Chapter 585: Chapter 585: Bizarre Death Method

"You should look after yourself first! Don’t worry, they still need me, and as long as I play nice, they won’t hurt me!" Elisa didn’t want to involve Chen Wei, kindly urging him to leave quickly.

There was no need to give up his life over something like this.

If the Heavenly God of Protecting the Country from Great Xia were to die here, it would certainly cause a conflict between Great Xia and Gentleman Country, something Elisa wanted to avoid at all costs.

She knew full well how strong the Heavenly God of Protecting the Country was, but faced with such a dire situation, and unarmed at that, how could he possibly turn the tables?

How tough could fists be, how high could one’s martial skill be? Could it really be a match for bullets, long guns? Defeat one long gun, but could he defeat dozens?

Su Yumei was equally frightened by the display of force.

It didn’t take long for some people to take notice of Su Yumei.

Initially, since she was so fully clothed and by the seaside, nobody was interested.

But upon closer inspection, when they saw her face, they realized how stunning this woman was!

Used to seeing Western faces, they suddenly found that such an Eastern beauty was not bad either, quite refreshing!

They were eager to ’taste’ what she was like.

So someone suggested to the boss, "The way back is so boring, and we can’t lay hands on the princess, so why not bring that woman along for some amusement?"

"With so many of you, aren’t you afraid you’ll amuse her to death?" the boss remarked, somewhat speechless.

In the end, he agreed to his subordinate’s suggestion.

He couldn’t let them get too frustrated; if it affected their health and impeded their operation, the sword hanging over their heads could fall at any moment.

He was all too aware of how ruthless those people could be!

Once their usefulness was over, they would be eliminated without delay!

And why, knowing the risks, would they still act like thieves out of one den?

The reason was simple: high risk often comes with high reward!

The greater the risk, the greater the reward.

After receiving the boss’s permission, the man raised his gun, pointed it at Su Yumei, and motioned with the gun for her to come over to him.

If you can’t understand, you should at least be able to see, right?

"Wei, what should I do?" Su Yumei looked towards Chen Wei, the only person she could count on now.

Did she herself not know how much fighting power she had?

In the business arena, Su Yumei could turn the tide at will, but in a real battlefield, she was definitely among the easiest to kill.

"Senior sister, don’t worry, as long as I’m here, they won’t be able to touch a hair on your head," Chen Wei guaranteed.

Seeing his confident smile, Su Yumei’s hanging heart suddenly felt a lot calmer.

"Mhm," Su Yumei nodded, agreeing.

"Kid! Don’t spout nonsense! This is none of your business, if you don’t want to die, then get lost!" the man directed the gun muzzle at Chen Wei and shouted loudly.

"Isn’t it you who want to die?" Chen Wei retorted.

Hearing him say this, Elisa suddenly widened her beautiful eyes, turning to look at him, thinking that Chen Wei must have gone mad.

How dare he provoke them in such a situation?

That was a group of heavily armed bandits!

The bandits, upon hearing the words, were first stunned, then one by one burst into laughter, mocking Chen Wei for being a fool, an idiot, blindly confident... they said all kinds of things.

"Boss, I think this kid won’t cry until he sees the coffin. We might as well just finish him off now!"

Hearing this, the boss nodded, unwilling to waste more time.

Upon hearing this, the subordinate aimed directly and locked onto Chen Wei.

Bang!

A gunshot sounded, triggering the gun.

However, the bullet didn’t hit its mark as expected, and didn’t blow Chen Wei’s head off.

"Hey! What happened to you?"

Looking in the direction of the sound, it was instead one of their own who had been shot in the heart and fell down on the spot.

"How, how could this happen?" the man said, bewildered.

His marksmanship couldn’t be that bad, could it?

Besides, the angle between the bullet’s point of impact and the barrel of the gun was almost ninety degrees, wasn’t it?

There must be a problem! There had to be!

The man, refusing to be superstitious, raised his gun to aim at Chen Wei again and pulled the trigger.

Bang!

"What? Hey! Jess!"

The result was the same; Chen Wei stood his ground, calm and composed.

Another member of his own group lay dead.

And the only one who had shot was the man...

The more he thought about it, the more terrifying it seemed.

"Boss, this, this kid must know magic!" the man took a half step back, lowering his hands, not daring to shoot again.

"Nonsense! Give me the gun!" The boss snatched the rifle from the man, pushed him away with his other hand, stumbled backward, lost his balance, and fell to the ground.

As the boss, the more tense the situation, the less he could afford to panic and lose his composure; it would only turn everyone into a disorganized mess.

He simply refused to believe in this evil energy today. He raised his gun, aimed at Chen Wei, ready to pull the trigger.

But the gunshot never came.

"Boss?" Someone sensed something was wrong. Why had the man suddenly frozen, as if turned to stone, not even blinking?

They waved a hand in front of his face, but there was no reaction.

"Boss, you’re not..." As soon as they reached out to touch him, the person immediately fell backwards, rigidly tumbling to the ground.

"Boss!"

"Boss!"

Several people rushed forward, but no matter how much they called out, there was no response.

Someone reached out a hand, bringing it close to the nose.

"Hiss!" They took a sharp breath in as if touched by electricity, their lips quivering, their voice trembling, "The boss is dead, dead!"

"Dead? How is that possible?"

"You must be lying, move aside, let me see!" The man, refusing to believe it, kneeled beside the boss, bent over, opened the boss’s shirt, and pressed his ear to his left chest.

It was silent! As silent as death! No heartbeat could be heard!

He slowly sat up, and even though he said nothing, his expression told everyone what they needed to know.

The boss was dead? How did he die?

A myriad of questions lingered in everyone’s minds.

"..." Elisa watched as members of the kidnappers, one after another, died mysterious deaths, including the sudden, unexplainable demise of the gang leader.

She started to wonder, could it be haunted?

Her gaze shifted to Chen Wei, thinking to herself: Or could he really perform magic?

If it wasn’t magic, how else could such things be possible?

Killing without a trace!

Elisa was standing right next to Chen Wei, so close that a slight movement would be enough to fall into his arms.

From beginning to end, she hadn’t seen him lift a finger.

"It must be him! He must be the one behind this! Let’s all go at him together; I refuse to believe that he can deal with so many of us on his own!" The tone of the voice conveyed something close to breakdown, hysterical.

After witnessing this series of eerie events, nobody dared to be negligent; they all turned their guns, loaded their bullets, disregarding Su Yumei, disregarding Elisa, aiming directly at Chen Wei!

There was a strong resolve in their hearts.

If this person did not die, then the next to die would be them!
