Chapter 258: Chapter 258: Buy Candy to Get a Free Tour Guide

The setting of this copy seems a bit capricious.

This was Xu Huo’s first impression after reading the related information about the copy.

The amusement park copy clearly differed from the story copies they had encountered before; there was no background introduction, and although the rules for playing seemed numerous, the important content was actually not that abundant.

The first was purchasing tickets; having bought a Multiple Person Ticket, you could only move together, and coupled with the second rule that you cannot play in two park zones in a single day, it meant players with a Multiple Person Ticket could only choose one zone at a time. Next was the prohibition of harming staff members, and there were question segments during the playing process. Lastly, you were not allowed to destroy the Pink Hats.

What exactly the Pink Hats referred to was yet to be determined. However, the game did not provide a single word about the methods of playing related to the game tasks.

"Maybe we’ll know once we’re inside." Yan Jiayu pointed to a card in mid-air. "Which one should we choose?"

"Which one do you want to choose?" Xu Huo asked her.

"I like Bunny Bear Fun Park. It just sounds interesting." After Yan Jiayu finished speaking, the joker tossed the card down, and the light, floating card turned into a door when it hit the ground. A plush pirate jumped up, slapped the door knocker, and the doors slowly opened.

"Welcome to Bunny Bear Fun Park!"

Xu Huo and Yan Jiayu walked side by side into it, only to discover upon exiting through a circular doorway that they had actually entered through the thick trunk of a large tree. The exit was a tree hollow, and as soon as they stepped out, the tree hollow closed behind them as if it had never been there.

Xu Huo then surveyed their surroundings. It seemed that the door did not lead to an amusement park in the common sense, but to an old fairy-tale forest. The air was filled with the mixed scent of damp soil and the decomposition of dead animals and plants.

"The air here is really fresh, even better than in the mountains. I didn’t expect to find such a nice place in the game." Yan Jiayu took a deep breath and turned her head to see a sign next to the tree. "Bear’s Snack Stand this way."

"Hold on a moment." Xu Huo stopped her and then bent down to pick up a rock, throwing it towards a tree twenty meters away.

"Thump!" The rock left a shallow mark on the tree bark. A person stepped out from behind the tree, looked at the tree, then smiled amiably, "Stay calm, I mean no harm."

The man appeared to be in his forties, but on his head, he wore a pink dome hat that mismatched his attire.

You must not destroy the Pink Hats. That was a rule of the copy.

"Who are you?" Yan Jiayu pulled out a Stone Stick.

"Don’t be nervous," the man quickly waved his hand, slowly walking towards them. "You must be players who just entered. I am also playing this copy and have been inside for two days. I’ve found it’s somewhat difficult to clear this copy alone, so I was hoping to find someone to form a team... You two are by yourselves. How about we stick together?"

Seeing that Xu Huo and Yan Jiayu did not respond, the man took out a few hat models the size of a thumb, "To show my sincerity, I can give each of you two Little Pink Hats."

"This might be a trap," Yan Jiayu eyed the items in his hands suspiciously. "Are the little hats game props?"

"They’re not props," the man smiled helplessly. "I really mean no harm. Actually, you get one of these little hats after each question game, like collecting stamps. You collect Little Pink Hats from different places, and you need a certain number of them to finish playing in this park zone."

"You two just entered and don’t have any hats. I have extra Little Pink Hats and just wanted to make friends with you."

"Teaming up is fine, but we don’t need the Little Hats. The game is more fun when you play it yourself." Xu Huo glanced at the sign. "Bear’s Snack Stand is up ahead. Shall we go together?"

The man’s face darkened, "You have to collect them one by one anyway. Isn’t it better to get four at once and save the trouble of going to four different places?"

"Not really." Xu Huo looked him up and down, "You’re not going to insist on giving them to us, are you?"

The man stuffed the small cap back into his pocket, put his hands behind him, but unexpectedly, he didn’t make a move and instead vanished from the woods.

"What’s going on?" Yan Jiayu asked suspiciously.

"Let’s go and check it out," Xu Huo said.

The two quickly arrived at Bear’s Snack Stand, following the signs along the route.

Behind a pink snack stall, a two-meter-tall mascot bear waved at them. As they approached, it enthusiastically recommended, "Today we have new products from E010: Eyeball Bouncy Candy and Cloud Puffs, along with E007’s special Sour Plum Candy and Toe Cheese. Would you like to try any?"

"That’s expensive," Yan Jiayu remarked upon seeing the prices, even the cheapest lollipop was one hundred White Notes.

"Is this Eyeball Bouncy Candy made of human eyeballs?" Xu Huo inquired.

"Of course not," the mascot bear popped one into its mouth and bit down, bursting juice spread a sour-sweet aroma in the air, "Please rest assured, dear customers, all the ingredients used here at Bear’s are green and harmless. Not only are they harmless for teeth but they also strengthen the body. Would you like this one, or that one, or all of them?"

The bear patted each snack on the stall with its paw, then rested its chin on its hands and stared at them. The reflective beads in its eyes seemed alive, "You’ll get a free adventure guide only if you buy snacks."

Yan Jiayu had a fondness for snacks and, despite finding them expensive, still picked out several. She opened a cheese stick shaped like a toe and after one bite, her eyes lit up.

Xu Huo, on the other hand, pointed to the jarred candies on the shelf behind, "How much for that one?"

"Five thousand White Notes!" the mascot bear immediately replied: "Each piece of candy in the jar comes from a famous candy shop’s signature collection. One hundred shops, one hundred candies, each with a unique flavor, and after eating them, you can get an 80% off coupon for one of these candy stores!"

A dubious slurping sound came from the bear’s mouth. When Xu Huo looked over, it quickly stuffed an Eyeball Bouncy Candy into its mouth.

"Can I get a discount?" Xu Huo asked, "I’m thinking of buying more."

The mascot bear excitedly spun in place, "No discount on the jarred candy, but if you buy two jars, the other candies can be 10% off!"

Xu Huo nodded in agreement, and the mascot bear tapped the glass jar, making a holographic product display pop up, showing two different color packages of jarred candy.

"Limited edition jarred candies, each ID is limited to two jars only."

Xu Huo paid for two jars, and the candies immediately appeared in his luggage compartment. He casually opened a jar with pink packaging, fed one to the bear, and tasted one himself, "Not bad."

The mascot bear patted its belly in anger.

Unmoved, Xu Huo purchased several thousand White Notes worth of snacks from the stall and asked the mascot bear that was longing without tasting, "Still a discount?"

"Yes!" the mascot bear made a fierce expression as it cracked a smile, but swiftly took the money and packed the bags.

"So pitiful," Xu Huo said with a sympathetic glance at it and left with a bag in hand.

"You like sweet stuff that much?" Yan Jiayu was quite surprised.

"No," Xu Huo brought out the adventure guide from his pocket.
