Kaidan Game Train: Abide Rule or Die!
Chapter 1265 - 1266: Key Address

Chapter 1265: Chapter 1266: Key Address

The city center is very bustling, even more so than Card City, with a slightly more technological vibe, since the city is built in three layers: underground and aerial.

Underground transportation tracks take up most of the space, keeping the city environment clean and tidy, so the general residents of Flower City travel mainly through underground transport—though aircrafts are also an option, but they’re not government-funded.

Besides transportation, the underground level houses large entertainment venues, a city library, and some minor government units.

The ground level is mostly residential areas, commercial zones, and the core of the District Government and its immediate jurisdiction. Notably, the District Government’s main office isn’t within its jurisdiction but adjacent to the city center.

One might wonder, if the jurisdiction doesn’t allow ordinary people in, wouldn’t it be better to build it high in the air?

Well, the aerial part is the residence of Kairo Field and his family.

Flower City, being mindful of living conditions, wouldn’t put a roof over the city. Kairo Field’s residence is at the periphery, right on the edge of the district, safely away from the residents while remaining close to the influential powers of Flower City.

The aerial layer isn’t extensive but includes a castle-like building and spacious recreational areas, giving an impressive view from afar.

It somewhat resembles a cluster of dark clouds floating over the city.

The outer part of this airborne structure is enveloped by a transparent protective light arc, with the supporting columns hidden, making it appear as if it’s entirely suspended; occasionally, one can spot an aircraft going in or out, although the specifics can’t be seen from the city.

Upon arriving at the commercial core of the city, Xu Huo alighted from his aircraft and strolled casually through the streets.

Given the high number of outsiders, the atmosphere here was not as tense as at the city’s entrance. At least, the cleaning robots weren’t incessantly issuing warnings against littering; they just cleaned quietly.

Few local residents were out for leisure here, some walked briskly, looking disconnected in their demeanor.

Of course, there were more people leisurely shopping with their children, evidently well-off, some even sported items symbolizing their status as Flower City residents, yet not dressed in uniform attire.

"Mister, would you like something to drink?" Xu Huo sat on a lounge chair as a nearby robot approached, offering free beverages and a leisure guide.

Xu Huo requested a leisure guide and found the Game Government Library using the simple map provided.

The Game Government Library is managed by the game Dimensional Rift, not every city has one, but if there is, players can enter with a borrowing card issued by the game to access information. When Xu Huo upgraded to Rank-C Player, the game gave him a Level-E Wormhole Point borrowing card, allowing him access to all wormhole points under Level E with this card.

The library was not far, just two streets away.

Unlike the dull-looking library at W37 Base Station, Flower City’s library was adorned with floral carvings except for the moving clock above the entrance. The exterior had a flower wall, pleasing to the eye.

"Hey buddy, could you lend me your borrowing card?" A short man blocked Xu Huo’s path, smiling, "I promise to return it within an hour and give you a handsome reward!"

"Borrowing cards aren’t for other people’s use," Xu Huo replied.

"There are always more solutions than problems." The short man mysteriously displayed a thin metal piece hidden in his palm, "With this, I can temporarily alter the borrowing card’s information, and it’ll work!"

"Really?" Xu Huo reached into his pocket as if to take something out, just then someone walked out of the library and stopped him, "Don’t believe him, he’s a scammer!"

The short man hastily turned and left upon seeing the newcomer, while the person from the library angrily approached Xu Huo, "What he’s holding isn’t a high-tech gadget; it’s a theft prop. He’d swap your borrowing card as soon as you took it out! I almost fell for it!"

Xu Huo glanced at him and proceeded towards the library, "Quite a good Samaritan you are."

After verifying his identity, the library doors opened, revealing rows of conventional bookshelves filled with paper books.

"Welcome, player, to the library. What information are you looking to learn this time?"

Xu Huo chose history, and a robot guided him to the correct location, "Your information is preserved in both Collection of Information Terminal and paper books, you may choose freely but not copy or damage them."

Settling into a reading chamber, Xu Huo opted for browsing through the Collection of Information Terminal.

The key left by He Pu had a rough landmark, yet the vastness of Flower City makes narrowing down the range tricky; the only hint might be within the key itself.

It’s a fairly ornate Diamond Key, should unlock a fixed door, but given Flower City’s technological transformation, it couldn’t be a visible structure; if it’s something movable like a safe, finding it is almost impossible, so it must lie somewhere in between.

The timeframe isn’t too long, District 001 has developed rapidly in recent years; He Pu must have anticipated quick architectural updates, placing items somewhere unlikely to be altered or destroyed short-term. He marked several targets before arriving but still needs to check for more suitable places.

He Pu’s placement time is uncertain, so Xu Huo must review from at least twenty years back, starting with areas that haven’t seen major changes.

However, what Xu Huo didn’t anticipate was Flower City’s renovation schedule—with minor fixes every five years and major overhauls every ten—ensuring even residential areas get robotic inspections and repairs, with non-compliant materials replaced to keep the city "fresh." Anything unchanged in the past two decades would likely be in the jurisdiction.

Many players live in the jurisdiction, some families resided in Flower City for generations, maintaining old buildings in good condition, aligning with the Diamond Key’s design.

City architectural changes can be checked through videos of annual celebrations.

Though there are quite a few such targets.

Additionally, an unexpected find was Xu Huo’s previous target also being one of the buildings not frequently renovated.
