"What happened between you two?" Chen Wei inquired.

"Don’t get the wrong idea! Nothing happened between us, it’s that guy who took a liking to me and wouldn’t leave me alone. It took me a lot of effort to shake him off," Debbie clarified.

She definitely didn’t want Chen Wei to think she was a flirtatious woman, which might make him wary of her.

Unbeknownst to her, Chen Wei had overheard her scheming conversation with Zhu Hong and had already put up his guard against her inside.
