Chapter 489: Chapter 489 Liu Meng: You Copied Me First!

"Chairman Chen! I know I was wrong, I really do! Please, give me another chance, I beg you!"

He Hongliang knelt down in front of Chen Wei, grabbed his legs, and turned from arrogant to utterly servile in a heartbeat, a stark contrast of extremes.

"Forget it. If you knew this day would come, why did you do it in the first place?" Chen Wei shook off He Hongliang’s grip on his ankle and stepped back half a step.

He saw several security officers already hurrying over to them.

Bang bang bang!

He Hongliang’s heart raced to breaking point in an instant.

"Chairman Chen, as the saying goes, ’Leave a line, and you’ll meet again with smiles’. Why push things to the bitter end? Another enemy is not as good as another friend! I can bring you many benefits!"

He Hongliang still wanted to try his luck, to move and convince Chen Wei, emphasizing his own value and how much he could bring to Chen Wei.

"Meet again with smiles?" When Chen Wei heard He Hongliang’s words, he found it the biggest joke he had heard all day. "Are you sure we will meet again?"

"What do you mean by that?" He Hongliang failed to understand.

"Do you think, with all those crimes and vile deeds, once you’re taken to Judgment Court, you’ll survive to see me again?"

"..." Chen Wei’s words were a wake-up call to He Hongliang.

Indeed, when he thought about it carefully, just the human life case was enough to sentence him to death, to face the firing squad.

Where then is the chance for leaving room, for a future encounter?

Clenching his teeth, He Hongliang’s expression was no longer servile, instead there was a hint of resoluteness in his eyes.

Slowly, he raised his hand, gripping the pen at his chest.

Pulling it out, he removed the cap furiously, stood up, and with a sharp pen tip lunged toward Chen Wei, "Fine! If you won’t let me live, then you will die with me!"

At this moment, He Hongliang’s thought was nothing but simple—if he was to die, he was going to drag Chen Wei down with him!

Worried?

Not only was Liu Meng not worried, but Liang Xiaoqi wasn’t worried either.

After all, they both knew very well how formidable Chen Wei was.

With He Hongliang’s meager skills, trying to take on Chen Wei was sheer fantasy, an impossibility.

"How can this be!" He Hongliang showed a look of astonishment.

As expected, Chen Wei effortlessly grabbed the wrist of He Hongliang’s pen-holding hand, not allowing him a chance to break free, and with just a bit of force,

there was a snap as it was easily broken.

Bang!

Boom!

Then, with a kick, Chen Wei sent him flying seven or eight meters away, landing right in front of the approaching security officers.

"Now you can also charge him with another crime, intentional assault." Chen Wei told the security officers.

"Ah, right! Okay, I understand." The security officers knew of Chen Wei and had seen him before, familiar with Tang Qing from the security station.

They indeed saw He Hongliang trying to stab Chen Wei with the pen.

And so, He Hongliang was taken away, his face the picture of despair, indistinguishable from a walking corpse, silent, with no response, not even struggling.

For him, all of this was just too dramatic.

He could never have dreamt that he would end up with such a fate.

"Wei, thank you for taking care of such a big problem for me." After all, it was in front of Liu Meng, so Liang Xiaoqi was too embarrassed to talk about love and affection outright.

Seeing her so restrained, Chen Wei actually found it a bit uncomfortable, no longer feeling the aversion he did before.

Is this really the power of an idol?

"Nothing much, I just plainly find him annoying," Chen Wei responded.

"Xiaoqi, are you free later? Do you want to join us for lunch?" Liu Meng extended an invitation to Liang Xiaoqi.

"Can I really join?" Liang Xiaoqi was surprised.

"..." Chen Wei had words at the tip of his tongue, but he swallowed them back down.

"Of course, there’s nothing wrong with that. I’d also like to have a good chat with you about the script," Liu Meng nodded her head.

"Great! I’ll go!" Liang Xiaoqi didn’t hesitate any longer and agreed outright.

"All right then, we’ll come find you in two hours. I’m going to take this kid around first," Liu Meng said as she grabbed Chen Wei by his clothes and led him away.

"Okay! Have fun, you two," Liang Xiaoqi called after them as she watched them leave.

And then she continued back to the filming.

"Senior Sister, you did that on purpose, right?" Once they were far enough away, Chen Wei got straight to the point.

"What are you talking about? I don’t understand what you’re saying at all," Liu Meng said, but the mischievous expression on her face told Chen Wei that she didn’t really think that way at all.

Seeing that Chen Wei was silent, eyes fixed on her.

Liu Meng stretched out her hand and gently pushed against Chen Wei’s chest with her fingers, giving him a reproachful look, "You scared me."

Then she continued, "Didn’t I just tell you the reason? I simply want to talk to her about the script for my next film."

"Really? Then look into my eyes and tell me that!" Chen Wei suddenly extended his hands, grabbed Liu Meng’s shoulders, turned her body towards him, and looked her straight in the eyes.

Liu Meng immediately showed a guilty expression and looked away, "Alright, alright, I admit it, there’s a little ulterior motive, maybe 10%? What can I do? I always felt it would be interesting to put you two together, to see a side of you that can’t usually be seen."

"You have quite the morbid sense of humor," Chen Wei let go of her, his eyes conveying only two words, speechless.

"What’s the big deal? It’s not like you’re losing a piece of flesh. And besides, that girl’s so pretty, don’t you feel a little bit moved?"

"There are plenty of women who move me, but am I supposed to take them all home?" Chen Wei retorted.

Not giving Liu Meng a chance to speak, Chen Wei, in a teasing manner, said to her, "I’m quite moved by you too, Senior Sister. Does that mean I could also make a move and take you home?"

"..." Upon hearing this, Liu Meng froze on the spot, looking utterly bewildered.

Her eyes even forgot to blink, and at this rate, Chen Wei actually started to worry that she might forget to breathe and literally suffocate herself.

"Senior..." Chen Wei began, concerned.

"Don’t talk!" Liu Meng lifted her hand, aiming to cover Chen Wei’s mouth.

At the same time, she turned to the side, hand on her forehead, and with an incredulous tone, she said, "I can’t believe you feel this way about me, and I never noticed. It seems I’ve really been derelict in my duties as a senior sister."

"Wei, no matter what, I am your senior sister. Isn’t this love a bit twisted?"

Liu Meng looked at Chen Wei, lips tightly pursed, her expression incredibly complex.

Then she lifted her hand again, turned away, hand on her forehead once more, and interrupted what Chen Wei was about to say.

"Blame me, blame me for being too exceptional, for being born too charming, that even you can’t resist. Blame me, it’s all my fault. Don’t carry too much psychological burden, I’m willing to overcome this with you... wuwuwu!"

Pushing Chen Wei’s hand away, Liu Meng rolled her eyes and said, "What are you doing!"

"Stop acting, it’s making me feel sick," Chen Wei said, even pretending to gag.

"You started acting first!"
