Chapter 554: Chapter 554: Which Family’s Demonized Person Goes Out Still Wearing a Mask

In another room of the small courtyard, Feng Tianxing watched the figure dart out from the neighboring room and glanced at Yan Xiaoyue beside him, "Xiao Yue, was that my Brother Lu just now?"

Yan Xiaoyue nodded her head; indeed it was Lu Xiao.

Both the figure and the attire were unmistakably Lu Xiao’s.

Moreover, the shadow had sprinted out from Lu Xiao’s room.

After a prolonged silence, Feng Tianxing spoke up again, "Xiao Yue, don’t say a word about what you saw today, got it?"

Yan Xiaoyue solemnly nodded her head.

She always kept her mouth shut.

And to tell the truth, even if she had spoken out, she doubted anyone would believe it.

Lu Xiao had just charged into the red light.

And from the looks of it, Lu Xiao was completely unharmed.

Immune to the Red Eyes, was this something a human could do? As everyone knows, only those who have undergone Demon Possession can move freely under the Red Eyes.

Was Lu Xiao demonized? Immune to Demon Possession.

Which family’s demonized individual could still know to wear a mask when leaving the house?

"But, what do you think our Brother Lu was doing going out so late at night?"

"Why don’t we go have a look?" suggested Feng Tianxing.

Yan Xiaoyue shot Feng Tianxing a disdainful look, "What, do you think you’ve lived too long? Mr. Lu can ignore the Red Eyes, but can you?"

"We could use an umbrella," shrugged Feng Tianxing.

Generally speaking, when one must go out after nightfall, umbrellas are used to shield against the red light.

"Then you go. If even the slightest breeze comes, you’re done for," Yan Xiaoyue huffed.

An umbrella could shield against the red light, but those things are too fragile.

Not only winds could blow outside, but one might also encounter demonized individuals at any time.

Even though the demonized tend to have generally low strength, when they swarm you, even if you are strong, the umbrella in your hands would be torn away.

Once without an umbrella for cover, once exposed under the red light, the only options waiting for you are death and Demon Possession.

In the end, Feng Tianxing dared not leave the house.

After all, he needed to stay alive to marry Xiao Yue.

He didn’t know when this feeling started, maybe it was from the time he was almost assassinated, and Xiao Yue desperately protected him; or perhaps, it was even earlier.

...

Lu Xiao charged all the way to the north back gate of the Academy.

The north back gate was usually less frequented, so the entrance was small.

Since it was night, the entrance had already been closed.

However, as soon as Lu Xiao rushed to the bushes near the gate, he saw that a makeshift pavilion had been temporarily set up right in front of the main gate.

Inside the pavilion, there was a chair with a small old man, around seventy years old, sitting with his eyes closed, hugging a sword.

Lu Xiao had seen the old man during the day; he was one of the eight Demi Immortals of the Ninth Layer from Penglai Holy Land.

From within the bushes, a murderous intent suddenly flashed in Lu Xiao’s eyes.

Without a word, he raised both his hands and began to accumulate red light.

The next second, a thick red beam of light roared towards the pavilion with a sonorous boom.

In the pavilion, the old man suddenly opened his eyes.

"Vermin!" The old man roared in anger, swiftly drawing his sword to slice at the red light.

"Vermin your mom’s a whore," cursed Lu Xiao, firing off several more beams of red light in rapid succession.

Some were aimed at the old man, others at the pavilion itself.

"Damn you! Who are you!" The old man’s angry roar was tinged with a hint of fear.

Lu Xiao cocked an eyebrow towards the old man’s sword, which was now chipped and cracked, essentially wrecked.

The makeshift pavilion had been cut in half by the red light, and the old man was now hiding underneath the other half.

Without another word, Lu Xiao again concentrated red light, firing like a madman towards the pavilion.

"You scoundrel!" Seeing the overwhelming red light shooting towards him, the old man chose not to clash head-on this time, but rather grabbed his black umbrella and prepared to flee.

From the bushes, Lu Xiao sneered, "Want to run? It’s too late."
