Chapter 346: Chapter 346: Not Going Home Sober Tonight

Not long after Luo Wudi, Luo Yaowu, and Luo Wencai, the father and his two sons, had left, nearly everyone at the scene had departed, including Zhao Furui and his group.

Chen Wei had them carry two hundred million in cash and return to Jinshan the same way they came, with a tip of one hundred thousand per person, so that if he needed their services again, they would be even more willing to bend over backward for him with fewer complaints.

To Chen Wei, one hundred thousand was trivial, but if it could buy him goodwill, it was a worthwhile and valuable investment.

"Didn’t expect even a figure like Luo Wudi wouldn’t be able to do anything to you. You really are something," Qi Yulu approached Chen Wei, her expression full of surprise.

"You..." Not having had the chance to take a good look earlier, it was now, upon having the chance, that Chen Wei recognized Qi Yulu.

"Why are you dressed like this?" he asked, puzzled.

"It’s just a personal interest, nothing peculiar, right? If people knew I liked coming to places like this, rumors would inevitably start flying by the next day," Qi Yulu explained.

"I see," Chen Wei answered noncommittally and turned to leave to find Su Yumei.

Smack!

"Hey! Where are you going?" Qi Yulu caught hold of his wrist.

"Do I need to report my whereabouts to you?" Chen Wei asked with a smile.

"Of course not, but since we’ve serendipitously met, you don’t have to leave in such a hurry, do you?" Qi Yulu said, not wanting to make her point too openly.

"..." After thinking it through, Chen Wei realized that going to the private room now would only disturb Su Yumei’s rest, so it might be better to let her rest a bit longer by herself.

With that thought, Chen Wei sat back down in his chair.

The bar resumed normal operations. After a quick cleanup and replacing the broken tables, it was as if nothing had happened.

Even among the patrons who knew what had transpired earlier, seeing Chen Wei unharmed and still sitting there drinking with a foreign beauty, they dared not speak up.

Offending the Luo Family was one thing, but to mess with someone even Luo Wudi personally couldn’t handle was something they were best avoiding.

None of them believed they were stronger than Luo Wudi.

"..." Chen Wei was focused entirely on drinking, not uttering a word, which made Qi Yulu feel awkward.

Since she wasn’t used to initiating conversations with the opposite sex,

she never imagined she’d one day be flustered over not knowing what to say to a man.

Why feel flustered?

The reason was simple: Qi Yulu worried that if Chen Wei got too bored, he might get up and leave again.

She didn’t know what to say to keep him there and felt conflicted about it, but there was nothing else she could do.

"Aren’t you drinking?" Chen Wei asked Qi Yulu. It would seem a bit rude not to ask since he had been drinking by himself.

Qi Yulu bit back her words. Normally, when she visited places like this, she would only drink a couple before leaving to avoid getting too intoxicated, making her vulnerable to being taken advantage of or worse.

The cocktail called Blue Sky that she had ordered earlier didn’t contain any alcohol and was just a regular beverage.

Qi Yulu was quite protective of herself.

"Drink!" But in Chen Wei’s company, Qi Yulu impulsively decided to have a drink.

Thinking that since she didn’t know what to say, she might as well let the liquor do the talking.

"What will you drink? It’s on me," Chen Wei offered.

"Hmm..." Qi Yulu thought for a moment, then her gaze fell on the half-full glass in Chen Wei’s hand and she said, "I’ll have what you’re having."

"Are you sure? This drink is quite strong; it’s too much for most people," Chen Wei warned kindly.

"I’m not afraid, I can hold my liquor very well!" Qi Yulu declared, patting her chest with full confidence.

"Bring her a drink," Chen Wei no longer insisted, turning his gaze to the bartender.

"Of course," the bartender replied with a tinge of fear, nodding in agreement.

He simply stopped mixing the drink he was halfway through and instead started to make a drink for Chen Wei, or more precisely, for Qi Yulu who was with Chen Wei.

The other customer dared not express his anger, for he too was one of the witnesses.

He thought waiting a few more minutes to drink wasn’t a big deal, certainly better than getting a thorough beating.

Unbeknownst to Chen Wei, he had become the secret boss of this bar.

After realizing this, all he could do was wryly smile to himself.

This was actually quite good, at least nobody would come looking for trouble with him.

"Miss, here’s your drink, please enjoy," the bartender said after finishing, sliding the glass over to Qi Yulu.

Only then did he continue to mix the drink for the customer from before.

"This drink looks so beautiful under the lights, do you know its name?" Qi Yulu asked.

"Hmm... some people call it Amber, others Yellow Gemstone. There are many names, but if you want to order it, just say either of those two and most bars will understand," Chen Wei explained.

"Amber, Yellow Gemstone? It does indeed look like it. Let’s see how it tastes," Qi Yulu said as she prepared to take a taste.

Seeing Qi Yulu pick up the glass, ready to take a hefty gulp,

Chen Wei wanted to caution her but it was too late.

The result was surprisingly impressive; this woman could hold her liquor! She downed two-thirds of the strong drink in one go and bellowed out the word "refreshing" like one of the guys.

Qi Yulu was beginning to interest Chen Wei, at least not leaving as poor an impression as when they first met.

"Why aren’t you drinking? Don’t tell me you’re already drunk?"

Seeing Qi Yulu’s challenging smirk, Chen Wei responded, "Drunk? That word has never appeared in the dictionary of my life."

"Oh! Is that so? What if I get you drunk today?" Qi Yulu, intrigued by his response, decided to take him down a peg or two.

"Have your way with me, how’s that?" Chen Wei countered.

"Deal!" Qi Yulu agreed immediately.

Then she turned her gaze to the bartender and said, "Thirty of these drinks, fifteen for him and fifteen for me."

The drink was strong, and the bartender worried they might get into trouble by consuming too much, so he hesitated to comply until he saw Chen Wei nod, and then reluctantly proceeded.

Soon, thirty Yellow Gemstones were laid on the table, with fifteen in front of each, Chen Wei and Qi Yulu.

"Do you need me to have them prepare a bucket for you in advance? It would be unfortunate if you ended up vomiting on the floor."

Chen Wei had a feeling that Qi Yulu was already getting tipsy.

Is this really okay?

"Not necessary, though you can have them prepare one for you if you need it," Chen Wei shook his head in refusal.

"Don’t underestimate me. Come on! Let’s start drinking!" Qi Yulu picked up a glass first.

Chen Wei swiftly followed suit.

Clang.

The glasses clinked together, a clear sound ringing out as they both tilted back their heads and emptied their drinks in one gulp.

Seeing Chen Wei drink so effortlessly and even beating her to the finish, Qi Yulu’s competitive spirit flared up, as if she wanted to redeem her earlier embarrassment with him, raising her glass and exclaiming, "Another! Tonight we don’t go home until we’re drunk!"
