Kaidan Game Train: Abide Rule or Die! -
Chapter 1231 - 1232
Chapter 1231: Chapter 1232
(Wait for modification) The air barrier cannot be used temporarily. Xu Huo decisively placed Shelter 101 forward and then retracted it while simultaneously using "Extreme Fatigue" and "Progress Bar Disappearance" during the attack.
The player immediately felt the effects of the prop applied to their body. Pressing on their sleeve, the clothes they wore bristled like scales before smoothing out again. After the color of the outfit changed once and reverted to normal, no fatigue could be seen on their face!
Yan Jiayu and the Stone Lion joined the fray. The loafing Da Mao took a blow to the backside with a stick, instantly unleashing all its fury onto the pursued player. Under savage bites and attacks, the player was forced into retreat.
"Vase effect!" The pursued player threw a mat onto the ground. Da Mao, stumbling in its rush, stepped on the mat and one of its claws got fixed to the floor.
But that wasn’t of much use. The relentless Stone Lion dug a hole into the ground straight away. Unable to free itself from the mat, it simply carried part of the floor with it.
While Da Mao was difficult to handle, Xu Huo and Yan Jiayu were equally relentless. Yan Jiayu fought in close combat, while Xu Huo provided auxiliary support with props and occasionally launched surprise attacks. After three minutes of exchange, both sides sustained injuries.

Three players had driven the two Cannibal Players toward Xu Huo’s group. Upon meeting Xu Huo and his team, the three players hastily abandoned the Cannibal Players as though discarding a hot potato and fled without hesitation.
The Cannibal Players, now completely without reason, cared little about who was fighting whom—any living person in front of them became their target of attack. Without hesitation, they turned and charged toward Xu Huo’s team.
"Why are there suddenly so many Cannibal Players?" Mu Yan kept up and said, "We’re now in the latter part of the maze. They should have some cards in their possession. If we kill them, I fear our own cards will get replaced."
This was precisely why Xu Huo hadn’t killed anyone.
"Shake them off," Xu Huo said. He took a step and reached the end of the passage, pulling Mu Yan along in the process.
Behind them, the short-haired woman and her two companions became caught up. However, the player clad in black had a powerful movement prop that allowed them to dart past Xu Huo and Mu Yan, bringing their companions along and shouting back from afar, "We’ll go ahead first!"
The masked man following behind used a barrier prop to trap the three Cannibal Players before swiftly escaping down another passage.
"The maze layout has changed." After crossing through two additional passages, Mu Yan suddenly said, "Could it be our location has also shifted?"
The maze’s center was the endpoint. From any starting position, as long as the direction remained constant, one could eventually reach the center regardless of detours. The problem now was whether the maze’s reorganization had altered their relative positioning without them realizing it. If so, continuing in their original direction would make reaching the endpoint impossible.
Xu Huo had already sensed this possibility. However, as they progressed through more passages, not a single card appeared, nor were there any directional clues.
"We’re lost," Mu Yan said, studying the surrounding passages through the walls of mutated plants. After the maze reshuffled, even the walls lost their inherent patterns.
"Let’s stick to the original direction for now," Xu Huo said, quickening his pace. "The mutated plants haven’t been frequently updated, which isn’t entirely a bad thing. That suggests no one has touched this section of the maze walls recently, allowing the plants to stay consistent with their natural growth patterns. You should closely observe the plant behaviors and try to discern directions."
The maze provided copious clues in all directions, but without distinguishing north, south, east, and west, these clues still lacked significance. Now might be their best chance.
"I’ll do my best," Mu Yan replied solemnly.
With Xu Huo’s speed, he could pass through passages before the mutated plants had time to react. However, he purposefully paused intermittently to examine the maze walls, giving Mu Yan a brief chance to identify directional plants. If she failed to pinpoint them in time, they would immediately proceed down the next passage.
Within mere ten minutes, the two had traveled through nearly fifty surrounding passages.
Carried by Xu Huo, Mu Yan’s forehead glistened with sweat. Under extreme pressure, she even forgot to use props for defense at times. Just as her focus seemed about to drain entirely, she finally made a discovery.
"Wait!" she shouted near a corner.
Xu Huo stopped and released her. Mu Yan quickly sprinted three steps to a maze wall and used her communicator to photograph a particular purple-leafed plant. "This is a symbiotic plant. Its leaves curl up when stimulated. Since these leaves remain extended, no one has touched them yet. The tip of its leaves points east."
Mu Yan let out a breath and turned back to Xu Huo with a smile. "At least we’ve finally determined the maze’s direction."
Xu Huo handed her a handkerchief and said, "Wipe off your sweat."
"Thank you," Mu Yan said, accepting it before continuing, "But even though we know the direction, we still don’t know where the endpoint is. How do we proceed?"
"Acquire cards," Xu Huo replied. "Apart from your first card, you currently only have one Trap Card. You can hold up to five cards. Aside from Clue Cards and certain other specific kinds, random cards would suffice. We need your agreement for this plan."
Mu Yan had no objections. Her primary goal was to pass the game as quickly as possible without concerning herself about ratings.
"Are we still searching for clues on the maze walls?"
"Let’s focus on acquiring cards first," Xu Huo replied. "Clues on maze walls aren’t always trustworthy—information on playing cards tends to be more reliable."
It made little difference to Mu Yan, so they began searching for other players within the maze.
The process of taking cards was straightforward. Xu Huo subdued the players, and Mu Yan handled the collection. This way, all the obtained cards entered Mu Yan’s possession.
After some exchanges, Mu Yan’s deck ultimately consisted of one Trap Card, two Location Cards, one Cancellation Card, and one Draw Card. Together, they secured three valuable Clue Cards.
The three Clue Cards contained the following information:
Black Card 4: "Obtaining Flower Cards brings unexpected surprises."
White Card 11: "Sometimes a trap isn’t necessarily a trap."
Black Card 18: "Only one type of card can make the first card disappear."
"These three clues don’t seem very useful," Mu Yan said after contemplating for a moment.
Xu Huo paused before remarking, "Trap Cards, Location Cards, Clue Cards, Cancellation Cards, Draw Cards."
"We know about these five types of cards."
"Black Card 18 mentions that only a particular type can make the first card disappear; this implies there’s a sixth or even seventh type of card."
"You think there are seven types of cards?" Mu Yan asked. "Would that division be too specific?"
"If the number of cards in each category is equal, I’d lean toward even numbers of types. Based on the cards we’ve seen so far, black cards and white cards of the same number fall under the same category. Moreover, White Card 11 suggests that ’a trap isn’t necessarily a trap,’ which strongly indicates the existence of another type resembling Trap Cards but isn’t definitively one."
