During the conversation, the headquarters’ phone never stopped ringing. As soon as one call was ended, the assistant came over with another communication device.

This safe zone was outside of Jing City, but not on the maps distributed by the Special Defense Department; it also had the highest security level. Compared to some of the individuals later in the list, Nie Xuan gave only a vague address regarding their information.

This is the address of the safe zone; there is no method to get inside.

This wasn’t surprising, even before entering the game, some secret places would set up instruments for checks. Now that a large number of people in Zone 014 have started to become Players, the things brought back from the game would only be more advanced. Let alone sneaking in covertly, even approaching a bit closer might get identified by the instruments. After all, even with the help of a Prop or Super Evolution Power, one cannot vanish into thin air—there’s always a way to detect them.

Additionally, after witnessing the capabilities of Players, these places even sealed their grounds with metal.

Xu Huo hitched a ride with a Special Defense Department vehicle out of the city, disembarked near the destination, and directly used a Prop to move to just outside the secret safe zone.

Standing at a distance, the entrance to the secret safe zone is a tunnel, barricades set up outside it. Two hundred meters in is where the true entrance lies, but at this moment, the safe zone was far from tranquil, the overlapping chaos of human voices and engine roars, amidst urgent commands, armored vehicles burst out of the tunnel, speeding away!

Simultaneously, gunshots inside the tunnel moved outward, with the sound of bullets hitting metal growing more frequent. Shortly after, another armored vehicle recklessly emerged from the tunnel, making a sharp turn that flipped the last vehicle of the convoy!

A multitude of military personnel poured out of the tunnel, some to rescue, some to pursue. An intense armed chase ensued on the mountain roads, with Players darting in and out between the vehicles, trying to take down the armored vehicle driven by an unknown person stuck in the middle.

But evidently, the person inside was also a Player, as military Players tried and failed to destroy the vehicle using Props. They were instead held back by the Player in the vehicle employing their Characteristics, falling behind for a time.

"There were supposed to be nine people, now there are two missing!" A Player tracking from the air reported to the ground, but in the next second, was shot through the throat by an unseen bullet, his body heavily crashing in front of the convoy!

The person driving in front reflexively dodged the body, but almost flipped the vehicle due to the high speed. Thanks to sublime driving skills, the car barely steadied itself, only for the second car to fail to brake in time, crashing into it!

The two vehicles collided with the roadside rocks, both the middle and front of the cars deformed, unable to move any further.

However, this cleared the way for the cars behind, as the third vehicle didn’t pause before charging through, followed by the rest. Only a few Players and military personnel at the rear lingered for the rescue.

Aside from the driver and security personnel, the only ones rescued from the vehicle were three women and five children. Unfortunately, one of the women and two children died on the spot, and the others suffered varying degrees of injury.

No sooner had they lifted the people out for treatment than two military personnel silently fell to the ground beside them.

"There’s someone here!" The four remaining Players quickly went on alert, but the assailant’s aim was not to kill. With a loud "boom," a large amount of rocks rolled down from above.

"Run! Hurry!" The site of the crash bore the brunt of the impact; while rescuing the injured, the Players urged the others to run to the side. However, the Player causing the avalanche was not intending to let them go, killing one Player with the same tactic.

The child being held by that Player was passed to another Player’s arms—in choosing between rescue and self-preservation, these people chose the former.

The rumbling sound of rolling boulders was right beside them. The three Players hadn’t yet escaped the range of the rockslide when they felt a shadow looming overhead. They didn’t look up, instead quickening their pace!

Surrounding rocks crashed down, the dust and debris kicked up almost covering the entire route. Just when they were about to be buried by the boulders, the three Players and the military personnel suddenly found themselves instantly relocated a hundred meters away!

"What just happened?" They maintained their running posture, puzzled as to how they had suddenly escaped the rockslide.

"Someone must have helped!" The three Players stayed calm, promptly requesting that the group proceed on foot, not dwelling on how they survived.

Watching them run off into the distance, Xu Huo, who had landed in the forest, turned his head to look at the white-haired man twenty meters away.
