Chapter 214: Chapter 214 I Am Professional! Third Update

"This is already nine to one, do you still want to continue?" Looking at Liu Mi, who was gasping for breath and drenched in sweat, Chen Wei felt that she needed a good rest more than she needed a victory.

Continuing to play like this, she might very well collapse from exhaustion.

"Huff... Puff..." Liu Mi was continuously heaving heavy breaths, now not even having the strength to respond to Chen Wei’s words.

"Mi, don’t push yourself too hard. I think you should rest for a bit. We aren’t in a hurry to leave, we can continue playing later," Su Yumei approached, also very concerned about Liu Mi’s safety.

"Alright, then. I’ll continue after I rest up," Liu Mi set down her racket, nearly tripping as she stepped away.

"Hey! Be careful." Thanks to Su Yumei’s quick reflexes, she managed to catch Liu Mi, preventing her from getting hurt.

"It’s just a game of table tennis, why are you guys going all-out like this?" Su Yumei said, not understanding.

"Senior sister is right," Chen Wei highly agreed.

"If you know I’m right, then why didn’t you go easy on Mi?" Su Yumei playfully glared.

"Giving it your all is the greatest respect you can show your opponent," Chen Wei chuckled.

"Yumei, she’s right, using all your strength is how you respect your opponent." Chen Wei’s words greatly increased Liu Mi’s fondness for him.

"That means when you were playing with me just now, you were very disrespectful," Su Yumei joked.

"Ah, this..." Liu Mi truly hadn’t expected that she had dug a hole and jumped right into it.

"I’m joking, don’t take it seriously. Come on, let’s go sit and take a good rest," Su Yumei said upon seeing Liu Mi’s troubled face.

"Okay." Liu Mi was grateful that Su Yumei had given her a way out; otherwise, even a hundred or a thousand explanations would not have cleared things up.

They had just sat down when Chen Wei immediately saw Wei Xiangyu and others emerge from behind the wall.

"Young man, can I join in the game? Don’t look down on me because I’m old and refuse to play with me," Wei Xiangyu said while believing he had quite a talent for acting.

Little did he know that Chen Wei had already seen through his act of pretending to be old.

Chen Wei didn’t expose them, at least for now he knew that these people had no ill intentions.

In someone’s bag there was even a camera, likely there to film a prank show, something Chen Wei knew a bit about.

"Sure, come on," Chen Wei nodded in agreement.

"How could he agree to that? With such an old age, how can he keep up with his pace of playing?" Liu Mi worried that Chen Wei playing with Wei Xiangyu might cause the latter to have physical issues, which could lead to his family pursuing the matter if something went wrong.

As for what happened to Chen Wei, Liu Mi was indifferent; her concern was that it might affect Su Yumei and herself.

As she was thinking, she noticed the way Wei Xiangyu looked in their direction.

That gaze was even more lecherous and sleazy than Chen Wei’s!

Utterly disgraceful for an old man!

Liu Mi instantly changed her mind; such a person deserved to be taught a lesson.

Wei Xiangyu, not knowing the Mind Reading Technique, couldn’t see through her thoughts and was still captivated by the stunning beauty of Su Yumei and Liu Mi!

Beautiful! So beautiful it was intoxicating! This trip was truly worthwhile.

Even if there was no filming fee, just getting to know and befriend such beautiful women made Wei Xiangyu feel it was all worth it.

After finishing the game, and once the show was done filming, Wei Xiangyu thought he must have a good, in-depth conversation with Su Yumei and Liu Mi, at the very least exchange contact information.

With his identity as a table tennis master soon to be revealed, they would probably flock to him like adoring fans, wouldn’t they?

Thinking this, Wei Xiangyu decided to quickly lose the last point, then turn defeat into victory and end the match early.

Trying to give me flaws on purpose?

From the way Wei Xiangyu started and grasped the racket, Chen Wei could tell that he was a professional player.

Bang!

Since Chen Wei deliberately left an opening, how could Wei Xiangyu not take advantage of it? With a single powerful shot, he froze Wei Xiangyu’s smile.

"That was a clever feint," the director murmured.

Believing everything was progressing smoothly along the expected track.

But he failed to notice Wei Xiangyu’s frozen expression and tightly furrowed brows.

Years of professional competition experience told Wei Xiangyu that Chen Wei was definitely no amateur when it came to table tennis. He must have participated in numerous non-professional competitions and surely had won awards!

Quickly, Wei Xiangyu recovered his confident smile.

How could a master of non-professional competitions compare to himself?

Lose one more point, and I will let you see what it means to be the Prince of Table Tennis in River City!

Wei Xiangyu thought to himself.

Bang!

The next ball, another perfect smash, moved incredibly fast. Wei Xiangyu reached out to return it but just missed.

Stabilize, he muttered to himself, "Next, I’ll let you truly understand what table tennis is about, the dominance of a professional player!"

"Young man, I’m going to get serious now. You better watch closely!" Wei Xiangyu said as he tossed and powerfully struck the ball.

Bang!

Boom!

The ping-pong ball whipped up a strong breeze as it flew past Wei Xiangyu’s ear, overwhelming him with its momentum, let alone hitting it back.

"This guy actually used such a killer shot against an old man in his sixties or seventies..." Liu Mi couldn’t help feeling quite pleased inside.

That’s what he gets for looking at me with that sleazy gaze.

Serves him right!

"Five points, three to win. It looks like I’ve won," Chen Wei said with his hands on the table, smiling.

To Wei Xiangyu, that smile couldn’t be more irritating.

I, a professional player, looked down upon by an amateur?

Unacceptable! Wei Xiangyu couldn’t swallow his pride, "I have to admit, you do have some skill. Dare you play another game with me? This time, I will play with all my strength."

As he spoke, Wei Xiangyu stripped off his wig, fake beard, and clothes.

"Wei Xiangyu!" Liu Mi recognized him at a glance.

"You know her?" Su Yumei asked.

"Can’t say I know her. I’ve seen her on TV; she’s one of River City’s top table tennis players, professional level," Liu Mi explained.

"A professional player!" Su Yumei couldn’t understand why a professional would disguise as an old man to play table tennis with Chen Wei.

Too much free time on his hands?

The director, seeing that things weren’t proceeding as scripted, didn’t intervene; he thought this turn of events was even better, adding more hype.

Overhearing Liu Mi and Su Yumei discussing him, Wei Xiangyu was confident that he almost certainly had the game in the bag.

Picking up his racquet and extending his arm as if wielding a sword, he pointed at Chen Wei with a showy gesture: "There are not many who can force me, Wei Xiangyu, to go all out. In the next game, you’d better not avert your eyes. Watch my every move so you won’t lose too badly."

In response, Chen Wei’s reply was somewhat indifferent. With a simple "Oh," there was no passion or the excitement, fear that Wei Xiangyu expected.

Could it be, he hasn’t heard of me?

Interesting! I’ll take this opportunity to make sure you get to know me well!
