Chapter 168: Chapter 168: Dogs Shouldn’t Oppose Humans, Second Update

They had long found Chen Wei distasteful, snarling with such arrogance alone against so many people, utterly dismissive of themselves and their brothers.

It was merely that Cao San had not given the order earlier, but now that he had, those who held the most contempt for Chen Wei couldn’t wait to rush him, taking three steps as if they were one, charging toward him with a gleaming blade raised high.

They were from Tianding Entertainment; in Tianding’s territory, Master Ding’s word was law. Even if they chopped Chen Wei with a chaotic flurry of knives, they feared no one would come after them.

At this moment, in their eyes, even describing Chen Wei as a punching bag was an understatement—his utmost value was no more than that.

All were hoping that he would be able to take a beating, lest they not get two strikes in before he was cold and lifeless.

Facing a tide of thugs crazily lashing out at him, Chen Wei set the coffin down, as, after all, it was intended as a gift for Zhao Ziding.

If it were wrecked by the fight, wouldn’t it seem like he hadn’t respected the other party?

"Thinking of surrendering now? Too late," Cao San, misinterpreting Chen Wei’s movements as fear and a desire to kneel and beg for mercy, shook his head while lamenting, "Too late, too late..."

Little did he know, Chen Wei still took his words as much use as a dog’s barking, entirely meaningless except for the noise.

"Die, you annoying thing!" The blond man was the first to reach Chen Wei, swinging the watermelon knife in his hand without hesitation, aiming straight for Chen Wei’s shoulder.

Chen Wei dodged to the side.

"What!"

Before the blond man could react or adjust his attack, Chen Wei raised his fist to the level of the man’s abdomen, throwing what appeared to be a light punch but in fact contained boundless strength.

The blond man’s fingers splayed, and the knife fell from his grasp. In an instant, his mouth gauged wide and his eyes bulged as if they were about to pop out of their sockets, followed by a trickle of red from his nose. He was blown backwards like a trash bag in a gale, knocking over several others on his way.

The force was substantial, like firing a human cannonball, leaving those he collided with instantly incapacitated, lying on the ground groaning incessantly, unable to rise.

Seeing this, the others hesitated, stunned.

Was it not just an ordinary punch? How could it have such a terrifying effect!

Bang, bang, bang...

"Trash! What are you all standing around like idiots for? Don’t tell me so many of you can’t overcome just one person!" Cao San slapped the railing of the handrail, face flushed with rage.

He truly questioned what he was spending so much money on each month, keeping a bunch of rubbish. He had always heard the saying ’train the troops for a thousand days, use them for a moment’—but what about this lot? So many couldn’t even handle being bluffed by one man.

If word got out, how could Cao San continue to have a foothold in the underworld?

Hearing Cao San’s angry shouts, everyone looked at each other, nodding in shared understanding, and continued their assault on Chen Wei.

Chen Wei moved like a ghost, and like water, he weaved agilely among them.

Everywhere he passed, the ground was littered with bodies, and the air filled with wails.

From his high vantage point, Cao San especially felt the intensity of the scene.

It wasn’t until he snapped back to reality that he shockingly realized all the men he had brought were now toppled by Chen Wei.

When had this happened?

Cao San felt as though he had only been distracted for a mere second or two. In that brief time, had Chen Wei really taken down more than a dozen men? Impossible!

Cao San rubbed his eyes, fearing he was hallucinating.

But no matter how much he rubbed, what he saw remained unchanged.

"This was even easier than I expected," Chen Wei dusted off his hands, which had picked up a bit of dust, and turned back to the coffin.

He propped it up at an angle with his foot then swiftly slid under it, pushing upwards with a surge of strength.

Instantaneously, he kicked the coffin up to shoulder height, caught it with his hands, and coordinated with his shoulders to continue carrying it towards the second floor.

Was that coffin made of paper?

Cao San wondered.

He knew how heavy coffins were. Not to mention lifting the whole coffin like Chen Wei did, even a single board was enough to cause struggle.

Yet the texture somehow didn’t look like paper.

Seeing Chen Wei getting closer and closer to him, Cao San grew increasingly anxious.

Bang! Bang! Bang...

Cao San’s heartbeat began to accelerate, faster and faster, louder and louder, so loud that he could almost hear his own heartbeat.

"Kid, stop right there! I’m warning you, don’t take another step forward, or don’t blame me for not being polite!"

Chen Wei remained unmoved.

Cao San then forced a smile, "How about this, I see you’re quite capable. No matter what grudges you had with Master Ding in the past, let’s wipe the slate clean. From now on, you work for me as my right-hand man. Don’t worry, I won’t treat you badly, how about it?"

Chen Wei still remained unmoved.

Cao San felt that he was no different from air in Chen Wei’s eyes.

"Yes! I admit you have some skills, but, you’re really not taking me seriously! This is Master Ding’s territory, I’m Master Ding’s confidant. Are you really not afraid of dying by opposing me?" Cao San reached behind him and skilfully drew a gun.

The dark muzzle was pointed at Chen Wei.

Finally, when there was a little more than a meter between them, Chen Wei stopped in his tracks.

Cao San’s lips curled up, thinking that Chen Wei was scared by him.

"That’s right, this is how it should be. Behave well and you can live. How many people in this world are not afraid of death?" Cao San raised his other hand, intending to slap Chen Wei’s face, looking arrogant.

He very much enjoyed humiliating others in this way; it made Cao San feel in control and superior.

Chen Wei was quick to react, grabbing Cao San’s wrist and then suddenly exerted force!

Crack! Crack! Crack!

The sound of bones breaking echoed incessantly, a dozen times.

Half a second later, Cao San reacted, his expression turned hideously terrifying in an instant. Looking at his arm twisted by Chen Wei into a twisted shape, he screamed nonstop, occasionally gasping for air, "Ah! My hand! Ha! Ha!"

"A dog is always a dog, challenging a person is the last mistake you should make."

Chen Wei sighed and shook his head, "I’m really foolish, talking sense to a dog."

"You bastard, go to hell!" Cao San pulled the trigger.

His intent to kill Chen Wei was complete; if Chen Wei didn’t die today, Cao San would not be able to rest easy!

Huh?

But the next second, he realized something was wrong.

The sound of the gun didn’t go off.

He pulled the trigger again.

Still no response.

Again!

Again!

After more than ten tries, there was still no sound.

"Stop trying, it’s useless. The bullets are with me." Chen Wei raised his hand, waving the magazine in his hand.

"Why do you have them!" Cao San exclaimed in shock, at the same time feeling a bad premonition.

"Guess?" A cold smile appeared on Chen Wei’s face.

This smile instantly sent a chill through Cao San’s entire heart.

Cao San threw the gun away and slowly raised his hands, his knees also began bending—a reflexive response from his body.

He wanted to survive.

To this, Chen Wei said nothing and took a bullet from the magazine, "To me, guns are actually quite troublesome. Why make it so complicated? Why not just fight directly, isn’t it the same when it comes to taking a life?"

Chen Wei moved beside Cao San and placed the bullet at the center of his forehead.
