Chapter 1291: Chapter 1292: For the Future of Flower City

The man slapped his female companion’s butt, "Don’t be afraid, I’m here."

The two kissed, oblivious to the situation, while Xu Huo and Chen Chou were stuck in the elevator, neither able to leave nor to go outside, forced to watch their display.

Once the two had indulged enough, the man rudely pulled Chen Chou’s wheelchair out of the elevator, leaned over, and slapped his face with the back of his hand, "I told you before, don’t wander off for no reason. Look at your ugly face; you’ve dragged down the whole of Flower City’s looks. If it were me, I’d have found a place to hide long ago. Running outside with injuries, you really have no self-awareness."

Chen Chou’s face echoed with slaps while he turned his head aside, only apologizing with a smile after the man was satisfied, "I’m here to see Brother Le."

The man purposefully sized him up and sneered, "Got good stuff to offer?"

Chen Chou dared not leave the question unanswered, so he mumbled, "Introducing a friend to Brother Le."

Only then did the man look at Xu Huo, and after two seconds, he burst into laughter, "An ugly man’s friend is ugly too!"

Xu Huo touched his fake face, "I may not be handsome, but surely I’m not ugly."

He smiled and looked at the man, "It seems Flower City has high beauty standards for anyone who comes here."

The man’s smile disappeared as he stared at Xu Huo, ready to advance fuelled by alcohol, but suddenly he staggered and was caught by Xu Huo.

With a single hand supporting his arm, once he had steadied himself, Xu Huo gently patted his shoulder, "Want some sobering tea?"

Though smiling, the man couldn’t help but step back. Realizing his fear had shown, he hurriedly left with his female companion.

"Everyone here is like this." Chen Chou pursed his lips, arriving outside Brother Le’s room. Before knocking, he put on a broad smile.

The door was opened by a young man with a nose ring, who called inside, "Ugly guy is here," prompting laughter from inside. A voice mingled with the laughter, "He’s here as soon as you mentioned him; I want to see what the world’s ugliest person looks like. Let him in!"

Chen Chou maintained his smile as he entered calmly and explained to the young man at the door that Xu Huo had come with him.

The environment inside the room wasn’t much better than downstairs, filled with a cloying sweet smell. A young girl was popping floating balloons in the room—the sweetness was leaking from the balloons.

Noticing Xu Huo watching, she glared at him, "Never seen it, country bumpkin? It’s the latest spray, makes you happy with no side effects."

Simply put, it’s a stimulant.

Clearly, there were more than one kind of stimulant in the room. Some were using a topical potion, others a drinkable potion, and some powdered form sprinkled on food—a variety and easy to ingest.

Stimulants in the game had effects similar to certain drugs but were safer, mostly without strong dependency, widely popular with players and ordinary people. One of the players Xu Huo killed earlier was trafficking this, with half of his luggage filled with this stuff.

"Wow, he’s really ugly." A woman leaning against a man in his early thirties laughed, covering her mouth.

"Brother Le, this must be the sister-in-law." Chen Chou tactfully made small talk and then introduced Xu Huo to the man.

After greetings, Xu Huo took out the potion acquired from another player’s luggage and remarked, "Some have a strong kick; I usually don’t use them."

This piqued the interest of others, as players usually have robust bodies that handle all sorts without issue. His statement hinted at potions that weren’t standard market stimulants but rare goods not easily purchased.

"Let me try." Someone stepped forward immediately, and after a quick check, eagerly downed a bottle. Seconds later, he burst out laughing, "Thought it’d be something good, what’s this?"

Despite his words, he laughed so hard he beat the table, and moments later collapsed into a soft chair with a dreamy smile, immersed to the point of ignoring others trying to talk to him.

The effects seemed potent, yet he accurately responded to others, reassuring Brother Le and the group. Two more people picked up bottles to try.

The room fell silent for a while. Xu Huo glanced at Chen Chou, who was stuffing food in his mouth, and said, "I’ll go to the bathroom."

Coming out of the bathroom, he lighted a cigarette at the lookout on the second floor, listening to the sounds inside and outside while watching the people in the dance floor below.

Nothing noteworthy in the room, but outside on the street, someone mentioned Han Yi, realizing Han Yi was also here. However, upon his arrival, the people from that bar were invited out.

Xu Huo glanced out the window; the bar in question had four players seated outside, and the detectable parts inside had six players, yet Han Yi and his group weren’t visible.

Though these were just the players in the open.

There were noticeably more players around, clearly belonging to them.

A considerable number.

Xu Huo frowned, about to head out when a sudden, loud boom erupted from the street. A Big Man carried an enormous stone pillar, two people wide and eight meters long, and thrust it into the bar’s front entrance. The pillar, seemingly able to extend invisibly, continued crashing through two walls behind once lodged at the door.

"Ahhhh!" With a furious roar, the Big Man’s arms swelled, muscles jumping as he firmly gripped the stone pillar, then pushed with all his might—raising the entire pillar at an angle that snapped the whole bar in half!

The bar collapsed, as three players escorted Han Yi out, facing an ambush from eight players immediately. Meanwhile, the players originally at the bar entrance were also attacked.

Suddenly, the street seemed full of assailants, clearly an organized team targeting Han Family’s players, with coordinated attack strategies against them. Though slightly weaker, they effectively neutralized Han Yi’s primary combat power.

"Han Family is Flower City’s scourge! Han Yi’s crimes are beyond description! Kill Han Yi, avenge our innocent deceased comrades!" shouted the Big Man who initiated the attack.

Han Yi didn’t move an inch, calmly watching the crowd incite the players around him, his composure unchanged amidst the chaos. Beside him, his three players were like killing machines, taking down a player almost every half minute; even many attackers combined couldn’t breach their defense.

"Kill them all." Han Yi calmly ordered those protecting him, as if dismissing others as livestock.

A slew of players died before him, with even those having a chance to escape sacrificing themselves to buy time for their fellow attackers, blood spilling everywhere, yet the defensive perimeter of those three players sealed yet again.
