Chapter 332: Chapter 332: Infertility Cured!

"At death’s door? Damn! Is all this fuss really necessary? Can the wealthy really obscure the sky with one hand now? Even you, the White Tiger Army, have to follow orders and act as enforcers?" Zhao Qingdong truly hadn’t expected reality to be this outrageous.

Seeing the fully armed and live-ammunition-ready stance of the White Tiger Army, he couldn’t help but be sensitive to the word ’death’, whether he wanted to or not.

Although Zhao Qingdong always liked to stress that he had put life and death aside, declaring ’if you can’t beat them, join them’, the truth was that when faced with imminent death, he was scared out of his wits.

Before, when no one could threaten his life, Zhao Qingdong could afford to claim fearlessness of death, but now that there was a threat, could the situation be the same?

"Money?" The young officer sneered. "That’s why you’re at death’s door and still clueless. Offending Miss Su wouldn’t necessarily provoke us, the White Tiger Army, to take action personally, but, the Miss Su you’ve offended is that person’s senior sister!"

"That person? What person?" Zhao Qingdong hurriedly asked.

"You’re not worthy of knowing that person’s identity. You only need to know that even the White Tiger War God would have to bow down before him!"

With a single sentence, the young officer had scared Zhao Qingdong out of his wits.

"That person’s senior sister..." The man murmured to himself as he heard this.

On reflection, the young man beside Su Yumei just then seemed to be calling her his senior sister!

That person! Even the White Tiger War God has to bow before him?

At this moment, the man remembered that Su Yumei had mentioned earlier that she already had the best bodyguard in the world by her side...

The more he thought about it, the colder his spine seemed to get, leaving him trembling with fear.

His gaze returned to Chen Wei and Su Yumei’s side.

At this moment, they had arrived at the hospital.

Su Yumei rushed over with Chen Wei as soon as she heard that Su Yan and Jiang Wanzhi were scheduled to have a comprehensive checkup today to see if there were any signs of improvement in the illness that prevented them from conceiving.

She too wanted to know if she would have the chance to hold a brother or sister.

Of course, Su Yumei had absolute trust in Chen Wei’s medical skills, but that didn’t stop her from coming in person to confirm.

After meeting with Su Yan, Su Yumei’s first question was, "How is it? Dad, are the results out? Where is Mom?"

"We don’t know yet; your mom is still inside getting examined. I think the results will be out soon." Su Yan’s fingers were clenched so tightly into a fist that it left bruised marks on the back of his hands.

"Dad, don’t worry. Trust Wei; his medical skills are the best in the world!" Su Yumei said this with even more confidence than Chen Wei himself.

Time ticked by, second by second.

Soon, the operating room door opened, and Jiang Wanzhi came out.

"How did it go?" Su Yan supported her.

Jiang Wanzhi extended her arms, hugging Su Yan, burying her face deep into his chest, her sobs audible.

A failure?

Chen Wei thought to himself that it couldn’t be possible—such a minor ailment was a simple matter for him to cure with a few flicks of the needle. By his calculations, there shouldn’t even be a 0.0001% chance of failure.

So why was Jiang Wanzhi crying?

"Ah..." Su Yan had to admit that Chen Wei was very capable, but some things couldn’t be forced. He had long made peace with this and hugged Jiang Wanzhi, comforting her, "Wanzhi, don’t be sad, and don’t worry. We already have such a wonderful daughter in Yumei. Even if you can’t conceive in the future, I will still love you and cherish you for a lifetime."

"Fool, what are you talking about? I’m fine! The doctor said that my condition would only get better and better, and it wouldn’t be long before I could return to normal. Then we can start planning for a baby," Jiang Wanzhi lifted herself up.

"Fine? Then why are you crying?" Su Yan worried if Jiang Wanzhi was just saying this out of concern, wanting to comfort him.

"Don’t you know there’s a saying, ’Cry from extreme happiness’?" Jiang Wanzhi glared at him with reproach.

"I understand! I understand! This is really too great, I love you to death! Once you’re well, we’ll have a baby immediately!"

"The kids are still watching, keep it down," Jiang Wanzhi noticed Su Yumei and Chen Wei’s gazes and said with a blushing face.

"Mom, congratulations, I wish you a speedy recovery, and hope you can give me a chubby little brother, or sister, or even twins! I can afford it," Su Yumei spoke up.

Seeing her make such a solemn vow, Jiang Wanzhi playfully chided her and did not say much else.

"Chen, I really can’t thank you enough this time. If it weren’t for you, we really wouldn’t know what to do," Jiang Wanzhi extricated herself from Su Yan’s arms, came up to Chen Wei, took his hands, and her eyes were filled with gratitude.

"Yumei always takes such good care of me, and you are her parents. I merely did what I could within my power," Chen Wei responded.

"Chen, sometimes I really feel you’re too humble. With all the skills you have, you deserve to be proud!" Su Yan’s appreciation for Chen Wei grew even more.

Having such a son-in-law truly felt like a blessing from a past life!

"Is that so? Then I’ve got to find a good time in the future to be properly proud," Chen Wei joked, instantly lightening the mood and making it merry.

Afterward, Su Yan and Jiang Wanzhi had planned to treat Chen Wei to a meal as a thank you, but they learned from Su Yumei that they had just eaten and came over, so they had no choice but to go home first.

Jiang Wanzhi decided to cook dinner herself tonight to properly thank Chen Wei; regardless of her cooking skills, at least her heartfelt gratitude would be conveyed.

Chen Wei and Su Yumei did not leave together.

Since she was already there, Su Yumei thought, and this was the best hospital in the Imperial Capital after all, why not have Chen Wei undergo a full body check-up to see if anything was amiss.

Chen Wei tried to convince Su Yumei that such a thing was a waste of time and completely unnecessary.

In the end, she was silenced by Su Yumei’s retort about "Physician, heal thyself."

Having no choice and to put Su Yumei’s mind at ease, Chen Wei agreed to go through a few routine checks.

Doing them all would take too much time.

And so, Su Yumei personally accompanied Chen Wei, running up and down floors, getting all the routine checks done in nearly four hours.

The results showed that not only was Chen Wei’s health normal, but it was the perfect embodiment of human health!

Even the doctors who performed the check-up were stunned; they had never seen such an exceptionally fit body, utterly devoid of any issues.

"Senpai, now do you believe that I wasn’t deceiving you? It really wasn’t necessary," Chen Wei said with a wry smile.

"Spending time and money for peace of mind, how nice." Su Yumei had always been concerned that Chen Wei’s frequent execution of dangerous missions outside, combined with three years of living as a son-in-law, would take a heavy toll on his body. Now, it looked like she had worried too much.

"Well, since there’s nothing wrong, let’s head back. I really don’t like the smell of disinfectant in the hospital," Chen Wei said.

"Mhm."

Just as Su Yumei finished speaking, a surprised and unexpected voice came from beside her, "Su Yumei? Is it really you,
