Chapter 335: Chapter 335: Taking Credit

Hearing Chen Wei say that he was a tiny bit better than himself, Su Yong’an’s anger surged immediately.

He was very clear that Chen Wei had said a "billion," not just one; even a tiny bit would have been enough to ignite Su Yong’an, the powder keg, let alone a billion. He had no respect for Chen Wei at all.

"How shamelessly boastful, you think you’re better than me? on what grounds do you believe you are superior? I am a top-level doctor, and what are you?" At this point, Su Yong’an no longer cared about appearances, rebuking Chen Wei was what mattered most.

Su Yong’an would never allow anyone to believe such ridiculous, ignorant statements.

"If that’s the case, then be my guest," Chen Wei made a welcoming gesture.

"You think I can’t do it?" Su Yong’an was extremely confident in himself, thinking that it was just the tension that had led to a poor judgment earlier, and now that he had calmed down, he would definitely turn the situation around.

Seeing a bodyguard step forward to block his way, Su Yong’an, with full confidence, placed his hand on his chest, "I can definitely cure his illness. Please give me another chance. I’m the hospital’s top-level doctor. He’s just some loafer living off his looks. You’d rather risk your lives with him than trust me?"

The bodyguard did not hurry to answer Su Yong’an but looked at Chen Wei and asked, "What kind of doctor are you?"

"I’m not a doctor. I just know some medical techniques," Chen Wei admitted truthfully.

"..." The bodyguard fell silent.

A few seconds later, the bodyguard’s gaze returned to Su Yong’an, "If you can’t cure him, you’ll pay with your life!"

Pay with your life!

Hearing these two words, Su Yong’an’s heart skipped a beat.

No problem! I can do this! How could I not cure such a minor illness? I’m one of Imperial Capital’s top ten outstanding youths for three consecutive sessions, and the youngest top-level doctor in the hospital!

After a bout of self-pride, Su Yong’an nodded vigorously and agreed, "No problem!"

Hearing this, the bodyguard stepped aside to allow Su Yong’an to approach the man.

At that moment, the man was in a semi-comatose state, completely unaware and unfocused on who was approaching him. He just wanted to suppress this throbbing headache as quickly as possible.

Su Yong’an first administered a painkiller injection to the man, deciding to continue with the previous methods for treatment. This time, he was even more careful in controlling the needlework’s force and depth.

Everything seemed to be moving in a positive direction.

Just as Su Yong’an thought this, in the very next second, the man’s eyes rolled back, his body stiffened, and he collapsed backward onto the floor, limbs contorted, shaking violently, foam spitting from his mouth...

He looked just like he was about to die!

"What, how could this happen! It shouldn’t be!" Su Yong’an, holding the Silver Needle, completely panicked, feeling helpless.

"You damn fool, what have you done!" The bodyguard immediately became anxious, without saying much, he kicked Su Yong’an four or five meters away, slamming him hard against the bookcase.

Glass shattered at the impact, falling down and hitting Su Yong’an, with some shards piercing into his body at just the right angle, causing him so much pain that he grimaced unpleasantly.

"Ah." Chen Wei walked over to the man’s side, looking at his pitiful state, he sighed, "In the end, it looks like I have to take action. What good is a top-level doctor? No matter how impressive the title if you can’t cure the illness, what’s the use?"

Chen Wei crouched down, reached for the man’s head, quickly pulled out a few Silver Needles, and changed their positions.

Seconds after doing this, the man’s limbs returned to normal, no longer foaming at the mouth or convulsing, and his eyes which had rolled back, gradually returned to their original positions.

This scene was witnessed by the bodyguard, who, although not saying anything, had his admiration for Chen Wei clearly etched on his face.

Indeed, true experts usually don’t show off! Totally different from those like Su Yong’an who are arrogant and full of empty talk.

"What happened to me?" the man asked, supporting his head and getting up from the ground.

When the bodyguard saw this, he quickly went to help him up.

"It was me! It was me who cured your illness!" To everyone’s surprise, before Chen Wei could even speak, Su Yong’an was the first to jump out, claiming all the credit for himself.

"You saved him? Weren’t you the one who nearly killed him?" Even Su Yumei couldn’t stand it anymore, stepping forward to reveal the truth.

"How could that be? I am a top-level doctor. I was just about to apply the needles in that manner. He merely beat me to it. He might understand a bit of medicine, but that’s only because I had almost cured the illness already." Su Yong’an perfectly exemplified the saying that there’s no invincibility like shamelessness.

When lying, his face was neither red nor his heart pounding, enough to make anyone unaware of the truth possibly believe his tall tales.

"Is that so?" the man asked his bodyguard.

"Just now, sir, you were close to death. It was thanks to that gentleman over there that you were pulled back from Ghost Gate Pass." The bodyguard’s gaze shifted to Chen Wei as he stated the facts.

"You must have made a deal with him behind my back. How could you give the credit that belongs to me to someone else?" Su Yong’an said angrily.

At this moment, the man chose to approach Chen Wei to confirm, "Young man, what do you say?"

"If he says it was him, then let it be him," Chen Wei said nonchalantly.

"Ha, look, he’s feeling guilty." Su Yong’an sneered with disdain, his heart swelling with joy. Chen Wei actually didn’t refute, wasn’t this pushing the credit towards him voluntarily?

Such a fool!

Having not succeeded with Su Yumei, but snagging some credit from Chen Wei’s hands, Su Yong’an saw it as a win-win situation.

He estimated that Chen Wei must be close to depression by now.

"Sister, let’s go," Chen Wei beckoned.

Su Yumei got up and walked over.

The two of them left the office together.

"Wei, it was clearly you who cured that person, why didn’t you argue?" Even though it didn’t happen to her, Su Yumei felt very angry.

"The facts speak louder than words. Sister, don’t worry, I have everything in hand," Chen Wei said with a slight smile, reassuring Su Yumei not to worry.

Meanwhile, back in the office.

"You saved my life, and I certainly won’t let you down, but shouldn’t you first remove these things from my head?" the man glanced upward.

What’s the deal with having a head full of Silver Needles?

Going out like that, he might become a laughingstock.

"Sure, I’ll remove the needles for you now. Please, have a seat," Su Yong’an pulled over a small round stool, gesturing for the man to sit down.

The man was at least one meter eight, while Su Yong’an was only about one meter sixty. It would be more convenient to do this while sitting.

As a top-level doctor, would it be dignified to stand on tiptoe to remove needles?

If someone were to see, his reputation would undoubtedly take a nosedive, becoming a joke amongst his peers.

"Alright," the man complied, sitting on the stool.

Su Yong’an casually grasped a Silver Needle, without thinking, he yanked it out.

One by one.

But when he pulled out the third needle, something unexpected happened!
