Chapter 298: Chapter 298: I Didn’t Book a Hotel

Half an hour later, Lu Xiao and Chen Fei checked into the hotel arranged by Edson.

The hotel was quite nice, at least the lobby looked luxurious and splendid.

"Ms. Chen Fei, your room is on the seventeenth floor, it’s a suite. There is no specific check-out time; you can leave and check out whenever you wish," Edson maintained his smile and respectful demeanor as he spoke in the lobby lounge.

"Okay, thank you, Mr. Edson," Chen Fei took the room card Edson handed over.

"I won’t disturb you two any further. If you need anything, feel free to give me a call. Here’s my business card."

After leaving a gold-embossed business card, Edson left the hotel with the other Superpower Alliance members.

Watching Edson’s slightly hunched figure walking away, Lu Xiao narrowed his eyes, a faint murderous intent emerging from his gaze.

"Should we kill him secretly?" Sensing Lu Xiao’s murderous aura, Chen Fei immediately asked.

"No need for now, let’s wait and see, bide for the right moment," Lu Xiao raised an eyebrow.

Edson’s fleeting intent to kill had not escaped Lu Xiao’s sharp notice.

Of course, Lu Xiao wasn’t the type to put someone to death just because they harbored a murderous intent towards him.

He merely felt that Edson was a dangerous old man who was likely to be a big problem in the future.

A Fourth Rank, a long-famed and exceptionally powerful Fourth Rank, who could lower his pride and treat others with such courtesy, was definitely a person good at hiding, enduring, and scheming.

Being targeted by such a person would be extremely uncomfortable.

This kind of person rarely takes action, but once they do, they would make sure you fall into a deadly trap instantly.

"Okay," Chen Fei didn’t dwell on the issue.

"Let’s go." Lu Xiao got up, pulled his luggage, and headed towards the hotel entrance.

Chen Fei immediately followed, her expression still a bit odd, "Lu Xiao, aren’t we staying?"

"Not staying. This place is probably full of Superpower Alliance spies and their surveillance cameras. I don’t fancy being filmed for their little movies," Lu Xiao shook his head.

"Are we going back to the hotel you booked before then?"

"I didn’t book any hotel."

"But, didn’t you call to cancel a booking at the airport just now?"

"I didn’t. I didn’t even make the call, just wanted to disgust Edson."

Chen Fei bared her teeth, Lu Xiao, this guy... so bad, but... so likable.

...

"Where is this?" Twenty minutes later, Chen Fei looked at the huge manor-style villa in front of her, somewhat dazed.

"My place."

"Your place?"

"Yeah, Arthur gave it to me," Lu Xiao spread his hands.

After his solo raid on the Black Lotus Headquarters back then, Arthur gifted him several things, including this manor villa.

Arthur had even thoughtfully arranged a management team and paid a hundred years worth of their fees.

"Bzz, bzz, bzz..." Lu Xiao pressed the intercom button a few times at the massive iron gate.

Soon, two guards came over, leading a large black dog.

"Who are you? Who are you looking for? This is private property; if you’ve taken a wrong turn, please leave." The two guards spoke in a very haughty and arrogant tone, the look in their eyes filled with scrutiny and disdain.

"I’m Lu Xiao, the owner of the manor," Lu Xiao frowned, hadn’t Arthur told his management team who they were managing the villa for?

Did they not even know to whom the house belonged?

The two guards were clearly stunned, then they began to whisper to each other and soon burst into laughter.

Their laughter was laced with mockery and disdain.

"There have been people pretending to be relatives before, but you’ve got nerve, pretending to be the owner."

"Come on, get lost. This is Mr. Amir’s manor."

"I wonder where this fool came from."

The two guards gestured dismissively at Lu Xiao through the iron gate.

Amir? He had never heard of him.

Had the manor been sold again by Arthur? Impossible, since Lu Xiao had the ownership certificate, Arthur couldn’t have sold it.

Lu Xiao didn’t speak further but dialed Arthur’s number.

"Hey, bro, what’s up?" Arthur’s voice soon came through the phone.

"I want to ask you something. The manor you gave me in Meili Country, is it at 3 Keshe Street?" Lu Xiao asked as he looked at the address sign.

"Yeah, what’s up, bro? You in Meili Country? Just stay there, I’ve hired a management team; just bring your bags and move in."

"Management team? Is there someone named Amir among them?" Lu Xiao asked again.

"Amir Lop, he’s the chief steward of the management team I hired."

"Okay, got it," After speaking, Lu Xiao hung up the phone.

On the other end of the line, Arthur listened to the dial tone, feeling a bit lost.

"Bro, why do you hang up the phone so quickly? I can’t even ask anything," Arthur pouted, then looked down at his left hand that was emitting a crazy amount of white light.

About a week ago, his body started undergoing a bunch of strange changes.

It began with white light emerging from the top of his head, then his belly button, and then his limbs...

He didn’t know what was happening, didn’t dare speak of it, or ask.

"Well, let’s wait another couple of days and see what changes," Arthur sighed.
