go ahead and leave."

Finishing his words, he didn’t wait for the others to speak and pulled the door open, walking out. Gu Yu followed a few steps and was about to say something, leaning on the door, when she found Xu Huo had already disappeared without a trace, and the corridor was engulfed in silence!

She turned back with a sense of dread, "What we just saw couldn’t have been an illusion, could it?"

"It shouldn’t be," Wen Xuelin said somewhat stutteringly. "Could we actually imagine a living person into existence?"

Guan Zuhong next to them asked, "Do you think the nurse and security guard were real?"

The room suddenly fell quiet, but Zheng Liang waved off the concern, "It’s definitely Xu Huo. If you see his face, it’s so punchable even when he’s changed it; you know it can’t be fake."

Gu Yu looked at him speechlessly and after a few seconds said, "Let’s wait until tomorrow to talk about it."

As they waited, they involuntarily fell asleep again. However, when they woke up this time, the events of the previous night seemed like an illusion. Their clothes had changed into patient gowns, and everyone they saw was wearing patient gowns, moving about in the corridors. A middle-aged nurse was delivering medication to different rooms, and downstairs, vehicles drove closer, with the relatives of patients coming carrying fruit and bread.

"Room 407, it’s time for your medication," a nurse called out to them, approaching.
