Chapter 258: Chapter 258: Elites?

The Holy Maiden was about to respond to that person, but hearing Chen Wei’s voice, she obediently shut her mouth, "Since that’s the case, do you dare to come up on the stage and have a match with me?"

As soon as Chen Wei spoke, it immediately drew endless laughter from the Falcon Team.

"Hahaha, he’s just a small soldier, yet he dares to challenge our boss, really have no idea who gave you the courage."

"Kid, don’t blame me for not warning you beforehand, my boss has been the silver medallist sharpshooter for three consecutive White-Headed Eagle Army competitions."

"Forgive my bluntness, but you really don’t qualify to compete with our captain. If you don’t want to get hurt, you’d better behave like a turtle, tucking your head behind that woman."

"So presumptuous, do you think you can challenge Captain Layard, you ant?"

As they were speaking, Layard suddenly stepped forward, beginning to display his gentleman-like demeanor, "Since he wants to fight, then let’s give him a chance to fight. Haven’t I always told you, to lose, you have to make the opponent lose convincingly?"

"Truly worthy of our captain, holding the demeanor just perfectly."

"Ah, when will people from Great Xia understand this stuff."

"Talking so much with a bunch of underdeveloped yellow-skinned monkeys is just...ugh!" The man was mid-sentence when he suddenly felt a strong choking sensation in his throat, and his feet involuntarily lifted off the ground.

Half a second later everyone reacted, the man was held up by Chen Wei, who had grabbed him by the neck with one hand.

The strength in his fingers was immense, especially the thumb, which had already pierced half way into the man’s flesh. With just a bit more force, he could puncture the windpipe!

"This is Great Xia, since when is it your turn to be so arrogant?" Chen Wei asked with cold eyes.

"What do you think you’re doing!" Layard thought of intervening, but with the life of his teammate in Chen Wei’s grasp, he didn’t dare act rashly.

Dead men are a small matter, losing face is a big one. He promising his instructor that he’d bring the entire team back to Hawk Faction safe and sound, triumphantly, to let everyone know the name, the terror, of Falcon!

"As a captain, you can’t even control your own subordinate’s mouth, I really don’t understand what you’re puffing yourself up for?" Chen Wei said while his other fingers began to exert force, fingertips slowly burrowing into the flesh.

"For his previous disrespect, I apologize to you on his behalf. I am sorry!" Unable to do anything else, Layard had to compromise. He was well aware that if he continued to talk tough, the man really could lose his life.

Hearing this, Chen Wei released his hand.

The man fell to the ground.

The first thing he did as he recovered was to raise his fist, wanting to punch Chen Wei to vent his anger!

Bang!

Boom!

But he was instead kicked seven or eight meters away by Chen Wei, slammed against a punching bag, coughing out mouthfuls of thick blood.

Chen Wei stretched his hand toward Layard, wiping the fresh blood from his fingertips on his chest, and warned him, "Control your people."

Seeing their captain humiliated like this, the Falcon Team was naturally discontented and burning with anger, wanting to launch a collective attack on Chen Wei, but they were stopped by a hand gesture from Layard.

It wasn’t Chen Wei he feared, but rather doing something excessive that might provoke the South-Guarding King, who had barely spoken throughout the ordeal.

Even if he was confident he could match the South-Guarding King, this was still his territory. Should he injure him, a single command could have the entirety of the Special Warfare Zone mobilized against Falcon Team, and leaving then would be difficult, as tough as scaling the heavens!

"Get up on the stage, don’t waste time." Chen Wei wiped his hand clean and withdrew it, walking up the Martial Combat Stage along the stairs.

"Boss, that kid is just too arrogant. You must make sure to teach him a lesson."

"Yeah, boss, I’ve seen arrogant, but I’ve never seen anyone as arrogant as him. Who does he think he is?"

"It’s a shame the boss has decided to compete against him; otherwise, I really wanted to personally go up there and teach him a lesson."

"Don’t worry, I will take care of everything you’ve mentioned. Falcon Team shall not be insulted!" Layard gritted his teeth and responded before climbing onto the stage.

Since the reorganization of the Falcon Team, they had never suffered such humiliation. Layard could not allow his team to lose the face of all Falcon!

This man, Chen Wei, must be taught a lesson, and incidentally show the South-Guarding King that his chosen one was nothing more than trash in front of the Hawk Faction’s true elite!

"I guess you must really hate me now for what I did earlier, right? How about we don’t talk about things like pulling punches or friendly exchanges and just fight to the death!"

"Don’t worry, if you really can kill me, I guarantee that person won’t hold you responsible," said Chen Wei, glancing at Sky Wolf standing below the stage.

Sensing Layard’s gaze following his, Sky Wolf said nothing. In this world, he’d never seen anyone who could defeat Chen Wei. He wanted to see it, but for sure, Layard didn’t have the qualifications.

"Are you sure?" Layard thought Chen Wei was joking with him.

"I’m very sure," Chen Wei nodded emphatically.

"Fine, if you want to die that badly, I’ll oblige you." Layard was seeing someone like Chen Wei for the first time, rushing to their death.

One might think that Grim Reaper was some top-notch beauty and he was eager to throw himself into her arms.

"So, you agree? What if you die by my hand?" Chen Wei asked in advance.

"Then it would only mean that I’m not as skilled as you. I can’t blame you, nor can I blame Great Xia."

"Good, remember, those were your own words."

"..." The smile on Chen Wei’s face gave Layard a bad feeling.

"Let’s begin."

"Begin!" Layard barely finished his words when he closed in on Chen Wei.

Admiration and concern came from below the stage.

"Worthy of being the boss, that speed, no matter how many times you see it, always feels astonishing."

"Such quickness, completely on another level compared to those other guys. He won’t get hurt, right?" He Tao worriedly said.

Layard quickly threw a punch, looking like it was going to smash right into Chen Wei’s face.

But suddenly, Chen Wei disappeared from sight.

Where did he go?

With Layard in confusion, a sense of unease came from behind him.

By the time he thought to turn around, it was already too late.

Chen Wei, with a single hand, as if grabbing a basketball, seized his head and pressed down forcefully.

Bang!

His face was violently smashed to the ground, his nose bridge shattered, facial bones cracked with fine lines, blood flowing freely.

The force was so strong that Layard couldn’t resist at all.

"What!" Falcon Team was horrified.

He Tao and the others were also so shocked they couldn’t speak.

This guy was way too strong!

He was hundreds of times stronger than He Tao and the others had imagined.

The ordinary members of Falcon Team were already formidable in their eyes, let alone Layard, their captain.

To think he was taken down by a single move...

Even seeing it with their own eyes, it still felt like a joke.

Layard didn’t seem like he was intentionally going easy, did he?

"Hey, it seems I had too high hopes for you. Your speed and strength, both absolutely terrible," Chen Wei let go, stood up, and couldn’t help sighing deeply, honestly asking, "How did someone like you even become a captain?"

"..." Without saying a word, Layard reached toward his military boots, and in a blind spot out of view from everyone below the stage, he pulled out a hidden dagger that gleamed with cold light!
